DF Suggestions / Additional Options when weapon is lodged in wound.
« on: August 08, 2012, 10:31:08 am »
Alright, so i was thinking the whole "weapon lodged in x' thing was somewhat bland.

My idea here is as follows:
If a spear, pike, longsword, 2-h Sword, or Halberd got lodged in a person from a stab attack, there would be an option in the wrestling menu to run the spear/sword/etc. through them, causing additional pain and bleeding.
If the above was done with a sword, there would then be an option to rip the sword out, causing more bleeding and pain. Shortswords and thrown swords skip the runthrough part and can be directly Ripped out at initial lodging.

If the weapon is lodged in some poor sods body via slashing or hacking, well, I dunno, suggestions?

I can't think of anything that you could do if it was a hammer, flair, or mace that lodged, either.

So let me get this straight, you got a barrel filled with a liquid that isnt a liquid, but is a liquid that just doesn't exist, but does exist at the same time?

He would reread the forums the next day and edit his post so as to not make himself look less intelligent than he is.

WWUD If he's made 3 posts in the last day on this topic?

Oh man, i know the feeling you must be having.

Alright, to find some harmless animals to brutally dismember and torture for the purpose of training skills, i recommend you travel a little bit from a town, go into sneaking mode(Shift + S) And just walk around until you find a bird or something. You can find a bunch of crabs if you can find a beach.

And shops, the way this works is, there are hamlets, and there are towns/cities. hamlets never have shops. Towns/Cities almost always have temples, shops, and a keep you can rob for free with no bad side effects.

Sadly, there are no staves in the game, but im sure there is/will be eventually be a mod that includes them.

But yeah, to find creatures, go into sneak mode, and just wander around.

And a quick word of advice, whenever you aren't fast traveling, you should be sneaking, you ALWAYS want to be the first one to see the other person, and this will stop you from randomly taking a bolt in the knee out of no where unless you bump right into a bowman.

Whatever you do, DO NOT ATTACK A STRAY CAT OR DOG. Just don't, you know how on Legend of Zelda games if you hit a chicken too many times a few hundred chickens come out of nowhere and rape your face? Well, that will happen in this game, just, there will be dogs, turkeys, peacocks, people, and etc. chasing you looking for your head on a pike.

But yeah, thats all the tips i really have for you, good luck in your adventures.

So i find this mod to be extremely fun, and useful for making trophies out of things corpses.

I do have one suggestion, however:

Staves, my idea behind it is, you could make a staff from 2 wood units, then, with a reaction, you could attach weights of either rock, metal, or bone to the staff, which would require one or two units of said rock/metal/bone, allowing the staff to have a use as a weapon by increasing its weight.
To my untrained in modding brain, it seems like this would be possible by having a reaction inwhich the staff is consumed and the weight material is consumed, and an entirely new staff is created with the weight of the rock/bone/metal you chose to attach.

I.E.: Pine Staff + Small Gabbro Stone = Gabbro Weighted Staff.

In my opinion the attacks a staff could do would be bashing with the handle, and striking, and maybe slapping, for that extra comedic value.

It would be a multi-grasp weapon, a little bit smaller than a halberd.

I don't really know what skill it would use, Striker possibly?

Alright, this mod looks amazing, but i have absolutely no knowledge as to how I install this.

Is there some sort of universal mod installation guide available, or...?

And also, would i need to gen a new world for the mod to work if i did manage to install it?
