My veteran elite squad descended the stairs and killed off 3 forgotten beasts that came rushing upwards.
Now my children are frolicking through hell like its nobodies business, not a single demon to be found.

There must be a fourth tube, and i cant seem to find it...

I found 3 strands, all are mined out to the bottom where the next lower level is open space over what i suppose is hell since its slade all around.
One or two had hollow spots, but I didnt get any message, no demons spawned and they are empty now, so i suppose there might be a fourth.

So basically all 3 strands are tubes enclosed in semi-molten rock and terminate at Z-level -66.
I start seeing hellish terrain at around lvl -63, enclosed by a rectangular wall of semi-molten rock.
Level -67 is all around hellish terrain but with open space under all 3 tubes with slade floor nearby but too far to "land", and level -68 under the tubes is slade floor.

Can i construct an up/down stair to "bridge" an empty space z-level?
Will it "activate" hell?

The green path goes from the depot to the edge of the map, see where it ends.

So i decided to end my fortress by breaching hell.
Problem is, i cant find it.

I see hell, i see glowing pits, i see forgotten beasts down there, but i cant find a way in because semi-molten rock seperates this world and the next whereever i poke downwards...

Ive mined out 3 strands of candy, but none appearently breached the circus, and im desperatly looking for a fourth.
Is it possible that a tube starts below the magma sea where i cant mine it because its "walls" are made up from molten rock which i cant pierce and its covered by lava on top?

Mandrills and Gibbons.
Madrills just because, you know, mandrills, and gibbons seem to be the felines amongst the the simians in terms of breeding.
And War jaguars. They are cats, breed like hell, can be war-trained and eaten.

If only they mandrills could ride them into battle...

STOP MAKING ARTIFACT CLOTHES.

I only have 1 useful artifact at this point, a Pine Door. The others are 3 clothing items and a figurine. Fuck you guys.

Stupid question, but is artefact clothing as indestructible as other artefacts?
In other word, is it impenetrable by mundane weapons, making it the ultimate lightweight armor?

So I tweaked minimum volcanoes from 3 to 10. And that's pretty much it. The very first world I genned stuck a volcano right in my face throughout the whole generation process. In fact, the RNG is handing me everything I need on a silver platter.

That plateau is basically the only flat land until the bottom of the mountain, way to the south (I used a 5x3 embark because I was afraid there would be none at all). The slopes seriously cut into the tree numbers, but I should be able to free up the wood eventually: that yellow dirt inside the wall is pure unadulterated sand. I'm looking forward to making one big freakin' green glass fortress.

So far, the RNG has been showering me with gifts. I'm anxious to see what else it's going to shower me with...

i cant really decipher the ascii, but cant enemies get up the hillside over those slopes left and right, and just enter your fort over the slopes inside the walls?

Cant you turn this into a perpetum mobile?

Im imagining the following setup:
.) 2 rooms, 1x2 each, above each other
.) lets label the tiles 1-2 from left to right
.) an up stair on tile 1 on the lower level, a downstair on tile 1 of the upper level
.) a pressure plate linked to the bridge on tile 2 (the burrow) on the lower level
.) a 1x1 stockpile designation on the drawbridge (upper level)
.) at least 2 non-lethal objects in the burrow that the stockpile above accepts

Da plan: Dwarf is in his room under the drawbridge, suddenly overcome by the compulsion to store the item in the pile above him.
He takes the item, goes over the stairs, drops the item in the stockpile.
Then he will go to take the second item, activates the pressure plate, opening the bridge, dropping the item from above on himself. Bridge resets after that (if i read that correctly in the wiki).
He now has again 2 items to get to the stockpile, a valid path since the bridge is closed, and the circle begins anew.

To avoid starvation abd such, you could add a 1x1 tile with a bed that has a channel above it where food and drink are dropped down.

Would that work?
