In Venezuela means a mob of people beating the living crap of someone (or several) suspected to be or confirmed a criminals, sometimes till death, or until people get tired of beating them or the police can disperse the crow. A common occurrence for this is for suspected or confirmed child abusers (which 99% of the time end up raped and death, sometimes raped to death once in jail) or careless unarmed or disarmed robbers and muggers caught red handed by a large enough amount of people.

I strongly feels this is one of those things most spanish speaking countries would agree. Also I feels most of the world too.

In this case most likely they were unarmed or using fake bullets to avoid any casualty. And for as much specops they are a crazy guy with a katana is nothing to laugh at and can kill you. In this case the most sensitive thing to do was to simply get away from the guy.

I bet this could have ended up much more differently if they guy acted on a military base  and/or against armed and on duty personnel and/or if the ninja had cornered them with no escape.

Depending on your angle they are either the cherry on top of the lynching or a way to prevent the need of lynching.

I think there are and logically should be exceptions. Also I guess they were not in a spot of do or die were lethal force was needed as a mater of self-defense.
