It's fine. I just tested I could walk an adventurer through your fortress without the game crashing. 

I could.

Visitors will have to be quite patient, though, as it does get laggy in places.

You don't have to upload everything at once. I would like the pre-retire as well, but you can do it tomorrow or something. Unless your Internet is metered per month or something. I'm not cruel :)

Oh yeah, and is your DF exe 'Large Address Aware'? If you're using Windows then you can check with this (It's a tiny program, so won't add to your Internet woes).

You can keep going. Tacomagic's rule doesn't say your turn will be stolen. It says your turn may be stolen. :P
So it all depends on how much you trust your fellow players.

I've just had two dwarves fall into a river because the tile they were standing on was deconstructed. Either by themselves, or by the dwarf standing next to them.

This is probably a question best asked in DF2014 (v0.40.10+) Worldgen Cookbook Thread!.

That said, my computer isn't top of the range by a long way and it's OK with medium sized (129x129). I've got a worldgen set I call 'Heroworld' it has lots of savagery, monsters, regions, etc. etc. You might want to give it a try.

Just to note that I've been testing DF 0.40.23 and had an unexplained non-repeatable game crash once (during first 6 months' game play). So I would not suggest upgrading at this point. I will be continuing to test play DF 0.40.23 to see if it was an isolated occurrence.

You hit the weasel but the maul glances off.

Small opponents behave like they are made of solid adamantium against large weapons.

With one foot I cannot hope to run. Like my cowardly companions do. Still, at least I know they have my travel journal with them. The mountain hall my yet use that information to found a new fortress. Maybe they'll even put up a memorial slab for me. I turn to the goblins and make my stand.

The mountain hall needs a new surveyor to prepare a fortress site. You can either travel to one of the locations I've described in this thread, or go further afield. If you are interested reply here. I suggest the next player stick with it until their hero dies or until they successfully prepare a fortress site. Take as long as you like and report the results. Please don't cheat with LegendViewer or similar. :P

I'm putting the save file up on DFFD. The save uses Phoebus' Graphics Set, dfhack and the latest Adventurer Fort version. I will also upload a version with everything pre-installed into a copy of DF 0.40.19 for Windows.

This game requires dfhack so should not be updated past DF 0.40.19 until dfhack has been.
