btw, skills? got no mason, no carpenter, no metalsmithy, no butcher, no... clue how competent dorfs are in their respective fields.
I typically take either 1farmer or 2dorfs splitting fishing,hunting,butcher,tanner,leather,cook between them. obviously the butcher takes most of the labors...

Get back to work. Stash half a day's ration, and attempt to wake early the following shift. trace chains to point of orgin. Prepare ambush if determined to be ideal. Escape chambers if possible.

smash two crystals together. use clothing to make torch if possible. shaft of pickaxe is handle of torch.
