So the multiplayer beta is on steam (you have to select the new onlinetest beta branch to play it). Any b12ers interested in trying it out?

edit: So far it hasn't been a terribly fun experience. I imagine finding the right server would help. The servers I tried were pretty well picked over already.

Did you toggle the grapple option in the crewmember's page? It seems to be not working as intended at the moment. A pirate with grapple turned off will grapple to an island but will not grapple back to your ship. The only other situation I can think of is that the crewmember's morale is low and he doesn't listen to you. If the icon above his head is yellow he may sometimes disobey your orders. If that is the case you can try the order repeatedly until he listens or pay him his wage from the crew page which will boost his morale up to full.

They seem to be more interested in drinking than eating even if they are on the verge of starvation death.

Keeping my pirates well fed has been the biggest frustration so far. That and the save times - it seems to take a super long time to save after you've explored more of the map.

Outside of that I've enjoyed the game so far. Looking forward to future updates.

I was wondering what paying or not paying your pirates does. I've noticed that it fills up their morale and that they will upgrade their weapons, but is there any penalty for not paying them for long periods of time?

you only have the one card you are drawing with which to do things

If you find yourself in this situation a lot it might be useful to get rid of some of your lower mana cost cards and/or add some card draw. I started doing better when I remade my decks to have a better mana curve.

As a huge negative to the game, where the hell does it tell you how much gold you have? I'm running in 1280x800, but regardless, that should be front-and-centre at the shop. That's my biggest beef with the game so far. Gold not told. Free, played for, gold.

It's at the bottom right of the screen, right by the game menu button. Maybe try to see if you can see it in windowed mode at a different resolution?

Yes, it's due out Q1 or Q2 this year last I heard.

I would have wished Victoria 3 to make an appearance first - it would have been pretty awesome to have an epic CKII-EU4-Vic3-HoI4 game!
