...we seem to have similiar systems, though my dual core's are a bit faster (3.4) I wonder why I'm not getting that high a framerate. Perhaps my Mayday graphics set slows things down?

Shouldn't do.

Do you turn off temperature, weather and turn down graphical fps?

Two of my dwarves went up to put up some stone walls... and then I notice after awhile that they're just sitting there. On tiles with newly made walls. They can't seem to get off. :(

No... it doesn't work...

It will allow you to set up 1 super godly legendary dwarf (beyond the 10 limit) but it won't let you exceed the point limit.

It also won't let you go over "proficient" in any one profession.

I noticed there's a new init where you can modify the embark profiles (They're greatly useful in themselves)

Could you modify them to more than you'd be allowed to ingame? Like say, to the equivalent of two or three thousand points of equipment?

I love the new custom grid setting so that you can see what's going on. I noticed an unfortunate side-effect...

I was playing in a white sand desert, building a selenite stronghold over the flat plain. The problem is that every time I looked away from the computer, I got blurred hazy lines over my vision so much that I couldn't see for a few minutes. I guess it's from the black/white contrast with hundreds of ~~~~~'s all lined up over the whole screen. Wow.. @_@


I think I'm going blind.

I'm unsure if this has been suggested before or not, oh well.

What about a building editor, maybe included in dwarf mode or seperate on the menu that allowed you to place a number of walls, floors, etc with certain materials and then save the template? You could maybe add other buildings like workshops, doors, windows, dig designations... Essentially it'd be like a DF macro system. Save the template, go to templates on Dwarf Mode and quickly build a tavern or blood temple or giant complex trap system in two clicks.

Could be useful...

We (Dwarves on Hybrid) built a plot after an IDOC fell about 1 screen behind the outpost. I designed it into a small shrine/temple. Blood sacrifices to Armok will come soon...

Gah, sorry that I missed this thread for a few days, I thought the interest died out.


The reason I banned mounts was because I never pictured a dwarf on a horse and it would be unfair to fight orcs on mounts, but now that I think about it beetles should probably be acceptable. I'll change that.

We're around the guard post/tower/mountains mining our fortune in ingots. Once we get enough skill we'll start gaining gold through exceptional craft goods in order to get a bigger outpost, hopefully one with a tavern!

What timezones are you guys on? Maybe we're just missing you because of that. If anyone has msn I could contact you through that too.


Edit: I'm making a list of words to use as a dwarfish language, using the DF language .txt files. The problem is, they're mostly nouns and a few verbs. Nothing to say 'hello', 'goodbye', 'yes', 'no', 'come here', 'give me that' etc. Anyone got any suggestions?

It was 1.5kk before. But it was extremely hard to gain with entire guild in those days.

We've had a few good interactions with the orcs (We have 4 dwarves on the stone so far)

In a couple weeks?
100k/hour.
15 hours of maniacal gameplay = 1,5 kk = castle.

So you can basically supply you with EVERYTHING within a week. I mean, all main GM skills + gear + one-person-castle.

I avoid this kind of shards for all costs =).

I've played on a shard like this once. I upped hiding, fencing and parrying to GM in 4 days. Then I earned a castle and bought all-golden furniture for it in other 4 days. In other 4-5 days I became bored and quit (and after that I sleeped long enough [at last]  :)).
My munchkin nature needs much more to have a real fun =).


In what kind of fairy world does a castle cost 1.5 mil? :P

And is it a small tower? That costy thing? It took about 2 months for me to farm a gold to get this baby.
It looks like this server has very high "drop rate".

By the way, if the things are so cheap to get, is there that problem? I mean, castles everywhere? This is a usual thing when the things are too cheap - the values of expensive things are much lower which breaks some fun and also there was a sad thing on one server - there were castles almost on every clearing.


The server averages about 800 players online. It only has the Felucca facet, so you can find people pretty much everywhere...

You can buy gold and various extras from the donation shop. I know some people will scream bloody murder at this... but it's not THAT bad. The server needs donations or it'd go down, and UO isn't really about who has the most gold anyway (You could probably farm gold at the rate of $2.50 an hour if you tried which is about 100k, easy enough to do with a tamer),

All of the housing places on the shard have been taken, but if you look around you should be able to place some 7x7's... decaying houses make great fun too. The server also has frequent events, like four-team CTF that gives out trophies and gold. There's a complete duelling system ladder as well, and a poker system.

Hybrid is probably the best shard out there if you like playing with (lots of) other people.

And it has a Dwarf Outpost! Join join join! >_>
