So. How are we going to deal with these six-armed Super-rillas? Any ideas?
Oh, theres only one. If you had to deal with them constantly, or multiple times, that would suck. The chances of you running into him again are remote at this point (which was my intention), but if you plan to colonise the planet totally, then at some point you will have to deal with him. He's technically an endgame prospect, but I don't plan on this game ever ending. ^-^

if you guys want i can sketch up a few concepts of the creatures we run into. (I like to draw so i'm always looking for ideas.)
I would be ultra-stoked if you did that. Will they be scanned or done on MS Paint (or similar)? PM one of them to me if you ever get around to it.

You check the digital readout near the sights on your pistol (20/20). You also have one spare magazine (20/20).

You all pile into the airlock. The noise outside stops abruptly.

Everyone was there. Your right arm twitches as you imagine it lifting your glass high while you and the others gather around the half-eaten feast laid before you, and then guffawing as Reggie loses his grip on your shoulder and instead snags the tablecloth, throwing the platters high and knocking utensils askew, pulling an entire bowl of egg salad directly down on top of his head. He drunkenly wipes globs of mayo and greens from his eyes, flinging them at Gordon as they both break down into raucous laughter, and then passes out on the floor, the yellow goop still drying on his head.

Fall back for a short moment and pour your efforts into fixing the pulse laser. Perhaps that RPB did it? If the weapon remains unresponsive, gird your loins and open the hatch. Crawl out onto the torso of your 'mech and see what the hell went wrong. Once repairs have been completed, hop back in and cover the grenadiers.
I am presently having a weapon malfunction. I will attempt to remedy this myself.

Use the shield. Better to avoid dying first of all.
You lift the shield in your left hand and hold your blade in the right. The shield will give you full body coverage when held in front of you, and extremely effective stability when planted on the ground. You can hardly see around it though, and you'll be hard pressed to get strikes in while defending.

The creatures are growing ever more fervent in their assault. If you don't deal with them, they're bound to damage something important. All the Migrants receive a simultaneous update from the Migrant Office:

Grab the mining laser, as it's a lot better than a multitool. Firmly place helmet and prepare for everyone to get ready. Get shield thing ready, and lastly check if the building thing has any weapons mounted on it.
The mining laser is too big for you to carry it one-handed, as is the shield, and sadly, even future buildings don't come with free artillery.
We really should work on that.

"Shit. Just our luck to run into alien predators. What weapons do we have, guys?"

Take stock of weaponry.
You draw your trusty M34 Hand Laser and cradle it lovingly. Perrin is presently hefting his Energy Refractor and checking the settings to prevent further 'accidents', while Vincent is cowering in a corner and muttering in some science wonk language that you can't understand. Aneos appears to be having a serious mental debate between the merits of smashing skulls with his massive shield, melting arms off with the mining laser, and carving throats out with his three-inch Energy Knife. Decisions….

Quickly open windows.
You rush past two others as they groggily wander about and accidentally push Vincent into Jim. Their visors making a dull fishbowl ring as the bounce off of one another. You reach the wall nearest the airlock and slap the polarisation switch. The windows lose their opaque quality and you see two large creatures flash by. They're circling the building slowly and occasionally lashing out at it without much effect. Its too dark for you to make out much, but they appear to resemble bears when it comes to their towering shape and husky physique. The similarities end there however. It has a total of 6 limbs, two round, long, club-like legs with reversed knee joints (like a velociraptor) situated at either end of the beast, and two more hanging limply below its chest that end in points. You can't quite see what their faces look like, aside from the strangely piercing grey eyes. Your trance is broken when it lunges at the wall near you. They can't see you from the other side of the transparent wall, but they know you're inside. You begin to sweat profusely and your hand involuntarily tightens its grip on your weapon.

Once windows are transparent, see what's causing the noise.
After running into Vincent, you shake the cobwebs from your head and direct your attention to the beasts circling outside. They look lethal, even from here.

It is just before dawn. You're all suddenly awoken by an unnaturally loud banging between long, drawn out chalkboard scraping. It sounds like something is literally punching the walls repeatedly, and the resulting racket is incredibly irritating. It just doesn't end does it? You all groan and get to your feet, shouldering weapons and donning your helmets.

Get into the nearest building! Leave the door open for the others, and slam it after anyone who wishes to enter makes it in. Get up a few floors and search for a window from which I can see the robot.
