DF Gameplay Questions / Very weird military behaviour

Whenever I order a squad to kill anything, it stands near the exit of my fort (walls are around the fort, with a 5 tile wide exit).

The marksdwarves just shoot bolts at the wall endlessly and the melee just stands around. There is a trade depot in the vicinity.

Any idea what causes this? It's frustrating because a wereoposum just ruined a few of my dwarves because the military had the bug.

I made a hospital which was in need of cloth. At the same time a caravan arrived. Now all my dwarves are looting and plundering the caravan of all cloth.

Will this give me a bad disposition with humans, should they consider it stealing?

You can set autosave in the Lazy Newb Pack settings if I recall correctly.
Not sure about cross platform though..~

In my fortress everyone prefers hauling over doing their jobs. I can disable them all, yet then I would have no haulers and waiting for new migrants is not feasible. I need to fix this. since my production is based upon demand and not mass production, I want dwarves that have nothing to do to haul items, yet when I give an order I want them to stop hauling. My dorfs do not seem to understand this!

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!  8)

I don't think you can name your dogs...Maybe using DFHack or something.
Anyways, just unassig them to the pen and I think your troubles will be gone!

You should also make sure you have enough bolts to supply all of your dwarves ánd assign ammunition in the military screen.

Is there a cap to history? And if there is not, would an otherwise good world turn into a barren wasteland over time because of civilization influences?

It's impossible to build a single wall without a job cancellation because my dwarf is on the tile it's supposed to build a wall on.
Are there any fixes for this? Because I'm constructing above ground and I've had to make all kinds of tedious contraptions for every single tile. I've been working on getting a 5x5 square house up for 2 years now building ramps/destroying walls etc.

Have you tried using a cave-in?

How could one cause a cave-in above ground ánd on a higher Z level than 0?

Isn't magma mist sulphur or something? But indeed, I it's a bug, I was able to recreate it. Has it been reported yet? (@Quietust)
