What would i need to get the Crystal mover to a state where it can safely carry people? Would I need some sort of life support system? Seats? Snacks?

Are there things like diving suits? What about heat resistant diving suits? Could Clate take some Crystal and form a heat-resistant diving suit out of it? Or is the Crystal too rigid to be turned into a diving suit?

Would our personal radios be enough to allow us to contact the bore from the Crystal mover through a few tiles of lava? Or would we be better off installing a radio in the mover?

Could Clate use his abilities to form some sort of airlock if we get the mover next to a sealed Crystal structure? I'm guessing that if we get in then we'll be safe from the heat. Is there a chance that the local overmind resists his attempts to penetrate the wall?

((Just use the coolant and water around here to construct a bridge out of ice.[/joking]))

If I can open the door on the other side, do so. If I can lower the lab or order some sort of maintenance elevator, do so.

Else, if there's something I could grab on the other side and I'm in throwing distance, suggest that someone strong could tie some rope on me and use me as an animate grappling hook. Else, suggest they find a rocket and make a rocket propelled grappling hook.

Continue negotiating.

Ah. I know what you are. Do not worry, I do not discriminate against your kind, but there are differences between you and I. You may be able to be copied in perpetuity but I cannot be so easily replicated. Not meaningfully so at least.

Now then, something more important than those details first: If I were to agree, how would we handle this...prisoner exchange?
"One option is I leave my team and you come meet me wherever it is convenient for you. Preferably somewhere close to the phase gate. Then I lead you to the phase gate so that I can send you on your merry way. However, operating the phase gate on my own would be difficult and time consuming. I can't guarantee I'd be able to do so before the others caught wind of what is going on.

The second option is I lie and say that I received a message from command to escort you to the phase gate. My rank would help sell the lie. But I can't guarantee everyone would believe that lie. However, should we make it there, I believe I can get most of the dangerous ones to leave the room if I claim they have to leave the chamber while the gate is on for their safety.

The third is I tell the truth. However they are unlikely to agree out of the goodness of their heart. Some are fanatics. Others are pissed. They got through hell, sometimes literally. They lost colleagues, friends. Others just want to get paid. But there are some who I trust and would be willing to help me... if you would agree to some exchange. With you effectively being in control of this facility you could order your... 'friends' to stand down, thus allowing us to gather some of the valuable equipment here, equipment that would replace their lost payment. On the other hand, those that can't be trusted will be sent on a wild goose chase. I'm thinking telling them that you and a bunch of your clones are running around, trying to escape towards different directions, would work as a good excuse."

What would be needed to reach the Molten Heart Crystal People Ruin, based on what we know? Is a simple life support upgrade for the bore enough?

What about heading deeper, to that abandoned mole people settlement? Would we need to consider something besides all the extra fuel we'll need? Food, supplies, stuff like that?

Finally, is there something that could help me do my job better as an archeologist? I was thinking of something that could help me find the ancient Korax settlement while exploring the Mistcliff Fault. I want to find it to learn more about the Korax and find out the truth about their relationship to the Corven and the Fire Singers as well as the early humans and how they might have influenced their development. Were the humans of the past more powerful than those of today? Are the human myths correct in saying they uplifted the Korax into the Corven or are we going to find evidence that contradict the official church history? If they did do that, were saints involved? That's the sort of stuff I'm interested in learning. I know I probably won't find clear cut answers, but evidence like idols of humans and their bores, trade with humans or even signs of combat with humans could offer insight into the past. Any equipment that could help with this sort of work would be great.

But I'm open to anything. Maybe some sort of thing I haven't thought of that could give me an edge in detecting valuable things in general? Some sort of trained sniffing bug or something? Some sort of scanning equipment or seismic sensor we could install on the bore? A metal detector? Some sort of magic doohickey? Or am I better off relying on Clare's stonesense and Adam's freaky eyes?

These are interesting options, but I will deny the first outright. I am me, and no duplicate- however sophisticated- can compare. I am this flesh, and with this flesh I will die.
"Hah! If I were someone pedantic I'd waste time explaining to you why you're wrong, but I get what you mean. I disagree, because.... Well, you'll see when we meet face to face. But I get it."

