I would like to apologize for my sudden dropping-out of the roleplay. Unfortunately, I have a lot on my plate, more than I can handle at present. Sorry for not cutting off earlier, but this seemed interesting and I didn't want to. I realize this was probably dragging down the story.Stay.
Unless you would like me to stay, I would hand in my resignation.
You didn't discover a single one. So no, not really.Wrong.
I still get credit for discovering them right? As the only scientist here, aside from Haurk, who only studies rocks, yes, you get the title, likely with a side-note for Reggie since he speaks Latin and gave you the names. The other Migrants aren't credible researchers or even doctors, therefore they did not "discover" them. Thats the way discovery works. Even though human beings lived on the continent of North America for ages, and other Europeans had even visited the place hundreds of years before him, Christopher Columbus, as an explorer, is still accredited with discovering the New World.
((Ugh.))((Oh wow. Thanks for the warning chief. *Previous Action Edited*))
From here
"Of course it matters..." Ria said to herself as she strode out and into the corridor after thanking the doctor. The feeling awoke her inner fears, mostly on the sense of liking it. Drug addiction was one thing, but the conjunction given by the doc unsettled her.
She looked at the syringe with a tinge of guilt before stowing it away in a safe location.
Head to Research Sector, question if I could modify any of the rifles for personal use.
(( Hell no the dice did there job. Your the tit who threw a grenade at a Slooped roof. ))((I agree. None of that really needed to happen, although it did provide a way to get inside! (Yay!) I'm also not sure why the team opened fire on the building when they knew the entryways were shielded.))
))You take a deep breath and try to get moving again. [3] Your brake hand slips momentarily and you begin to pick up speed. You're having a hard time regaining control and getting your brake hand back into position. The line smokes as it flits through your guide hand, the only thing keeping you from going into free-fall.QuoteI'M A LEAVE!((Never change man, never change.))
Continue descent.
"Sh*t!"You stare in horror, mouth agape, as Yhgi tackles Vincent to the ground and the line pulls tight against the edge of the cliff. You're about to hop down and go man the friction point yourself when Vincent jumps to his feet and dashes over to grab the rope. You plop back down onto the deck and watch the scene play out with bated breath.
Lock the brakes, man the point until Vincent is back on the job. Then, return to my post.
((God, that made me laugh [the action post, not Reggie's impalement]. Great job, me.))You stand up and are about to deliver a heartfelt apology when Vincent rolls to his feet and sprints towards the rope urgently. Whats eating him?
Yhgi dusts himself off after his compulsive mega-leaf-hug, and helps Vince up. After apologising many times for making a scene, he mutters something about making references and attempts to get Vincent to re-man the friction point before everyone falls to their doom.
Keep watching the rockYou grit your teeth and slog on, staring at the rock with a mixture of watchful diligence and world-sundering fury. DO SOMETHING DAMN YOU!!
After a moment of confusion about what he was seeing Reggie felt a surge of panic which he quickly fought back down. He thought back to his survival training. All his instructors said that people in trouble often lost control because they let themselves get overwhelmed. Break this into manageable chunks. Figure out what to do first: I'm not alone; Report the problem. Then figure out the next thing.
Radio: "Reggie here. Be careful at the bottom, there are crystals here that are like ice picks. I botched my dismount and I've get a few straight through my shoulder. I'm not sure I can move without doing more damage."
While moving as little as possible attempt to determine if the crystals are attached to the ground.
Contingency 1: If they are not, get up. If I can still do anything else knock down any spike clusters near the rope with my pick only using my left arm.
Contingency 2: If the crystals impaling me seem to be fixed in place lie there and hope I'm not bleeding too much.
((I think Reggie is going to need help with this when more of you get down. He know how he wants to handle this though so don't do much until he asks pls))
Vincent gets back to the line as quickly and safely as possible. You hop to your feet, shoving Yhgi out of your way as he begins reciting the first line of an emotional haiku about the wonders of Autumn, and run over to the line, pulling it up and into your arms and taking all of the weight before having Jim release the brakes and drive towards you to create some slack. Once this is done, Perrin takes your position so that you are free to set yourself up on the friction point. Following your preparations, you work together with Perrin to get you back into place. Friction Point manned, cable intact.
Alanoran has been auto'd.[4] You make some progress, but not much. You nearly lose your hold a few times, but otherwise you've done fine.
