JUST... WHY!?
Because entertainment news. Also the birth defect thing is really flamboyant even if the disease itself is probably less deadly than your average cold.

... and in response to that, I went and checked out what appears to be the latest SMT medusa artwork.

I... I think that's the first time I've ever seen a punk medusa. Who even makes spiked/studded black leather that fits the bottom half of a giant snake? Is she just a hobbyist leatherworker or does the demon community in SMT land have, like. A clothing industry for this stuff? Is there somewhere in that world with racks upon racks of snake-fitted clothing hanging up in some store? Do they do it standard commercial wise and just have different sizes sitting around in a store, or is everything made to order? How does that even work with normal serpent eating habits, anyway? Is that leather actually really stretchy or somethin'? Bloody fantasy clothing mechanics, how do you work!?

Can you vanquish the medusa and then wear her clothing as a hat? That looks like it would make an amazing floppy hat, providing you could deal with the spiky bits.

Part of me wonders if trump could actually manage to get security clearance if he wasn't the republican nominee...

Another part of me suddenly finds that russian connection even more explicable than it previously was, after wondering about the above.

Hadn't heard the name before, but immediate thought was "Is that thing related nehrim?" Lo and behold, I check and it's the same folks. And now I know it exists.

Really wish this computer could run skyrim worth a damn right now. Nehrim was bloody amazing, and I can only assume the skyrim edition is equally impressive.

... is it any good?

Yeeaaah... I don't exactly mind having five ratatosks running around, because squirrel power hell yeah, but it can get a bit confusing. Renaming helps.

The freespawn undead nations can have a hell of a time of it, too. Fifty thousand rotfleshes, which army is that one leading, nobody knows! I mean, to a degree nobody cares either because they're all herding around several dozen undead chaff, but... still.

And reanimating nations can be even worse. The piles upon piles of commanders they build up tend to not cycle out as easily. Also scouts. Friggin' scouts. You get indie province with scouts, particularly early, and it never stops recruiting and by the end of the game you're not quite sure which scout that message is talking about because you've got five different guys named that.

I think people are better about taking breaks as necessary with longer work days
I think businesses are better at stopping people from taking breaks with longer work days

Considering breaks are good for sanity and health and whatnot, giving them less rope to hang people with sounds pretty a'ight.

However I didn't think it was a DOS game, partly because I don't recall messing around to get it to work on windows.
If it was 90s enough, you probably didn't have to even if it was a DOS game. It wasn't until XP or vista or so that you particularly needed stuff like dosbox. For most of the 95/98 era, DOS usually wasn't any more effort than double-clicking.

That said, there is a handful of other games with play similar to darklands, though names are escaping me at the moment. Unfortunately, the combat style is what would probably help figure it out more than anything. Whether it was first person or isometric/top-down would narrow options down a fair bit.

That said, you may want to check something like this, and see if something looks familiar. Probably a few similar resources, but that's the first that came to mind. Going over one of wikipedia's game lists to see if a name rings a bell might not hurt, either.

I'm not going to say there's cheat engine tables ready and rarin' to go, but... >_>

I like the earth blessing for sacred mages, but isn't it almost useless on sacred troops? It seems like it would only help vs incredibly and unrealistically long battles or spammed fatigue spells.

1) Depends on the sacred.

2) No, not really. Fatigue racks up after just a few turns and can quickly become a problem. Fatigue destroys your defense skill long before you hit 100 and pass out.  Staying fresh is always nice.
This, pretty much. Fatigue is what kills easier than almost anything in the game, and is one of the reasons that thugs/SCs that aren't fatigue neutral (or better) are another way of saying "dead", most of the time. Pretty sure it also jacks up the chance of getting crit, though that may be a knock-on effect on the defense penalties.

There's a very, very few amount of non-caster sacreds reinvig doesn't help a fair bit on, and they're mostly undead (and (almost?) all of the nations with sacred undead have sacred casters to some extent or another). It's less useful on low fatigue or out-of-combat fatigue neutral sacreds (and I can't recall if there's any nations that have those but not sacred casters, sooooo...), but still helpful, and means you can do a fair bit more with any sacred indie mages you happen across, of which there are quite a lot.

Minor earth is basically the most versatile bless in the entire game, bar none, without exception. Just about everything benefits from it, and a lot of nations benefit a lot from it. Add on that getting it means you have guaranteed access to dwarven hammers and, well...

Always minor earth. Always.

R... rain water often isn't actually very clean. Like, at all. Varies by region, but areas that have bad air quality or are nearish areas that do can have rain that's borderline deadly, particularly if ingested. Clothes usually need a wash after storm soaking. Clean they probably aren't.

... do often feel pretty nice, though.

If this is the way we are using the word "bipartisan" these days, we suck at bipartisanship.  Sure some of them dont like him but he is the freaking nominee.
Fair chunk, by all appearances. It's bipartisan in the sense you might actually get more than two republican politicians to vote to impeach the guy if it came to it.

... some people have really low standards for bipartisanship, these days.

Wot kinda' zoggin' nonsense is dis squishy spewin'? Any grot dat's got a problem wid' ork heaven can 'old still fer a good crumpin'!

...

... actually, I totally just noticed that if you flip the M upside down, Gork and Mork come out to GW. Yet another bullet point in the long list of evidence the WH40k universe is, in fact, the orkish afterlife. Everyone else is there 'cause orkz is da' best, and dey went and crumped all the other afterlives and made 'em proper orky. Really does explain pretty much everything about the setting.

I have never received one, even though I probably should have a couple of times in the past.
This. Been a part of (more than) a few conversations that got deleted, but there doesn't seem to be any lingering knock-it-offs in th'inbox. Flak from some of those conversations probably count about as well as a direct PM, though. If I screw up at this point, I really don't have the excuse of not knowing better :V

Though I kinda wonder why it seems we jump immediately to bans now, I haven't been back that long but when I left it seemed to have changed to one strike and you're out.
Far as I've noticed most of the time we still don't. Usually if someone gets got it's for behavior they've been warned about, or at least been involved with discussions that got nixed for the reason they did. Most folks that seem to be acting in general good faith and whatnot still seem to get a pretty fair shake.

Does seem to be less mutes, but the number of times someone's stuff gets deleted before they do is still fairly steady, near as I can remember.

Not regularly running bouncing multi-ton hunks of metal over 'em at high speed helps a fair bit, too.
