Is there a good way to seperate more experienced dwarves from the new recruits?

While I've found I get less injuries from wrestling, I usually seem to get more fatalities from asphyxiation.

What's the best way to avoid injuries while sparring?

I have 10 military dwarves. 8 of them have pierced lungs from sparring.   :(

How does catch live fish work? When I assign the task my fishery worker walks over to the animal trap, picks it up, and then stands there doing nothing.

Would adding CURIOUSBEAST_GUZZLER to goblins make them come into your fortress when they siege?

Or would siege AI override that?

a kobold ambushing party will go away after a while. They are seperate from thieves so they don't need to steal anything.

The only way might be to put your rope reed in a custom stockpile and block access to the stockpiles with pig tail

I've never tried this, but it might work.
In the military menu, change their armour setting to nothing. Station them in a room that only has the steel armour, lock the door and set them to wear plate again.

I have a stockpile set to take ballista ammo near my ballista. However, the ballista ammo is never moved from the workshop. I had this problem with a barrel stockpile as well. Is there something I'm doing wrong? My other stockpiles seem to work fine, I just can't get the furniture stockpile to work right.

I think the open space you need to build it on is a channel. I don't know if there are any other steps you need to take, as I haven't built one yet.
