Joy2key and its various equivalents means everything has controller support. Also looks like there's at least one mod that does something with it, so eh.

... not entirely sure why you'd want to play it with one (besides some kind of wrist injury or somethin', I guess), but to each their own. Have actually played elder scrolls games on both controller and M&K and there's not really much comparison which is easier to use (it's not the controller) :P

Deyz orks if I sez they is and I 'it 'em hard enough with this here sparky whatsit! Can make orky anyting iz please iffin' dey don't run 'way fast enuff. The ones that don't jus squish, anyway.

10173
Man. I just wanna' know what happens when a mekboy decides to make a tau nice and orky by way of gubbins, and succeeds without killing the tau.*

Know the imperium has replacement arms of doom all over the place, so what's the tau equivalent? Where's their techpriest level, wrassle astartes in man-sized can, aug'd critters?

*E: Well, besides the advent of the fairly rare blue warboss that doesn't paint itself blue, anyway.

If I'm actually putting full effort into playing, sure. Important stuff (rare randoms, etc.) get distinctive names (even if it's just something like W3F2, heh), so I know to pay attention to them, and sometimes why. Little time invested early can save a lot of time later hunting for a particular critter, or help make it less likely you'll do something stupid with something important because you forgot which one it is and can't be arsed to find it.

... it's probably telling I don't rename often :P

Normal play, though, I do tend to remember the names of a few commanders. Usually at least the prophet, unless I'm just using it as a domspread bit. Then maybe heroes, or particularly often used army leaders or battlecasters. Though that does tend to change if I'm playing something like ashen ermor, since, as mentioned, there ends up being like fifty thousand rotfleshes and it becomes increasingly hard to care as the game progresses.

You make space, man. You make space. And tech the reflexes like you tech the eyes. Cyborg supremacy, etc., etc.

Or just use the kroot. Or vespids, or whatever. I'm sure if nothing else bug people with laser eyes is a worthy goal.

It's definitely very different from SR1. Intend to pick it up in the next day or two, but all I've really got to go on is some LP videos. Looked pretty interesting, for all I've forgotten just about everything except a mental note to nab when possible, heh. Some neat things regarding expansion and diplomacy, though I don't remember the details.

Definitely be interested to hear opinion on the dlc, though. Not sure if m'going to pick that up, too.

Do the tau have somethin' against good ol' cybernetics? If they really needed some tau facekickers that sounds like it'd be the way to go. Know GW probably wouldn't do it just to maintain army theme and whatnot, but you'd think they'd have a pretty easy time of leveraging that technology into a melee advantage. Cybereyes fix the base problem, various augs jack the physique to something competitive, so on and so forth. Wear the combat enhancement suite on the inside instead of as a suit. Then you wear the suit, too, and get to punch anything that breaks your mech to death. Not sure if there's a better ambush than hiding your anti-titan inside your anti-tank :P

Or at least turn some kroot into T-1000s or somethin'. Not sure how that'd work with the whole omnom thing but I'm sure they could figure out some way to leverage a set physical form being optional.

When in relationship, you're supposed to let your partner hit you?
You're not "supposed" to do anything (how did you even read that?). You tend not to want to hurt the person you're in a relationship with, even if they are being abusive towards you. Abusive relationships can be come very... complicated.
This, yes. Known a fair number of people that didn't meet violence with violence (or at least not maximumly intense violence) when dealing with someone close to them, precisely just because that relationship existed. Had nothing to do with gender, or capability, or whatever. Just not wanting to hurt someone they care(d) about, for whatever reason.

Not even necessarily an abusive relationship -- sometimes a partner, family member, or friend just flips out for some reason or another (alcohol, grief, psychotic break, whatever), not part of any pattern of violence. Think most people I know are fairly reluctant to have a go at responding with shitkick, just because most folks include close relations in a "do not harm" category.

And yeah, there's no imperative in that assessment. People react differently, et al. S'just a bit off that that whole bit above wasn't part of a consideration of reasons why someone wouldn't fight back against a loved one (or at least something resembling one).

