Oh, why not. I'll throw in my character idea as well:
Name: Krikt
Gender: Female
Age: 11
Class: Engineer/Brawler
Race: Magically altered insect (ant)
Element: Light
Skills:
1 - Brawler
2 - TBA (however, given the choice between Ant Strength and Thick Exoskeleton, I'd go with the second one. Perseverance, if I have to choose from the skill list)
3 - TBA
Physical description: as befits a frighteningly enormous ant, Krikt’s body is fully 1.8 meters in length. Standing securely on her six legs and sporting a chitin-plated body, Krikt, even in this strange world we call home, is a sight to behold. Her antennae never seem to stop moving, probing the air for something beyond the sight and ken of humans and probably most others as well. Her emotions, if she indeed has any, are impossible to read from any sort of body language. It is, however, quite difficult not to feel somewhat intimidated by her undeniably sharp jaws, even though Krikt herself would maintain that they are used mostly for scavenging and not impressive at all. The Mark of Ecid seems to have manifested right between her two compound eyes, further adding to the alien appearance of the creature.
Biography: Once an ordinary worker ant, Krikt underwent a curious transformation at the tender age of two months. At this point, a strange mark that had been there since her birth began to emit an even stranger white glow. It was not a day before Krikt started to grow rapidly, reaching about twice her former size in a week. Soon enough the anthill that had been her home for ages became too small for her, and she had no choice but to stay outside, guarding her home from intruders.
However, the magical transformations she had been undergoing were far from over. Not only did Krikt keep growing physically, but mentally as well. The mysteries of magic, being what they are, seemed to be far from done with her. In fact, soon she had become altered to such a degree that her entire sense of scale, location and home had been totally thrown off. Confused and distraught as much as an ant her size could possibly be, Krikt went on a rampage through the wilderness, eliminating any threats she could see, hear and smell.
After carving a wide swath of destruction through the forest for several weeks, Krikt finally collapsed from exhaustion and was eventually noticed by a wandering hunter. Thinking Krikt to be dead, he carried her off to his cabin in order to better study the hideous magical beast.
When Krikt awoke, she, angered by the unfamiliar surroundings she was in, tore the hunter to pieces and took possession of the cabin, whereupon her natural imperative to build and reshape took over, and within a week she transformed the hunter’s log cabin into a scaled-up version of the anthill, using all manner of materials she could get her jaws on.
After a while, one of the hunter’s friends, a mage of minor power, came to see what could have happened to his friend. When he found the anthill, he was shocked. However, that was nothing compared to the shock he felt when he met the occupant. A giant ant bearing the mark of Ecid? How utterly bizarre. Of course, he was spared the shock of seeing his friend’s corpse by virtue of the fact that his bones had been picked clean and used to stabilize a certain wall. Completely dumbfounded by this development, the mage chose to subdue the ant and take it to a place devoted to Ecidites – the Bastion.
Once she had been safely delivered to the Bastion, Krikt was carefully studied, and, once it had been established that she was indeed a creature born of a magic anomaly most peculiar, they chose to keep her there and initiate her to human ways, for it was soon apparent that Krikt of all creatures, having very little sense of self and a community-oriented mind, is attuned to the element of Light.
After many years of education, Krikt was deemed humanlike enough to be allowed near other people. They had even taught her human speech, though she is only able to speak it through magic, which is quite arduous for her. The result is that Krikt is a reliable, though incredibly codependent servant, seeking to always fit into a community of some kind, the only thing she can have now that resembles the anthill that she sprang from.
Inventory: hunter’s fingerbones (unusable for building, kept in air pocket under exoskeleton), collected formic acid (do not let it make contact with your skin), ant pheromones (allow to leave a permanent breadcrumb-style trail).
