Forum Games and Roleplaying / Re: You are an evil entity (suggestion game)

Let us not forget that we are dealing with mages here.
They and clerics are some of the few who can actually harm us in any form and for good. That said;

Guerillia Warfare and You! .. or something.

Let's get some of the more worthy troops - priestess included - and stirr up trouble for those mages. Continiously, multiple times, even changing out the lesser guys for not-exhausted ones. For that purpose, crossbows for our men sound fine. Able to inflict mortal damage, while having a good range and being quite straightforward in use. Maybe some explosives even. Ah, the fun to be had.

Spending time with our Husband sounds good.
Like already mentioned, he will be gone soon enough, and we do not know him all that well yet.

Alternatively I would be all for a little chat with Killman, or starting those cooking lessons.

Else, our uncle is on his own.

He is trouble. The whole family buisness is trouble. If we stirr things up in that direction, we might end up dead .. or worse. Either way we would also become yet more trouble, something we do not want to burden our husband with. First of all, we should get the story from the townsfolk, lest our uncle has taken too many liberties in telling the story. Then again, this would suggest we want to stirr things of that direction up, so we should not actively do so by any means. Keeping our ears peeled is obviously good thou.

Koro's Upbringing
We should try to endear him to the townsfolk, at least as far as this will be possible. While not an action for today, we ourself can also do quite a part in this, I would wager. To cut it short - this is a fishing and trading town. We are sentinent and able to work in the water better than anyone else, I would wager. If we make ourselves usefull in that regard, our reputation will immedieatly rubb off on him, as soon as he does something similiar. Heck, we can make him look for pearls as a game, should we really get desperate on this matter.
Else, he is 7 and literate. Giving him a much needed edge for his undoubtly troubled life ahead, I say him becoming a magician sounds like a good plan. Inquiring with Killman about the probability and possible danger of this matter can't hurt either.

This... does sound like it could get quite interesting. So, besides the grist, what will be included? Well, I guess it will not be that much of a problem to find or create an ability that would represent the Sburb-Class, especially with those only truly coming into play a bit later on. Which is to ask, do we get to choose our class? I would further wager that the the enemies also would be fashioned after our sprites, and should go into the charactersheet by that logic? But that also would enable quite a lot of meta, and might be better decided by the dice.. hmm.

Quote from: Sheet along these lines?
Name: SburbistMcTestchar
Blood: (Troll only) Amber
Strife Deck: Mugkind
Sylladex: Memory Modus
Sprite: Cat-hide
Class: Thief of Doom
Bio: Does Stuff.

Oh wow. Very nice thinking there Bauglir. Albeit also quite complicated in nature. Hmhm.

Just as a heads up man, you might want to put this thread in General Discussion :P
Well, while that might be true in essence, I would say it has more merit to ask the people who actually do so for their games. As I would think Giglamesh has implied by posting here. Else, we already do have those "Idea Threads" going around, which are not games either. So~ Its not bad to have these little bits of "gm resources" drifting around here. I guess. ;3

I vote Awaken a single inherent ability.
My dwarven side wants a brewery, but my sane side wants this, so +1!
Quite alike to my thoughts. Inherent Ability it is!

PNG's on Imgur.

Yeah, it's more of a social hosting-site, but who cares? Only encountered some minor problem once, as they seem to not provide south-america with their "multiple-pictures-at-once-upload". Which is generally a great plus for me, btw. Somewhat sure not all image-hosters have that option.

And so he vanquished that what not-was, not-is, and certainly never will-be. And he let the matters of everything seep out from whence he decreed it to enter existence. Letting it spill he did, and spilling forth it did. Behold, for soon it blanketed every corner of what-was, and equal so in proportion and number of its different matters.

And he felt all which what-was, and he was all that what-was.

Including an evening-drill for our men sounds like a good idea.
We want them to be prepared for the trouble which is undoubtly going to come at some point. Some spars obviously also belong in this drill, but let us keep them safe for now. Dont want our men to kill themselves - some staffs or limbs of wood will do for now I wager.

No to using the Silk in any way. At least not for shade.
Dude, It is Silk. It is worth a small fortune. Its like getting a katana so you can cut your nails, for lack of a better comparison. Unnededly extravangt and even dangerous. (Yeah, I really lack a better comparison right now ><.)

Truly, It was all and knew it to be so. And It was writhing within itself, shifting and coiling around in that which not-was and still not-is and certainly never will-be. It swelled itself, it burst and merged, sometimes expanding, sometimes shrinking. And moving, oh yes - stirring, traveling, changing, even stopping sometimes -  in that which not-was, not-is and certainly never will-be.

Oh, how exactly do soul essences work?

+1 Attribute - Thus they obviously come in 4 varieties. They ought to cost 15 Soul on the "open market", but I still need to bring that one in, as I would need to do with the crafting of smit and chantery. Next turn, I say. ;o

So I guess the maps arn't working for everyone, so i'm going to give a better description of a person's options and environment after each turn is processed. Sorry for the confusion everybody =p

I would wager that taking a screenshot, cropping the unneded edges away and uploading the result would also work - and might be still less time-consuming that writing in a "visual" manner. Not that the later wouldn't be appreciated, just voicing my view on the matter. ;3

Edit:
I'll just follow along behind Thomsen for now.
With your high search? Quite welcome. Besides, the more the safer merrier "Right, 'nother meatshield is always welco-" ! Shh.. quiet you..  :P

Well, it certainly is a bit puzzeling. The system is not complicated - for the players, at least ;p -, the story-parts are well-written as far as I am concerned, and the story in itself bears great promise, depending on how you play it, and what you want to achieve.

Way I see it, my best guess is that the later could actually be the problem - people finding a goal for themselves in such an "open game". But there actually already was a discussion about the exact topic, and people decided that they wanted to take "the plot" into their own hands back then... Thinking on it, the lack of PC-Rivalary could also be a factor - but people should have known that when signing up - with a whole planet for each race...

Edit@Xanatalos;
Well, that's more or less what the mentioned discussion was about, with the players saying they would rather create their own....

An did you say warmage? i like the sound of speaking with this warmage to see what practices he can tell us about and maybe a tip or two in the right direction.

Mages of our own nationality are too tight-lipped to really help us, we also want our knowledge and practice of the magical arts to be somewhat secret. Asking mages of a foreign nation, who serve our brother-in-law, and will report to our brother in law such happenings, about information that they might have to keep in even under torture, sounds like a bad idea. (Seeing as magic is very serious and secret here - not kanon, but a good guess I daresay)

Keep our deck stacked and hidden.

Especially with someone who soon could lay claim to our lands due to kinship.

Evening out the odds in a fistfight? Very honourable indeed. Of the crude kind, sure enough, but still honourable none the less.

Tell him that we understand his reasons, but that you do not want it happening again, lest the relations sour between the different troops.

Anyways, they are mercenaries, the others are soldiers. They ought to take it in stride and let it go soon enough. I doubt any real harm will be done, unless the morale of one party gets to some low, prompting them to lash out at the others. Just make sure our mercs are not taunting the soldiers, or other such senseless behaviour. Else, it is hardly much of a concern.
