Masterwork DF / Re: Real bug this time; merchants arrived and caught fire
« on: September 11, 2016, 04:02:07 pm »
Please check your errorlog. And, well, yes, usually thats when entering the map. If I dont know which item exactly caused this, I cant fix it. Although I do expect it to be some "liquid fire clothing" item, which somehow spread over from Succubi mode to other races. ^^

Only your fort should be able to produce them but I'm starting to believe that something changed there. Furthermore how did they ended in the hands of other races? Did inter civ trading was implemented?

Try downloading again because it seems that you are lacking a few files.

these are the top 3 error i get when i try to embark and then the game crashes and crashes whenever i try to start another game in the same save
undefined plant material set to default: AGED_MUSHROOM_HELMET_PLUMP AGED_MUSHROOM_HELMET_PLUMP

You are not the only one to run into such issue, did you change the graphics or settings in the launcher by any chance ?

Otherwise you can send me the save though google drive or dffd.

Spook Nimoy and Ellen McCoy as name offerings.

Sold!

And I don't mind Imgur turning into a social network by itself if it does nto get in the way of quick upload and sharing.

Edit: Trying to move forward, the game crashes on the geoscape. Dammit!

Eve Jobs-sama was glad to see the latest additions to the Cave of Booty : a solid gold cutlass, stacks of fuso beef and a bed large enough for the Big Boss and most of the slaves.

12 May 2602

After two days of sleeping and partying, the captain woke up to surprisingly bad news. It seemed that her eccentric expenses dropped to the pirates finances to dangerous levels, not to mention that the trade guild went after the independent merchants of the world, leaving the three hideouts bankrupt. The pirates were unable to even buy a basic rocket to shake at their enemies!

This is not the only news, whoever in charge of this planet had given the purebloods the right to own supersonic cars and go as they please. A sudden sense of freedom shook the world, but Eve Jobs-sama saw through this ruse. She knew that the purpose of this decree was to lure the pirates out at the expense of citizen lives.

The brainers had to pack up and leave the cave to find traders eager to sell basic tools, and so began operation Waste Of Time.

13 May 2602

A runt tried to explain why their supposedly excellent plan to create a superhuman warrior resulted to the most drugged up sloth armed with an explosive bong. That did not go well for her.

Not to mention that these mechanics tried to use the lab for their own experiments while the brainers were away. It left quite a mess.

14 May 2602

The smell in the lab got worse, but letting the apple ferment in barrels provided something that may pose as wine. Or explosive cider. Either way it ment alcohol, which in turn ment money.

15 May 2602

The academy flew a ship over Europe and met the Kraken in the Arctic.

Crash site

Orison was not very pleased to visit the North Pole.

The gals did not feel the same. Most of them wore a bikini because of their short breath. Their tiny bits were so hard they could deflect bullets.

The academician though that wearing warm clothes in the Arctic was a good idea. They were proved wrong as their bodies did not deflect anything.

Approaching the broken ship, the gals could detect the last two Osiron security guys hiding in fear.

Princess Bellodie gave them a good stab.

In the end that was a good training  mission, no one was wounded and Lo Raine gained some confidence. Confidence that wearing a bikini at the North Pole was pure madness.

16 May 2602

Nothing happened…

17 May 2602

The brainers reached the confederation, waved money around, and asked for guns to kill people. They immediately became the center of attention.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Their wares were not really good, but at least the gals saw food again on their table.

18 May 2602

With basic supplies out of the market. The pirates had to rely on themselves. To achieve this, they needed to write know what they knew about shooting and killing.

Spoiler: Weapon info (click to show/hide)

-----

Okay, I am a little bit tired to write 'The brainers' or 'The runts', so I need your input,
* Who are the chief scientist and chief engineer?
* What do they look like?
* What are their names?

Also wtf is wrong with Imgur? Every time I got back there the interface is different and the upload get worse.

Masterwork DF / Re: Succubi

You found the easter egg, good job.

You cannot milk succubi or any sentient creature, at least the conditions for that are not implemented yet.

You want a demon master? They do have one. Upon embarking press c and check who is the demon prince, you'll likely to have an demon master there. To make it move into your fort simply make it the mountainhome: produce lots of goods, give it as gift to your race's caravan and select a noble when the time comes.

Unless of course if the demon prince died and was replaced by a human who became king of the succubi through the power of his spirit. Then you can abandon and try another civ.

262
You might find a surviving arm or leg in the units list.

Wait until you feel that you have explored vanilla properly before jumping into Masterwork. You get to refresh your experience after getting bored.

About the tavern visitors destroying buildings, would it be possible to fix that by having that ability off by default but turn it on temporarily whenever they see an enemy? So invaders would still smash up the fortress in between the murdering but visiting werewolf poets would just mind their own business until someone pissed them off. Sure, you'd still have to rebuild the tavern every now and then when the foreign crowd gets rowdy but that sounds like a totally reasonable expense when you're catering to Jotun mercenaries and the like.

It's not possible afaik but having the ability to turn off building destroyer permanently for the FD races would be neat.

Having a bit of an odd problem with this. I can't seem to make a wood burning furnace... which means I can't make ash or coke. Which means I can't make soap or fuel furnaces without magma. I read way back that tentacle monsters apparently can be milked for slime that makes soap without lye (which needs ash), but the soap-maker's workshop doesn't have that as an option.

If you cannot build the wood furnace, you can get free coke by selecting your smelter and finding the 'heat up the forges' job. It should be into the non-magma forge too.

You cannot get free soaps out of tentacle monsters anymore but their slime is a substitute for oil, so with this and some ash you can get your soap without bothering with lye or pressing.

The crematory will let you burn vermin remains for ash, so getting a few nahash will get your soap industry started.

Gave corruption bugs a shot. I fixed the dfhack errors (makeown.lua was obsolete) and found a lot more issues afterwards. If you corrupt invaders, they are still seen as hostile by your fort and fps is obliterated. Also a few invaders stay in their cages instead of moving out.

This is going to take ages to fix.

Is it normal for Nightmares to starve to death without access to cavern moss?

Mine do..every single time.

Yes if you have no grass to feed them with. If you embark on an arid biome you are better off butchering them. If you get pet, buying and farming plant will lead their owner to feed them... sometimes.

Last time I played TFTD, many moons ago, I stopped playing because a lobsterman, with a reaction shot after my pointman shot it, took out my three best soldiers on the first turn of a terror mission.

This is funny because that's exactly what happened with a Deep One on that boat.
