i think you are just channeling the water into another aquifer 1 level below, aquifers can absorb unlimited amounts of water so the flood doesnt spread past that tile

Just to clarify with the artifact:
1. Started a new fort in 1050.
2. An alunite earing was made.
3. The dwarf holding it headed into the nearby cave in an attempt to cear up a corpse.
4. A kobold theif made of with it (I couldt retreive it due to the cave spiders).
5. My fortress starved to death.
6. Made an adventurer who started in a town near the fort.
7. Started looking at the engravings  and noticed the oddity.

Its possible to sell bugs such as large roaches to merchants, then pick them up and sell them again, then pick them up and sell them again etc etc.

EDIT: also another minor bug:
The nearby temple has quite a few engravings of an artifact one of my
dwarves created, however the actual used symbol is different for each engraving (they are all of an earring but one is the refuse 2 another is a weapons \ and another is an oak symbol.

arent olms rodent thingies, if so they randomly appear in water and trivial thinks like grates traps and lack of parentage wont stop them.

the point is the dragon managed to fall in the lava, even if its not magma proof it should know not to wade in there.

Playing on a 17x17 map I settled at a goblin fort and got slaughtered when to reclaim it but after my soldiers arrived all the goblins had gone, the buildings were still there but no goblins.

Ive got a very wierd brook here which only exits in my moutain biome where it should pass into the other biome (thinks its tundra biome cant remember) it dissapears can post screenies if you want

lol, think I know why I had such a wierd desert, the flashing is a bug but the wierd position of the ooze may be because I flagged all soil layers as sand

I started a new fort an embarked to a "desert" with siliceous ooze as the sand layer. once I arrived the area which is meant to be siliceous ooze was flashing randomly between everthing else.

I recently removed a constructed wooden floor over a door however the wood is now hovering in the air and removing the door below hasnt affected it.

Further wierdness: building a wall on the square with the wood has caused it to disappear
