I was not sure if that was a joke or not, but I ment it as a sarcastic, insulting way of saying they don't play any tcgs.

*Edit, ah got your PM Bork. I knew the game Nertz as Pounce, but it was a long time ago since I've played.

Welcome to the trading cards game discussion!

The reason I don't think it goes in other games is because it's a discussion about the games themselves, playing the games, whatever strikes your fancy. And also, the tabletop games thread is here too.

Personally, I play Magic the Gathering; mostly EDH/Commander and Tiny Leaders. I'm the kinda guy who has more fun building and Tiny Leaders is fun for me because it adds an extra layer to think about, the CMC *converted mana costs, of any cards in the deck have to be 3 or less, including your commander.

I'm also into just collecting cards I find interesting or fun. As maybe an added influence, maybe as a fan of Warhammer 40k, I have a natural calling for human creature types, so the 2 decks I'm running now are mostly White (not racism) Humans with support from maybe neutral Artifact creatures or other types of white creatures, like angels or spirits. Maybe its just the awesomeness of buffed humans facing off against demons and eldrazi and sometimes winning outright.

My white commander deck was borne out of the mono-white commander 2014 set and the red/white commander 2014 set. This one is actually a combo of all white creatures with a little red, mostly human, but includes Kor, Cats, Human, Angels, Giants and Spirits. Kinda the whole "the united races of good stand against the great evil" thing. Also includes Gideon, Ally of Zendikar and Nahiri, the Lithomancer, 2 heroes to help spawn weenies and basically act as micro tanks cuz an opponents not just going to let you spawn free tokens every turn. The commander for this deck is Gisela, Blade of the Goldnight cuz sources dealing double damage to opponents is awesome and opponents sources doing half damage to you is also awesome.

The tiny leaders I have is custom built with some leftovers and is majorly human focused. Human soldiers mainly with human cleric support and various ways to add counters and spawn tokens. The commander for this one is Mikaeus, the Lunarch cuz putting 1/1 counters on everyone every other turn is cool, even cooler with Kytheon/Gideon, Battle-Forged there to untap him once a turn. Lots of soldiers that buff other soldiers or other humans in here. Think a smaller military detachment to the above deck and you're on the right track.

So yeah, that's basically my poison, come talk about your favorite card game and/or entertaining anecdotes about games you've played or general memes about the card games themselves.

WOW!!!

Steven Nuke...

In Mr. Greg... Pearl actually sings a song that might be the best song in the entire series.

Yes... She might have actually beat "Stronger then You"

The episode might have been a BIT weak overall... But dang that song!

I get the impression the reason the writers give Pearl the most songs is because as a singer she is by FAR the most flexible.

Deedee Magno-Hall, Pearl's VA, is a former broadway singer and it shows. Only in 'Mr.Greg' she actually gets to show her A-game specialty and holy shit it was good. Estelle deserves another chance to lay out her singing credentials, her real life songs are pretty good and I'm not sure about Michaela Dietz, Amethyst's VA, being a professional singer but she has potential, so we'll see and it will probably be good.

Edit* About the episode itself, it seems like Pearl's ready to move on and find a new romance. She'll keep Rose in her heart but I definitely see them pushing her character development more in the next Steven Bomb. So, who do we want to ship her with? Not Greg, they're in a friendly relationship and I don't see it moving past that. Same with Garnet. Amethyst's more like a annoying younger sibling to her. Maybe they'll introduce a new human and we'll see how she reacts to being in the same situation as Rose?

And Steven Universe just... had an episode of Initial D.

You don't know the power of the Supremo?

Just had a 6-man Hollywood match where we were all Soldier 76 on attack. It was the greatest thing.

Whenever their Roadhog tried to hook one of us, we all focused fire on him and kill him before he shotgun blasts our comrade in the face. And then one of us put our heal areas down and he shift runs into the area and gets back into the firing line. Whenever we got flanked, 2 of us focused fire on the flanker and the rest kept the rotating line pushing the payload forward. We ended it by rotating our ultis at the spawn doors, killing squishys as soon as they appear and quickly wearing down any tanks.

I may reinstall PS2 because of these discussions, but Overwatch has my nads in a very sturdy grip right now.

I was a vanu player, but as has been discussed, i found most of my guns kinda being ehhh. My primary class and weapon was being a medic with the summer rewards platinum NS11. I loved having my pimp maxed out medigun, rezzes were so fast and could be done from quite a range and the NS11 was just a solid all around performer with the foregrip (if i remember right, the NS had horizontal recoil mostly, which the foregrip was good for) and the soft point rounds.

