Ok. Since nothing works, we don't have anything, and we're too incompetent to acquire salt which could be easily bought at any grocery store, then just shoot ourselves now.

How did we not have salt anyway? Are we that existentially challenged that we have no groceries?....

I Don't suppose our hammer and nails were eaten by a grue or something too? Traditionally, iron nails worked just fine for enforcing boundaries on magical creatures.

(( a DC 10 craft mechanical check, and one unit of Mechanicall parts in addition to the stick will get you the torch. You need a solvent of some kind for a reliable burn time, or a greasy rag or something. A chemical component would also work.))

(( The body has nothing on him. his clothing is to torn up to be useful, and it looks like something tried to eat the leather holster. also, you may want to chill out a little bit, I don't mind accidental meta, and even that is debateable, since Ethan announced the results of his rolls.))

The barn is clear. A more through search such as for supplies, would take some time, but you are confident nothing dangerous is there.

((And if you are unclear with the technical terms, it just means that his throat was ripped into, and his blood was drained. Lividity is caused by blood settling, and since there is no blood....))

4 spent casings, eleven rounds left in the gun. Bullet marks left in the rocks near the cave. His throat was bit out, very precisely, the other damage having been inflicted post mortem. The bite injuries are very deep in only a few places, notably over the jugular, consistent with injuries left by fangs. The injury is nearly bloodless, and none of the usual postmortem lividity is evident in the body. The spread on the bullet holes indicates he was firing haphazardly, as if he was taken by surprise. There are mild burns  evident in what's left of the chest.

The corpse is pretty fucked up. His arm was almost pulled off, for one. A treat injury check will give you basic forensic information.

His sidearm lies a few feet away, in the shadow of a rock. A cursory examination shows it to be a 10mm Glock, popular for it's stopping power.

Paprika sees nothing more threatening than an odd tumbleweed, and a mutizard hanging on the wall a few feet away from the cave entrance. While as large as a small dog, they are known for their extremely laid back temprement, and are mostly content to sleep and enjoy the odd drink of morning dew.

The object appears to be a corpse. It's really torn up, almost as if a pack of wild animals decended on it. Search checks please.

The barn appears empty, save for the skeletons of old animals. Scavenging it would take some time, possibly several hours.

I doubt he can phase through walls, but we should be prepared, by etching
a circle on all walls and the ceiling, leaving the only entrance as the door.

Doesn't really matter if he phases through a wall to get in. Or smashes through it. So long as the circle confines him once he crosses it.

And if he can bypass it by moving in three or more dimensions, then the entire premise was flawed from the beginning and he was never confined in the first post to begin with.

However, that would be an excellent way to toy with the mind of an intrepid summoner. After all, the look on their face before you eat them would be priceless.

Move our bed to the middle of the room.

Then, construct a protective magic circle around it for the purpose of keeping things out. Construct a second circle, slightly larger, encasing the first circle, designed to keep things in. Then go to sleep.

When the demon shows up, he won't be able to get in because the interior circle keeps him out. While we're talking to him...we can "accidentally" smudge the circle with our foot, thereby breaking it...allowing him in. Once he crosses the threshold of the external circle which is only built to keep things in...we simply step over both of them, leaving the demon trapped inside.

Keep the bedroom door and window CLOSED with the cat outside. We don't want him breaking the circles before the demon gets here.

Tie a piece of rugged, pocked plastic to the end for use as a butt-spike on the axe. Then place the plastic pieces and scrap metal in the metal. You never know when you could need it. Also, examine furnace.

At this distance, it's hard to make out, but there appears to be an object of some sort near the mouth. In addition, the barn is nearby. The structure appears relatively intact.

The Ferry has arrived, after a particularly viscious radsquid was forced off the side, and beaten to death with the nearest heavy object.

Some mood music

You begin the long and ardous trek out into the wastelands. The day is clear, without a cloud in the sky, and quite hot. The rusted hulks of old vehicles line the roads, by now picked clean of all valuables. The ancient tarmac sticks slightly under the soles of your shoes, as the dust and ash blows along the ground. The terrain is clear, with the occasional rolling hill and rocky outcropping, but your sightlines are quite clear. After some time, you see your destination, only a short distance away.

What do you do?

Yeah, I think dwarves wearing and wielding slademantine is a bit much. Legendary shield user is pretty much your only hope at that point.

How do we have a body susceptible to damage anyway?

Grab skeleton femur, and attach the blade of the table saw to create a crude axe, using the unbent part. SHould that not work, attach a spike made of scrap metal to the head for a crude bec-de-corbin.
