What I'm not so keen about is having to review every article of clothing made, every public spectacle created, every discussion of someone going with the squad instead of working on the assigned task...

I've cut and consolidated a fair number of those messages over the years; you don't get ones for credit card fraud or prostitution, for example. The ones I've left in have been because they serve an important purpose. It's important to enumerate the clothing made to give feedback on the quality of their work, and to let you work only until you have a first rate item, if you choose. The public disturbances are consolidated into a single message if you have multiple activists in order to reduce message spam, but eliminating them completely would turn Liberal Disobedience into a flavorless option that might as well be cut entirely.

The notifications about going with the squad instead of working on the assigned task are important as a way to ensure players learn the game; without it, not everyone would understand that assigning an activity overrides sending the squad out. That might seem obvious to you, but that's just because you already know it works that way. New players may not. The bother of this message is also mitigated by the fact that it doesn't happen when you're holding w -- it's just a couple messages when you're actively playing.

Curious what messages were cut for Prostitution.  I've assigned Liberals the duty and wondered why they don't seem to accomplish anything, etc.  Since then I've learned via forum/wiki that Prostituting only works every third day (for reasons unknown--no other activity works on an odd schedule) and the Juice hit apparently only takes place 50% of the time or so on an actual working day.

This information was not obvious from the game itself.  Respectfully suggest that more/restored messages may be worthwhile.

What about allowing you to clear newspapers with any key, rather than just space/enter/escape?
That'll work.

My own sense is that I don't think having a sniper should prevent the CCS from raiding you, regardless of whether you have to appoint one or not. They could soften up the raid perhaps, do other things -- but they shouldn't prevent the drama of a raid entirely, just give you an advantage.
And THAT is what I was thinking of.  Snipers would have a chance to prevent Government special-teams people shutting things off, removing tank traps, etc.  (Counter-sniper ought to require high Stealth as well as high Rifle.)

B)An option to hide or show hacking/ clothes making/ clothes repair
I would like to expand on this and say that an option to stop newspaper articles from appearing would be swell, as if one wants lots of time to pass quickly, newspapers sop you form just holding down w.
I second the motion.

I vote yay.

I'm indifferent, but I'm going to vote yes anyway.
Problem if the Newspaper pollutes the public's mind with Wisdom!!!.  (As in, Pro-reagan book, trendy fashions, New Jobs, etc.)  Oppose.

Sniping siege forces?  That seems like something that might (long-term) go into safehouse mods: Sniper/M249 Position.

Purely hypothetical at this point, feel free to criticize/comment: Snipers counter engineer/power cut attempts at the cost of Public Opinion (since you're shooting at the cops), M249 opens up to support the Squad/suppress Government troops as the LCS tries to break the siege.  (Currently, there's no good reason at all to try breaking out of a siege, since the Government shoots first.  If you know of a reason to attack the siege rather than waiting for Escape/Engage and killing them that way, let me know!)

Pretty confident that successful attacks either raise Heart or convert, with conversion happening once Heart > Wisdom.  How the actual attacks work, though, I don't recall off top/head.  Sorry.

Turning my volume knob at the advanced options screen caused the game to skip forward to history choices. Odd, but there you have it.

 ??? ... :-\

...you got me there.
Yeah, I don't know. I think it might actually be on my end. Turning my volume knob also occasionally results in "b" being typed. Weird as hell.
That's probably it: try starting a new game, turning the knob, and seeing if the B option kicks in.

Location/Balance changes (needs re-documented once settled):
No more Commercial District--locations split around, so need to look for them
Only one Downtown Apartment
Only one Polluting Factory (SEA)
Only one vacant building/Industrial (at least in SEA): this may take some adjusting on players' parts

Interface problems: looks like gear can be instantly rebased to any potential LCS facility

Smashing machinery now leaves rubble--what's this all about?

Non-SEA city choices are reflected in news headlines (my LCS is in Philly)

Uh, my squads were dinged for ninja-looting in front of people, as of 465.

The major issue is Heat: Theft, Vandalism, etc don't really draw a police response.

They're not.  LCS combat takes place at point-blank/melee range, so I was considering making suppressed firearms.  Police armory could have MP5SDs; suppressed 9mm handguns could be had at several different locations.  (Suppressor not sold separately to save on coding.)

Obama would still be a Senator, most likely considered Liberal at best.  Young charismatic Liberal Senator might still get a mask.

Well, I'll look into that once I get back to my primary terminal.

Why am I not good at parks???  Problem with parks (leastwise generic parks) is that there's not much to do with them: grass, walls for grafitti, tables for color (you get the same effect by pressing S, since 4.6.1 or so), exit grids in a few areas, etc.

Re media stations: what do people think of the dual-Jury setups?  Would more than one Studio make sense (I'm thinking not, since it sets off the Alarm) for a larger station?

If I get a compiler working, want a PD Armory (robbing it would probably be Theft/Terrorism?)?

Okay, does losing an eye severely nerf your driving skill? Felix Fudge is now absolutely horrible at escaping from the police in his sports car.
I'd imagine it should--he's blind on one side now, after all.
