Probably an issue with Robust Genetics/lack thereof and bad/good traits not getting chosen.  Or could be a bug, there've been a few.  Throw up the save and I'll take a look.

17
We've got support for any item to be tagged as ammo, now (needs the data manually entered into it) so water cannons are a real possibility.

18
But, as far as I can tell, only in the Vehicles Addition Pack. I thought someone said it'd been fixed, but apparently it's back?

Just checked and couldn't replicate in the mergetest build I'm testing.  Should be refixed shortly, if it was broken again.

19
Just landed some bugfixes.  Inventory should run a lot more smoothly now, thanks to quite a lot of hard work from Kevin.

20
Then the hulk puts himself into stasis by punching jocan's character.
Thats would be funny XD

Would crash the game too.  :-(

Dynamically messing with the reality bubble isn't going to work: by rights a NPC with a long rifle should be permitted to snipe you from the same range that you could snipe xem, along with all the balance and processing issues associated with changing the radius that gets processed.

Yeah, ram (some folks use a broad one with wheels/drums, to catch mines) is there to hit things so your vehicle doesn't.

Downloaded an experimental the other day, and was able to make a stone pot with 4 or 5 rocks on the ground around me. No other tools, unless a crowbar has hammering function. And even then, trying to make a pot with three rocks on the ground did not work.
Were you using the Vehicle Additions Pack mod in your world? Because like I said, that's what causes the issue.

If not, then it must have somehow been fixed.

Downloaded the latest experimental, picked the assault on precinct Z scenario, and the game dumped me at the edge of a forest after some debug messages about not being able to find police, can't place player, blah blah blah.

So now I'm a detective, out in the middle of assfuck nowhere, with no town in sight. Just rivers and swamps and forest. Plus a couple of farms.

Oh, and a LMOE shelter right there in the middle a patch of forest away.

So, bit of a mixed bag to be honest.

Heard of some weapons being stashed there, huh?  Better check it out.  (Yeah, mapgen doesn't always have a particular location in the overmap.  It happens.  Some places like the mall or LMOE starts have that worse.)

Curses / Re: How to raise juice above 200 with no crime or heat?
« on: December 05, 2014, 12:24:46 am »
Stealing doesn't have a limit to how much juice you can get (or if it does, it's well over 200). This requires a founder with Security and either Disguise or Stealth, though, to pull it off.

Security, incidentally, is fairly easy to get: recruit somebody who has it (e.g. a locksmith), put that person in a squad with the person you want to train, and send that squad to pick locks at the apartments. You only need one person with Security to pick the lock, and everyone in the squad will get lock-picking experience. Furthermore, it's not actually criminal to pick locks in the apartments (just don't do it in front of people).

Last I played, theft was capped at 200.  ?

Mycus?
Big white mushroomy things that like to cover things in spores. Have an annoying tendency of making the arms of the unprepared explode.

What's the link with kitchen?

One of the perks of being Mycus is

On a side note, the Mycus does not seem to like me. I once tried going Mycus, but I never got more than carrier, despite eating several dozen seeds and 3 units of gelatin. The attempt ended when I tried walking up to a tower peacefully due to the suggestion of a forum post. It killed me.

If the tower wants peace, it'll let you know.  The other two are each a 1:11 chance per consumable, so it can take some doing.

Yeah, the emergency jacket is there for shower victims, etc whose shelter spawns 10+ tiles away from the nearest house and who need something to prevent frostbite.  It's supposed to be Cheap Crap.

Oh god.

Bio-Operators.

A character with 10 Melee and 200+ zed kills shot one in the face with an MP5, but a spray of 9mm bullets didn't really phase it. So I pulled out my Steel Spear and, after one attack, died horribly. These things apparently stun you like Shockers do, but also have fancy melee throws that can stun you for even longer and have enough armor to shrug off point-blank burst fire. I'm just glad that they don't seem to be normal zed spawns; I've only seen three, two near military corpse spawns and the one that killed me in a lab.

ooops.  They have the shocker's ZAPBACK defensive capability as well as that lovely CQC takedown.  The steel spear was about the worst possible choice there.

Bionic operators are a cross between the shocker and the soldier zeds, with all the bionic armor.  Two point-blank shotgun blasts are usually enough, and if you're in melee, I'd recommend Judo or something nonconductive (the Louisville Slaughterer might be a good option if you're OK with flaming weapons).

That happened to me some time ago. No idea why he couldn't just look down and see the river of magma and decide "yeah, jumping into that is a bad idea".

Takes a bit of inter-z-level coding (always a PitA) and I tend to think folks should think "hmm, I don't know if there's a way out of there, maybe I shouldn't jump down," so I tend not to consider it worth coding myself.

No. The only light I bring anywhere is the aforementioned night vision goggles.

No. A square can't spawn metal wreckage and mines both. Plus I was standing still putting on night vision goggles.

Well I'm buggered if I know unless there's rocket turrets or tanks with infrared vision.

.50BMG turret is one of the roadblock possibilities.  I'm wondering if the NVGs somehow interacted with it; may take a look.

Update: checked (borrowed a handy sewer) and the goggles did nothing.  If there was a lightning storm, that might have done it.  Otherwise, possibly some other freak lighting.  What you're describing sounds like a fairly freak occurrence.

In any event, latest experimental would have given you a laser-lock warning had the turret targeted you (you have one turn to save your ass, use it well).  It also seriously downtunes tank drones' use of their main cannon, which I designed more to kill smug vehicle-users and tweaked more to that use at the same time.

I'm playing 0.A-2363, and at night all creatures are lit up like shocker zombies, meaning that during night raids I can see every zombie near me. No traits other than Night Vision. Anyone know if this is a bug or not? The changelog doesn't say anything about it.

You might have thermal goggles or something like that equipped, look around your worn items and bionics and see if there's anything that might hint at thermal vision.

I was experiencing the same thing, on a first night rock girl, so I'm pretty sure I didn't have bionics or thermal goggles (though I didn't even have night vision).

Bug, should be fixed in latest.

Slings might actually happen in 0.B experimentals.  Just needs a code overhaul and a hella lot of make-work.
