Seeds are Weird because our agriculture code requires that your item be a "foo seeds".  So more plants are welcome, but the method is hacky.

Nuking a place pretty much does screw you over.  Spires are best just shot to death.

And yeah, tying a critter should keep it there.

In-game .22 LR can't pierce even my reinforced trenchcoat with long underwear.  I remember some NPC just plinking away at me while my poor man's armour somehow being bulletproof.
NANOMACHINES SON

It would be a nice excuse if not for the fact that there are actual nanomachines that repair your body in CDDA.

Yeah, the reality bubble does make proper differentiation a bit tough to achieve.  May be able to fix that once the aiming PR finally lands.

And since we're in prerelease freeze, that shouldn't be too much longer.

What's this?!

would it be possible to make (a)pplyng an empty container to another container transfer stuff to it? Having to physically pick up and unload a 55 gallon drum barrel every time I want to fill a canteen gets annoying.

A citizen in distress, unjustly forced to repeatedly lift a 55-gallon drum?!  This looks like a job for Advanced Inventory Man(ager)!

In latest experimentals, you can select a "receiving" container suitable for storing liquids and assign it to the container pane (default "k"; you may have to rebind your AIM keys: use "?" in the AIM to get to the rebind window).  Then bring up wherever your "sending" container--in this case, the drum--is, and select the drum as you normally would to move it.  This will transfer as much liquid as possible to the Container.

Hoping that helps.  Continue Liberally!

But he has to steal it. I didn't get to find out, since I blew him away the second I realized he was taking things from my inventory, but I don't know if they have some kind of priority, or how much they take, or if it's completely random. He grabbed one of the guns that I was hauling around in my bags first, and while I did have a stick of dynamite, I'd rather not risk lighting that thing and praying he takes it from me, and then praying I can run far enough to not die as well.

I don't know the fuse on dynamite, but assuming we have something with a long enough fuse, don't items get damaged in an explosion? What if they take it last, and the explosion's big enough to destroy all your stuff. Since if you're carrying guns, you're probably also carrying ammo. Possibly a lot of it. Could be interesting to find out if they would let you light an explosive in front of them, and then steal it from you though. But, I think using explosives is riskier than using a high-caliber gun.

More to the point, you can hear a lit/primed explosive if it's in your inventory.  So NPCs mugging you should make a point not to steal them.

Can you use templates in character creation in it now? That was the main reason I stopped playing defense.

I don't think so, sorry.

Changelog-in-progress

In case anyone plays defense mode, we recently worked out some wonky code (net nerfage to starting cash, but wev).  Lotsa little fixes going in.

I store fuel in the mower. Not much, admittedly, just whatever's left after cutting the grass.

NZ has 91 octane petrol, 95 octane, and diesel. 91 is for lawnmowers, crappy cars, and other machinery, 95 is for good cars, and diesel is diesel. So to me, at least, adding a new fuel type would make sense.

I guess the most sensible question to ask is whether or not the RL location has different types.

Just lower octane ratings (93 is high-test here; 87 is regular).  Not worth the bother IMO.

Playing windows terminal, game keeps crashing in combat so often it's impossible to play. Both current edition and release candidate.

Was a bug with armor damage-checking.  Should be fixed now.

Yep.

And in other news, we've put up a RC for 0.B.

"Lies close to skin and layers easily" means it's the UNDER layer, so works OK with gear on other layers.

Found a mansion with only five zombies in it. Odd layout though, there's like four game rooms with pool tables, two pools, and about four dining rooms, and a large central library. And NO bedrooms.

But I'm playing as a bookworm build (Fast Reader, Good Memory, 12 Int) so it's pretty much awesome. Built a stone fireplace and slowly using up one of the dining tables as firewood, got plenty of food stocked away, the pools are potable, and there's no zombies nearby so I'm good to re-enact "The Last Man on Earth" 'cept I don't need no stinkin' glasses.

Corporate conference center or something.  Or maybe all the bedrooms were on the second story.

Found a bit of free time on my birthday, so bleeding edge builds now have item flavor lua errors fixed and death messages have been added in!

Happy birthday, Zireael!

KA101 has been meaning to try this one.  Hasn't gotten traction yet.  :-/

Hm...

Active internal furnace?  Either way it's a bug, but different handling is probably warranted.

Merged a fix for a memory leak in fields, so being around fire and fungal haze ought to be safer now.

Working to get infrastructure for profession-based traits in.  That'll pave the way for some later-game quests I have in mind.

LCS is Hollywood.  DDA tries for quasi-realism, at least.

Currently bursting tries to go for the full RoF and shifts targets from one to another if you kill the first one with rounds left in the burst.  I think it *does* waste ammo if you run out of targets, though.

Unfortunately we don't really have a good way of simulating burst-limited v. full-auto fire; hence, the M249's oversized burst.  By rights the M4 should have a three-shot burst rather than the 10-rd it currently uses, what with the BURST setting IRL and all, but having code to accommodate more than one 3-burst in six seconds becomes an issue.

Feel free to PR an upgrade, though.

Or try to take the fungal down? Or find a gas mask.

I must say I really like them now. The way fungaland expand and pushed you out is great.

My 3 city setup had some nice buildings that were missing from my original city. I even found a river for the first time. Then a lab and antique shop. Then ffffffffffuNGALS!!! Also another missile silo. There are a bunch of things I haven't seen around these cities. I just drove around a refugee center. I'll probably grab one of the school buses I saw for the big move.

Chair and lockers barricading part of the refugee center? Hmmmmm.. I wonder what's in there....

Talk to the merchie at the front desk, it's a minor thing.  (Or ISSUE ONE, depending on your sense of humor.)