I figure either got taken from surprise, was weaker than her, was unwilling to punch back due to 'positive sexism', or felt he'd deserved it.
Or he likes playing victim or something.
I dunno, I don't live with them.
... kinda' telling the whole "in relationship" thing didn't cross your mind.

I... can sorta' see it, actually. No need to look up, though, I know what a glitter boy is :P

Don't recall the missiley bits on 'em, though. Remember 'em looking kinda' like... some other battlemech, actually. Want to say one of the transforming ones? Eh. It's been a while since I've seen art of the things, so m'probably forgetting somethin'. Mostly remember blue and gold and not much else, from that one fairly well done pic of a glitter boy (that might have been official art?) from... years ago. Several years.

... now I'm kinda' curious how an imperium force landing in rifts land would handle itself. It's definitely a setting with enough punch beakies or whatev' wouldn't trivialize the place. Probably some shit in the RIFTS verse that could eat imperial titans without much trouble...

E: also half wondering how megadamage would translate if it was ruled into the 40k tabletop. Something akin to those invincibility save whatsits or whatever they are?

10181
Huh. Y'know, I'd never actually seen a stormsurge before.

That thing is straight out of battletech. Kinda' like a maruader and an archer or something had a love child. Wonder if you can add dimension hopping to the tau list of tech heresy...

... for what it's worth, oddly enough, dish soap can be part of the preparation for some foods. Seems it's fairly common to wash collard greens with it, if you're cooking enough in one go, ferex. Kind of a pre-wash thing, where it's fairly diluted and you still thoroughly rinse et al afterwards, but still. It happens, and it doesn't seem to make folks sick.

I guess sometimes cooking goes into bizarro land of its own volition. Kinda' like you don't normally set (cooked/prepared/etc.) food on fire and then there's flambe. Normally you stop someone trying to put cleaning supplies on your food, but sometimes you do it intentionally and by design.

Somewhat doubtful that was something that guy had been exposed to, though.

10183
... odd you say we don't see it very often, msh. Splinter cult (or at least some of its members) going full heretic is a fairly common hook in the novels, from what I can recall. Seems like most of the time Chaos shows up there's at least some involvement of those things, if not necessarily the primary source of corruption.

Fairly sure there's been at least one or two cases of planets getting exterminatus'd because of an out of control cult that's been put to paper, even.

10184
Though she did incarnate her old carefree nature and innocence as a new daughter, so it's not like everything she once was is gone.
... does that sort of thing even end up going well? I distinctly remember most cases of "split off good/innocent/happy side" to not so much go downhill as (often immediately) bungee jump off a sheer cliff sans bungee, probably exploding into some sort of equivalent to irradiated hellfire upon impact. Always seems to lead to someone's Bad End, maybe or maybe not after some degree of mass murder or genocide or somethin'.

You'd think people would figure out it's not a very good idea at some point...

Heh. Honestly, if there's one thing I can say in favor of shoujou, it almost always stops at the "basically". More than one of the romance novels I've read was not so restrained. "All aboard my rape train," says the author, "There ain't no breaks. I fucked 'em like I did yo' protagonist." level unrestrained. And not shoujou style, with its blushing and maybe actually liking the attention and all that flower vomiting bullshit. We're talking straight up welcome-to-a-vikinging stuff, enjoy your Stockholm syndrome and staying with rapist N because at least this one feeds the kids they put in you and kills other ones.

Goddamn "historical" romance novels. You'd think younger me would have figured out what was up the first time, but it apparently took a few more. Was fortunately about the worst of it but I'd legitimately recommend shoujou over romance novels for relationship advice/examples, ahaha.

Really, the most amazing thing is that I think I started encountering less "holy shit" stuff after I started reading mostly online. Some of the stuff that makes it to print is mind boggling, and it's often a lot harder to filter, to boot. Book's a lot less likely to warn you you're going to run into necrophilia halfway through the story :-\
