Something just occurred to me.
Does this mean we can have a friendly sparring session?
:o

This could lead on to learning special combat moves from master warriors!

I love feature creep!

Hrm. I was mainly referring to the unarmed combat (tavern brawls, fist fights with street thugs, etc.) that were mentioned in one of the devlogs.

Sheathing your weapon was mentioned, and it was implied that drawing your sword (or whatever) could be one of the triggers for AI reactions (e.g. thugs run away / thugs draw their own weapons / thugs call for backup / etc.).

So, would you have to take your bronze mail shirt off before you start brawling with people?

I got a bit restless waiting for the next beast, so I did this as a warm-up. I hope no one minds me posting it here.

Spoiler: Strabo Okomstot (click to show/hide)

I think the cavern could have done with more detail. Mould and fungi I suppose. Also, scales? Hrm... let's pretend they are very fine scales ;).

...Continuing right on.

In my recent foray into the world of Licevathiira, I started in a hamlet called Riddleriddled.
Let me guess... there's a bat man lurking on the rooftops, searching for glowing green question marks?

I made it to the other side of the mountains and slew the dragon. Now I have to go back over the wolverine-and-yak-infested mountains to tell the lawgiver that I've completed his damned quest.

Yes, I could tell a villagers from this side of the mountains, but I want to improve my standing with my home civilisation, not these filthy foreigners.

I see how weapons will be handled with the non-lethal fighting (i.e. they will be sheathed or whatever) but what about your armour?

Punching someone in the chest while they're wearing a byrnie or breastplate would be no fun at all. And those gauntlet-clad fists could be considered lethal weapons.

Nicely done. I especially like the dwarves' hats and big noses!

Yeah HH try to eavesdrop on some nuthatches.

Quote
Sigurth took Fafnir's heart and cooked it on a spit. When he thought that it was fully cooked, and the blood foamed out of the heart, then he tried it with his finger to see whether it was fully cooked. He burned his finger, and put it in his mouth. But when Fafnir's heart's-blood came on his tongue, he understood the speech of birds. He heard nut-hatches chattering in the thickets. A nut hatch said:

32. "There sits Sigurth, | sprinkled with blood,
And Fafnir's heart | with fire he cooks;
Wise were the breaker | of rings, I ween,
To eat the life-muscles | all so bright."
Good thing I kept the heart(s) as well then!

I haven't been able to understand any buzzards or ravens so far. Maybe I need to slay another dragon? Maybe it's only the Viking dragons that have animal-comprehension-oglobin in their blood?

So here is the elf Cocé Raptorwatch fighting a group of bandits.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

He really did just crawl away after that. He was just that grossed out, I guess.
Ah ha, ha, ha! I love the ending there.

Also, I love the facial expressions on your characters!

the idea that a horses will blindy run at a wall of pointy things is crazy.
This is a problem with the horses we have at re-enactment shows. Most of them are polo horses.

Not exactly the fearsome destriers of times gone by.

But getting horses to charge a shieldwall of dwarves will only have to be considered if formations are implemented. Otherwise, DF battles will play out more like skirmishes rather than scaled battles.

I laughed so much. Reminded me of the multi-wrestle pic I can no longer find.

Did he find an Elder God and make a deal of some kind?

Yeah, I've noticed this as well. Presumably it's a fairly well-known "feature" that may or may not be addressed in the future.

I have a waterskin of dragon's blood that I'm carrying around. The dragon was surprisingly easy to defeat, but its blood will have magical properties... right?

Aw man.
