Name: Archmedus Magnes or Arch for short
Description:
He has a thin build with a long black beard that is braided into a single cord. What is particular about him is he has complete heterochromia where the right eye to dark purple, and the other blue. His hands are heavily callus due to constant working and tinkering with the machines he builds.
Backstory:
He was born in the western part of Rhael, in a lower class noble family although his complete heterochromia did not show until a much later age. When of the age of 9 he was “playing hide and seek” from one of his caretakers. For some strange reason he chose to hide in the family’s small library. He hardly ever visited this place due to finding it quite boring but it did provide plenty of nooks and crannies to hide in. While quickly running and trying to find a hiding spot, he accidentally ran into one of the book cases causing to book to tumble out. When it hit the ground it cause the book’s spine to break, allowing the book’s content to spill out all over the ground. Fearing retribution from the local scribe he decided to hide the books and its pages within his bedroom.
A week later, during the dead of night with only single candle lighting up his room, he decided to start to read the book. Dumping the messy contents on his desk, he started to go through the pages of this book. The book explained the basic of levers, counter weights and gears. Fascinated by this, he continued to study, absorb, and understand the concepts and diagrams of this book for almost a year. At the age of 10 he was able to apply most of this in basic of levers and counter-weights however the gears were the hardest to come by due to the materials and expertise to build them. By the age of 11 he was able to design a crane system that allows a single man to lift many times his own weight although it will not been implemented until a couple of years later where his parents were able to convince some of their contacts implement the crane design. At the age of 15 he was able to design a simple device that would wander around a table a dispense a selected beverage into a person's cup and a mechanical arm was thought up and scribble into a sheet for later use.
However, his crane system was being implemented in some parts of western Rhael although someone else was taking credit for his design. Furious by this he burned most of his designs and copying only the most promising designs into a personal journal that he carried around with him at all times
At age 18 his complete heterochromia started to appear. Also, his more exotic designs started to be planned such as single handed self- reloading crossbow, and a mask that amplifies the user’s sight and hearing. This year is where he designed and built a mechanical arm, although it was clunky and inefficient, it worked. But the strange part about it is it wouldn’t work with others and tend to break down when other tried to use. He tried to find answers for it but it seemed to fix itself as soon as he laid his hand on it.
Then at age 19 the Acasic Conquest came and destroyed most of his family’s property and his inventions, and all that was left was him and his journal. So, ever since then he wandered the land trying to find a noble that was willing to support him.
