... found out that the person that was apparently borrowing my car (didn't find out about that until a few days after they drove off) wrecked it about a week ago. No one told me until today. It's not too much of a loss (the thing's past the point it's legal to drink, and not in a good way), and obviously enough I didn't drive it much anymore, but... still. Still.

Not really totaled, but almost certainly not worth getting back into working shape.

I went back a bit because I missed the start of the speech. Also, Trump blamed Detroits problems on Clintons (whether Bill or Hillary, not sure, maybe both) policies when the cities problems actually go back decades.... Not surprising that he pinned it on Hillary.
Actually found a transcript of the prepared speech, I think. It... says basically two things of substance, as near as I could tell. Massive tax cuts across the board (somehow making up the hit to the gov't budget with increased overall trade?), and more or less unilateral deregulation. And. That was the only things that wasn't either attacks on clinton or obama, or promises of more details "later".

I guess it wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting (mind, those two things are pretty disastrous, but nothing much was really said, overall), just significantly more full of empty hot air. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but I always get kinda' hopeful someone claiming to state something that's pretty reliant on some degree of detail will actually put out, for once. If that Detroit speech is the actual economic plan that was claiming to be slated for release, anyway.

Incidentally curious about the new york electorate's reaction to parts of that speech, though. I vaguely remember hearing about some of them being kinda' pissed about trump claiming to be (one of) the state's economic savior(s).

They... could try to just make a competent browser that doesn't immediately delete everything you typed the moment you leave the page? Or has the option for it, at least. Know opera classic is pretty good at that, and if an old and no longer supported browser can do it...

BTW, he's going to release his economic plan on Monday I believe, so, lets see what he gives.
... bit late, but... didn't he (or at least his campaign) say they were going to do that back in... May or somethin'? I distinctly remember being stoked a few months ago to get to see a contender for the least competent economic plan to come out of a major political figure in decades, and iirc it didn't happen.

Is there any indication this isn't going to be Vaporware Economic Plan Mark 2, Revenge of the Tax Returns?

Quote from: World of Cultivation, chapter 106
Ten pieces of fourth-grade jingshi, that was five thousand pieces of third-grade jingshi… … three months… …

Zuo Mo felt dizzy. He made one last effort, “This is impossible to complete!”

“Oh, don’t worry, I like interest!”

Oversimplified it is indeed, but I wouldn't befriend someone who hates on women, and I don't have to worry about someone who hates on men becoming my friend.

I mean why do we give a shit? People are people.
There's... a lot more to bias than hate. Also a lot of people that do exhibit bias, but don't do it intentionally and/or general want the best for folks, in whatever way they think that is. Misguided, maybe a bit lacking in self-awareness or somewhat insensitive, buncha' other stuff. I've found it to be pretty common for the older generations, really. Asshole isn't exactly the word I'd use for 'em.

Google (eldritch newspaper game) seems to think it's Daily Chthonicle.

*eyeballs the world's trans population* Yeah, I'd probably disagree that everyone that gives a shit about gender are all assholes. Just a titch of disagreement, there.

Never saw anyone protest for a woman's right for equal opportunity in sewer worker jobs, etc.
I have. Occasionally, but it's been for decades, now, and so far as I recall it's been a talking point for folks looking for more equitable treatment of women for about as long as there's been much of a movement to speak of.

... I would like to meet the surgeon with a positive survivor to fatality and/or major fuckup rate that couldn't read. Or even just read poorly. Last I checked we tried that at points in the past, and got bloodletting, excess cranial holes, and a great deal of amputation.

I know if an ambulance drove me up to a hospital after getting my legs mangled, and then told me my surgeon was illiterate, I'd be noping myself right off that stretcher and taking my chances with bleeding out.

Objection! Any color scheme that consists of anything except red, white, and blue is unpatriotic and has no place in this thread. Flag dat stuff up, y'all.
What about the gold fringe on flags that sovereign citizens occasionally claim makes courtrooms not actually apply to them?
To be treated as appropriate for sovereign citizens. You may apply pitchforks at your discretion, but torches are mandatory.

Though I guess you could claim the yellow text smattered around the thread in the only theme worth considering the existence of covers that anyway. So long as it stays away from the red, white, an'blue.

Also clinton/kane supporters may substitute red and black as they please, but if they do, they have to arrange the lettering into the shape of a scorpion tail. Peace through power, my fellow americans.