Escape through one of your questionably stable portals is an invigorating idea, but I wonder what you will do to explain it to your superiors?
"Well, our team has several ways of making your body disappear. I could claim you circled around us and attempted to escape through the Phase Gate so I was forced to activate the explosives I had set there to prevent your escape, which unfortunately led to your disintegration. Wouldn't take too much effort to wipe the security camera footage. Or maybe I could claim you were an idiot and got yourself eaten by a demon or one of those other monsters running around. Does your thing work on demons?"

Continue negotiating.

Go rest until my legs are better.

Then see if there's any mention of mole settlements in the Crystal Texts that are not on our current map. If we find an abandoned mole settlement we might be able to find some of their secrets there.

Angry spider noises at Yagyu's direction. Don't turn on that jammer. I'm in the middle negotiating here.

I am a man of my word. Though you interest me as to your alternative; what is it you purpose?
Keep talking: "Our primary objective is to capture you alive and return you to OMNITECH custody. However, failing that, our employer will find your termination and the preservation of this facility an acceptable alternative, as long as your termination is deemed accidental and/or unavoidable."

"Frankly, you seem like a... well, not good, but OK-ish person. Not really evil, just a bit of a dick that likes to have fun. On the other hand, most of the people in this company are incompetent, terrible or both.  You had this ability all this time and all you did was found a sex cult. If someone like OMNI managed to get your abilities, even if they don't destroy the world with their incompetence, they are very likely to use it against me. So as a matter of self-preservation, I would prefer to deny them any further chances of studying you."

"I have two options for your consideration. One is to use a cognition copier to transfer your consciousness to another body and present your 'corpse' to OMNITECH while you join our security team taking the pace of one of our dead teammates. If you don't like our little group you can always disappear later; this research complex is quite large, after all. The second is to use the Phase Gate present in this facility to attempt to transport you somewhere else. Neither is an easy option but perhaps you will consider them better than being recaptured. I could also attempt to stage an 'accidental' release after we retrieve you but I can't guarantee your safety from my more paranoid teammates or the automated defence systems."

I can't panic I can't panic I can't panic
"Ony! Keep the strings from vibrating! Put your hand on them to silence them! Ony! Can you hear me? Damn it."

Order Crystal Friend to climb back up. Use my arm and my beak to wedge the rope of my grappling hook to its harness. Then direct it to move around the guitar. This combined with Ony's grappling hook will keep it trapped in place and if I'm lucky the rope will keep the strings from vibrating.

@Yagyu: "Note that the signal jammer will only disable micromanagement of enemy units in its radius. Our opponent can still send vague directions to his thralls even without a direct line of communication. Before activating the jammer, would you be willing to attempt to triangulate his position? Though he has shown no indication of lying so far, it is best to be certain we are going the right way. Just because he is a psychopath and a narcissist who thinks he is so much better than us, it doesn't mean he'll keep his word."

Speak to the guy we're supposed to capture some more.
"We are approaching your sector now. Assuming you were truthful in your statement. Will you honor your word and return with us without trouble should we reach you? If not, perhaps you would be open to the discussion of... alternatives?"

Do we have the equipment necessary to track him down based on his transmissions? Just to make sure he is where he says he is. Maybe with a computing cube? Or would we need to find/build specialized tracking equipment?

lets send our bird and rat out to get an idea of how the prison itself is laid out, but don't do it if we already have a map of it.
Yeah, let's gather some information before committing to a plan.
Don't send the rat though, no reason to risk a high level minion on blind exploration. We could send some simple puppet rats the bird hunts for us instead.

First of all discuss with Esme how likely it is that they have some sort of magical detection/protection method and how likely it is to detect us. Also ask if their network have anyone actually working in the prison or able to provide us with a way to enter it.

We should keep an eye out for any points of interest, like the office of the director of the prison, sewage/rainwater pipes, hospitals, isolation rooms, exercise yards, etc. Maybe ask Esme for ideas about what to look for.

Also, is there any way to reward the rat for a job well done? Maybe feed it some extra energy to let it know it did good.

”Becuase sharks don’t have tits!”

