These look real fun! I am going to HAVE to try Diplomacy. Here's one or two I though could be fun:
- Gone to the Dogs: Replace the starting Anvil with an equal value in dogs.
- Human Town: add the Civ_controlable tag to the humans. You can dig, but can't have any overhanging elements you don't build.
-Biodome: all material, seeds, food, tools, and dwarves must be in the fortress within 1 year. Then, seal up and cave in the entrance. Any new immigrants, well, they might be in trouble. bonus points: build an artificial lake.
-Human Allaiance: Playing as dwarves. start a game centered on a human town. Your goal is to build a wall around the town in stone, using a mine under the town. you do not get to take anything from the town, though the human guards will probably help with any sieges. Bonus Points: after finishing the wall and sealing any cracks, dig down to the aquifer again from the outside and run pumps up the wall. Flood them out of your new town!

DF General Discussion / Alphabetize! And Roll Out!

*Ah waitaminite. Open office did not properly transfer the text. I'm going to try this again. THESE DON'T WORK YET!*

I just took the Language Raws and used openoffice to alphabetize the English translations. It already was partially alphabetized, but there was some on the very bottom out of order. Just a little clean-up. I just organized the raw civ languages, none of the other lang files.
I am hosting these at my server, as raw .txt files. I PROMISE that these are not virusez ur haxx. Oh, make sure to Save As a txt, otherwise your browser will just show them to you. To install them, first back up your language files (located in the RAWS folder, if you can't find them, you shouldn't mess with them) into a separate folder, then copy these files over.

Elf
Goblin
Human

Ohhh, you got my hopes up! I thought you made some... Well anyway, sometimes I take my exported map image and shrink it down and make that my desktop. Don't use the raw image, as it can be so large that it can slow down your computer (not a lot, but slightly).

Either that, or just use paint to make a big D and a smiley face. Instant drama!

what is so fancy about it?
well, it has a HUGE "lake", the size of a small ocean.
and THE ENTIRE MIDDLE is CUT IN HALF by the mountains! there are only two ways to cross the mountains, far,far east, and a narrow western chain of mountain lakes. there is also just one tiny narrow point in the mountains where someone could build a tunnel passage!

Once you have it, start your fort way down by the bottom, third from the bottom and the right on the world map:

right there. Tons of Magnetite AND Limestone with granite bedrock and rich silt in the forest. between the limestone and granite, there is the possibility for nearly every mineral. Now, there is that river source there. starting there, go north two and east three on the mid-map. You are now in the righ spot... now on the mini-map, get a place right up on the right edge.

What is so special about this? in your mind, rotate that cliff to be on the right side...

It's just like old times!!!

I have been looking for a lot mountains against the ocean. I have a very clear mental image of what I want my fortress to look like, with main gates at one end, great windowed rooms opening onto the sea, and interior courtyards and glassed-in gardens. To do it though, I need these tall cliffs against the ocean. Right now, I am playing on #12033, it's Ok, but nothing special.

I would LOVE to play that map! Can you give us the Seed number? what you do is you  change the Init file settings so that it exports world data with the map and then go to the legends screen and export it. There will be a new text file with the world map, and it has the seed number there.
I REALLY want to see that canyon!