Jimbo's Rimworld Protip of the day:

Remember to properly vent your power generator rooms; I accidentally created the sauna from hell by having a closed off steel building filled with generators that instantly caused any of my settlers who walked in to drop of Heatstroke and anyone attempting to rescue them also getting struck down by the heat.

Jimbo's freebie tip of the day:

Remember to encircle your turrets with sandbags for protection. 1 improvised gun turret with sandbags singlehandedly took down a 4 man raid by itself with minimum damage in my game and it was glorious.

I decided to check and Umiman's review (reposted by Jimbo) is currently the top one for stellaris in it's review section. Makes me happy for some reason.

The comments on it are also amusing.

It grew bigger then any of us could have ever imagined. It was a funny anecdote that accurately summed up most peoples feelings about the game as it is now, so i suppose it wasn't that surprising.

My Friday to Sunday day off, I bought some Steam sales.
Creeper 3 was some fun time sink, but then I got stuck in the world where you need energy and shield tech.

I bought about $20 worth of a bunch of less than $5 games also.

I played a lot of Guild 2: The Renaissance.  I initially keep getting a black screen. I fixed it by editing the config file and set the show intro to false.
And there's plenty of YT let's play that includes some opening strats for scholar, patron, craftsman, and rogue by "My Dry Bread" something.

Crap, I installed another space game (edit: Cosmonautica), where you start with a ship, buy upgrades, (hire pilot, cleaner, repairer, shooter, cook, science), and do trades or missions within the inner planets.  I still need to research to learn how to travel to mid, and outer rim planets.

I picked up Space Pirates and Zombies SPAZ 1, Orcs Will Die 2, and a few more.

I'm still on the fence if I should pick up Age of Empire II HD, or bite the pack that includes AOE III+ all the others.

Picked up Guild II Renaissance for 99 cents and I've logged 50 hours. It is, in my opinion, the greatest game to ever suck. It's offensively buggy, many systems are grossly oversimplified, and I hate the turn system but most of the ideas and mechanics are really wonderful.

Most of my fondest memories of the game are running my wife's criminal empire from in front of my gem mine (it's a goddamn cheat). All the miners due to the physical work, have really high combat stats so if we get ambushed whoever started it gets rekt.

Bought so far:
Sims 3 +DLC on steam.  Been waiting to do that for a few years now.
CKII DLC, the latest ones.

I've been thinking about the Sim 3, but even 75% off, the entire DLC costs 100 bucks!

CK2 DLC, thanks for reminding me to check this.
Don't buy the stuff packs, Showtime DLC is still 20 bucks, but there is a package deal for the base game +Showtime that brings it down to sales level.
Everything I bought, with Sims3+DLC, CKII DLC(2 latest ones) and DragonballZ totalled less then 100.

I didn't even think about that, thanks. Taking away all the stuff packs and the sims 3+ showtime bundle (I already own the base game, so I'll miss out on a second copy of the sims 3, but still, 7 bucks for showtime). That totals about 56 bucks for all the raw expansions, which is pretty good.

I finally figured out how the whole battle planing thing works with armies, I fucking love it. Holy crap. How did I miss that?

So, it's 1942. WW2 has finally reached America as Japan justifies war. Pearl Harbor doesn't happen, but instead they declare war against the Philippines, which drags the US in.
Which instantly made me ask, 'Why dafuq would they do that?' as they were currently at war with the Soviet Union who gradually push and join in China's defense which causes both sides to pitch into a meat grinder battle, leaving no units to invade the Philippines.
Ah well, time to put the existing ships we have on patrol through the Pacific and go about building forces to help in Europe. France is split between Italy and the Reich currently.

Ya know, I was watching the animated shorts for Overwatch while waiting for Steam to unclog today, and I wondered, why did they make Warcraft as a movie instead of just making an Overwatch prequel movie? I mean, they had the assets and voice actors and the overall plot written anyway (not to mention a whole department making a movie already at the same time as Overwatch's development), so why not work on a movie on the side? A kids Pixaresque movie release of Overwatch a week before release would have doubled as marketing and would have thrown hype levels to the point everyone's collective wallets would spontaneously explode.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Post this as a steam review. More people deserve to see it.

You mind if I quote steal that for my steam review of the game?