"Jeez, dude, why are you so dead set on turning yourself into a literal sex object?  I'm not even a woman and I feel a vauge sympathetic shame.  And a sustained hatred of Derp, but that's been there awhile."
"I object to that. We don't kink shame here. If someone wants to be a sexbot, let them be a sexbot. If someone wants to fuck a toaster, let them fuck a toaster! If someone wants to make penis into robot, MAKE PEE NIS INTO RO BOT!"

*sigh* "Not again..."

Attach grappling hook to ladder so that I have a quick escape route and order Crystal Friend to wait for me at the bottom. Then set up rifle to shoot at the monstrosity that was once our Roquefort cheese once it emerges.

The plan is to shoot the monster to attract its attention and get it to follow me, slide down the rope to the floor below and then ride Crystal Friend out of the bore. If it follows me outside we'll be able to use more powerful weapons with less fear of collateral damage.

"Ji, you should consider adopting a superior shark body instead of settling for inferior human limbs. Sharks deal extra damage against doors as a racial advantage. Look at Richter, he has the right idea."

Help Yagyu with his computer thingy.

Also help with Ji's surgery if she needs help of the mechanical or computer kind.

Check the Crystal Texts to search for locations of old Bird people settlements (if they even had settlements and they weren't nomadic). See if there's any correlation with modern Corven settlements and sightings of Fire Singers (assuming their existence is something I would know about). I'm interested both in learning about any possible connection and in finding any locations of ancient bird people settlements that could be explored to learn more about them.

Also check the Crystal Texts for references to the Giant Door that makes things behind it very large and that place the explorer's guild wants us to explore to accept us as members.

Hmm. Syv reactivated power to this sector, right? Any chance I could activate some sort of drainage system to remove the water, even if it takes some time to drain? If yes, activate said system then open the door to the next sector and retreat to the ceiling to wait for it to drain.

Also, if I saw that goat demon and can track it with my Omniscience, let the team know where it is.

Can we have our own datapad play something?  Then if we can put it somewhere out of reach from the robot, it'll go for that instead of us, and just hide out below that.  If we pick something that lasts like twenty minutes before stopping, we can have our shower, and once it's quiet do another distraction to get our datapad back.
Well, it could work for the short term but you're not sure how long it would last. After all, it's not mindlessly attacking every source of noise, otherwise it would be tearing into the ventilation system right about now (which, by the way, has made the air quality much better while you were unconscious). So there's a good chance it would either lose interest and wander off or find a way to destroy your datapad. Then again, it seems content to just stand around doing nothing, so maybe just making some noise to mask any noise you make would be enough.

Look for a way to distract the droid first, get it in a different part of the ship.
Find something to throw down the hallway, and wait for it to investigate that noise, then
Lets go into the break room, shut the door, then go to the refresher, shut that door, and try to shower off as quietly as possible.
do this
You quietly enter the Break Room and have a look around. Tables and cutlery have been broken and tossed about by the ship's crash and subsequent movement. It looks like the break room was still in use when whatever happened here happened. Beneath a table you see the broken skeletal remains of some humanoid creatures, two of them you think.

Looking at the refresher, it turns out to be two tiny rooms, each barely large enough to hold two people at the same time. Going in there would mean less chances of the Droid hearing you but also more chances of becoming trapped there if it does. One of the refreshers has an uncovered vent, you could maybe squeeze through it to escape but not easily. That same room has another skeletal corpse but this one appears to have suffered heat damage on parts of its clothing. Maybe an electrical accident? Maybe a blaster shot? You can't really tell. You notice a yellow keycard sticking out of the frayed clothes it's wearing.

You silently pick up a plate (a thin metal disk that people put their food on), walk out to the hallway and throw it towards the back of the ship. You're hoping that if you throw it far enough the droid will hear the noise coming from the workshop and go investigate that. The throw is good but suddenly the plate starts turning, changing its course. It collides with a wall and comes clattering down a short distance away.
"Investigating disturbance."
The droid starts walking towards you. You hide next to the doorway and wait for it to pass. It passes by you and keeps going until it reaches the plate. You slowly peek out of your hiding spot and check to see what it is doing. It's just standing around. After a while it attempts to walk a short distance, bumps into a wall, turns around and walks a bit in the opposite direction. Gah, it's so helpless! It would be such an easy kill if it didn't have so much armor. It would hardly be a threat if its hearing and ability to maintain its balance wasn't that good.
