I was building a new fortress, aboveground out of stone when I noticed this strange bug<P><BR>There's a wall below the level, but no floor on the above level.

I was excavating a tunnel to provide water for my dwarves, the tunnel goes in a U-turn, but the water won't rise to the same level as the stream

DF Suggestions / Init - Change starting points

There should be an option in the init to change the amount of points you start with to build your fortress. Makes it easier to test stuff, all-round usefulness.


Yeah, it's cheating. DF is also in alpha, and there's utilities to do this anyway.


Another option could be to change the amount of dwarves you start with.

Currently when immigrants come to your fortress, there's a good chance they will come with giant cave spider silk clothing, which is outrageously valuable. I've seen the imported goods level go from 20k to 100k from a few immigrants, and killing off those dwarves can let you buy out trade caravans.


The proposal is to disable this. No more starting dwarves with giant cave spider silk clothing, and no immigrants with it either.


I don't know why they have it currently, it seems it should be rare seeing how vicious giant cave spiders are.   :roll:

DF Suggestions / "New Settlement" option

It would be cool if you could chose to leave a settlement instead of abandon it, taking your dwarves with you and some supplies to create a completely new fortress in another place. You could have nomad creatures in that way, and bring seiges to you, etc.
