Haha, ok thanks. Been training most of my military to be superminers, before drafting them, so in a way thats what im gonne go, just with hammers and axes.

Next Question. Now that its completely Red in all bodyparts, will not stop moving? because it seems to have stopped destroing the last door that was stoping it, and it wont go for the tasty goblin(and door) bait i set up for it in its ned 2x2 home...

Thanks for all your great feedback. Gonne try and make a containment room and lure it in there, and close the door in its face. Got a Spider in a cage, so i might get it to web a cage first. This is gonne be fun!

For some reason killing it was my only thought, keeping it is soooo much better :)

I've killed an amethyst FB with silver bolts. I guess amethyst is about as hard as crystal?

If it is crippled, you could also make your legendary miners a squad armed with picks (preferably iron or steel) and let them do some crystal mining.

Could you expand on this? not quite sure what you mean!

So i got a forgotten beast, crystal monster. Quadruped.

Got it capured in my cave airlock, with fortifications all around, so my markdwarves are safe. And getting the best training session of their lives.

Because it wont die. Been flinging berhaps a couple of hundre bolts at it, its red on all bodyparts, but it just keeps getting chipped.

Using Copper bolts, should i start to make Steel or perhaps Iron to se if that is a better effect?

Or if you, when confiquring the stockpile, you did this;

1.Disalowed all things for the stockpile, via the "disable all" command
2. allowed only certain armors and weapons.

In this prosess you might have forgotten to allow again the Usable and Unusable buttons on the bottom of the list.

USABLE will make the stockpile allow weapons and armour your dwarfes can use. of the qualitey and type you have selected.

This happend with my Weapons stockpile, took at while to figure it out....

What putnam said. Just remove the repeat before removing the job. The protection of repeated jobs is something that workflow does that, in my oppinion, should never be removed, because it's damn useful.

Yeah, its brilliant, just sometimes, i wantet to get rid of a repeat job, just could not figure it out...... turns out it was simple...  Must have been to simple fro my complex mind ;)

Doh! I feel sheepish! the one thing i did not try, and also THE MOST LOGICAL!!!!

Love the program, made my Df life a lot more fun. This.and evemon are must haves.

Note sure if this is the right place to ask, but here goes:

Am i missing someting on the Workflow plugin, i enable it, and suddenly i cant delete old repeat jobs in Workshops, even those not covered by workflow Amount setups.

Is it some way to mark only the repeat jobs you want to not get canceled? since i cant manually delete them either with the plugin on, and its a hassle to jump back and forth disabeling it to cancel Repeat jobs i dont need anymore. OR in some cases where they have been adding up and so filling up the work queue.

Second Question. How to reorder my squads, so i can group them on melle rangeed etc.

Pri/assigment when i am in the equip screen seems to do this, but it does not carry over from the reorder screen itself...

On archery ranges and saving volts

Been following the wiki guide and trying to make the bolts fall down a zlevel and. Sont seem to work, they stop when they hit the range and fall down as broken bolts in front (graphic, not as an item)

Was Ranges made solid in some way so that the bolts could not be recycled anymore?

Don't forget, Shift + Enter when choosing construction materials auto choose the entire wall segment to be 1 type. Makes building much quicker(100enters for a 10x10 floor).
Indeed. I played for two years before I found this out. Huge time saver.

Also remember, if you want to station archers on your walls, you really need one level that you only have the fortification, and then a one-tile wide walkway, to force your archers to stand next to the fortification. If there is more room, they often stand around litt haphazardly in the area you have give the station ordre

Personaly i dont consider this an exploit, i just consider this an excellent show of dwarven inginuity.

You toss a dwarf around and pelt him with coins (or refuse)! Love it!

The death and mutilation that has lead to these discoveries is very dwarfy i feel!

Bug:
The thing with the 'c' button, happens whenever i hit the c key

EDIT: Seems to have stoped happening now, seems to be intermittent, will trace conditions to when i happens, (if it happens again
)
