Let's just say my smallest mistake thus far was trying a board of monopoly underground, with an ocean to boot.  Aquifers stopped my megaproject cold.

Granted, but you miss out on a perfectly good wish!

I wish I had a cat lady with me!

Perhaps a drawing of 10 large serrated disks proceeding to massacre one poor crundle would be an idea, or the largest dang cage trap catching the smallest of crundle.  (Pardon me for the odd fixation on crundle.)

Mountainside by far, preferably in volcano.  It's all fun and games until I hit the evil aquifers that support the tree-huggin' elves, and the no-good goblins, ESPECIALLY if it's a flat plain, as then, I can't really get by.  (The aquifer also loves to be multi-level upon me too, so naturally, I absolutely detest aquifers, but that's a different story altogether.)

Better get a new disguise...  time to swipe another hat!  (My god, what am I doing with disguises?  This is almost as bad as the one time I lost both miners to a volcano due to horrible luck with the digging.)

Pride moment:
When my dwarves encountered a blob forgotten beast at Crushpaint, it went into the mineshaft, intent to kill dwarfkind, until in an early desperation move, I sent the dwarves that'd normally be doomed to the blob went to punch and skewer the blob to death with one iron sword and just rags.  CrushPaint appropriately made a slab for the forgotten beast.  Casualties:  1 dwarven militant, given a coffin.  Injuries:  Several cats and kittens suffering a fever and getting better from it.

Also of note:
Kobold attempting to steal from a different fort, just had become unlucky enough to run into a wood cutter.  Cue the kobold getting axed a question he couldn't answer.

Uh oh...  quick ruse time!  Tell him the pickpocket went to the slums with the new hat as a disguise!

Rules I often follow through on:
Danger rooms prohibited (Goes hand in hand with another rule.)
I am NOT to murder any dwarf intentionally.  (Hence no Danger rooms)
Cave-ins are prohibited as weaponization!  (Exception made when there's an embark-wide aquifer...  CURSE THOSE THINGS!  They're worse than bronze collosi!)
Strips of traps are permitted, but only 1 cage trap per strip o' 10.  (I love my sport of crundledisk now.  Can't catch 'em all!)
Exploits in the AI are forbidden.  (So the gobbos have to storm a whole row o' traps, and aren't particularly forced back through.)
I am NOT to intentionally murder a merchant in the caravan!  (Even then, sometimes, the dwarven wagons break down in the trade depot itself for NO reason!)

At Crushpaint, it's now spring, and a woodsdwarf has gone to make an artifact using two logs of wood.  Also of note, are a male crundle and buzzard being caught.  A kobold tried to steal recently, and got away empty-handed.  The magma forges and whatnot are being set up at last, despite 3 years of time.  The fortress is now in the hands of another friend, who I hope won't get unlucky with 73 dwarves who go moody for impossible goods/adamantine.

Aww man!  That was a perfectly good wallet!  Better swipe someone else's wallet and hat to boot!

Hm. I'm the only one to try a tougher enemy? This worries me a bit. Pah, I'm sure a decent sword will be enough against a damn cat.
I'd have considered the best kobold that was available, but well...  given the light gash to the arm...  I'm a bit paranoid hopping to the master kobold would mean the elf'd be a pile o' ribs.

That little wound's going to leave a light scar...  Either way though, Coce did well this time...  and even I kinda expected someone to die here and there.

Investments:
Another rank into armor user! (-20G)

G remaining:  5
Adversary:  Light Goblin

Hopefully, the relatively unlucky incident doesn't turn into something nasty, like a Giant Cave Spider out of nowhere.

Dear BlowingOil Overseer,

How else do you expect me to work on the wall?  There were a few ants on it, and I can't work with ants...  especially if they bite and burn me flesh!  I'd rather swim than burn!  Urist McPumpOperator also hates those pesky magma ants that bite past his trousers, and sees it as a reason to drain the aquifer.

Sincerely,

Urist McCarpenter

The elf's feeling up to a normal Kobold.  If he wins, at least he'll have a meal.
