Personally, I'll support Hillary but damn does finding out the inner workings of the whole process annoy me.
... personally, finding out how people react to the inner workings of this stuff is starting to get a little depressing. It didn't quite register how painfully unexposed many people are to basic PR/campaigning/advertising/etc. practices. They see stuff that would barely even register as a tuesday in regards to interorganizational communication/negotiation and whatnot and flip.

S'just, like. What did people think this stuff looked like? How the hell is this some kind of surprise?

I can't even remember... isn't it possible to pick up slave collars after a fight? I think it was at one point, but not sure if that was Dom 3 or what -- know it was at least possible to pick up those cheapo cursed knives. If it is, though, it may be that the AI didn't put a slave collar on its pretender, just had a hilariously bad RNG result after an indie fight :V

Is this appropriate point to declare that all the Bernie supporters are going to shift libertarian and catapult Johnson 2016 to victory?
If by "all" you mean "20% or less"... maybe. Pretty sure that was the ballpark that said they weren't voting dem if sanders didn't get the nomination.

Well, except that victory thing. Catapult to less irrelevance would probably be more accurate.

... have you not noticed how incensed a good chunk of the more fervent sanders folks are about pretty much all of our governmental institutions? They want more public goods, sure, but they also want less politicians, the current handling of said goods torn down (and maybe rebuilt, maybe not), and a bunch just kinda' want to see the current organizations burn and to hell with the consequences. Much of sander's core doesn't want reform, they want revolution. Anti-establishment is pretty bloody core to the ones that are actually behind sanders more than they are the democratic platform in general.

It's conceptually possible he could end up in some sort of important appointed position. Significantly less so than if he had dropped and endorsed earlier than he did,* but possible. Better odds to have some degree of influence in such matters. Kinda' unlikely either way, though. Not only is he almost certainly more useful to the party in the senate by a significant degree, he's not exactly been doing the most bang up job of building bridges with other politicians. Political capital the guy could expend to nudge some people around position wise is... probably not sufficient to do much. And beyond that, again, the guy's desired policies are not very different from the democrat ones -- just about anyone clinton will put in a position is someone sanders probably doesn't have much of a problem with, or would have recommended anyway.

S'just... you could probably comfortably say sanders came out of this primary better off than he was, so far as political influence goes, but it's also pretty damn certain he's came out a lot worse than he could have. Made some pretty notable mistakes, ones that are painfully obvious even to political plebs like, well. Me. And beyond that the guy is only nominally a democrat at this point. His party influence and general political influence over fellow politicians is... probably not going to be that great. If he decides to go independent again any time soon it'll frankly become kinda' shit, t'boot.

*His bargaining position became increasingly weak as his loss became increasingly certain, and he held on a lot longer than he probably should have, so far as that aspect of things goes.

I mean. There's like one problem core bernie supporters have that probably won't get addressed to some degree by the convention, and that's existence of a goddamn government to begin with. Anti-establishment is pretty much the only thing the dem platform doesn't already address. That and the genghis thing (not enough that I must win, et al), I guess.

Everything else. Education, infrastructure, environment, business, corruption, foreign policy, etc., etc., etc. Are already core parts of the democrat agenda. And pretty much every single one of those is dead center or close enough to what sanders was intending to aim for. Their problems will almost certainly be mentioned, and most likely almost in their entirety.

Well, if you're a space wizard, sure.  Kane's something, but space wizard he is not.

Honestly, kane's thing would totally be to say yes, then mastermind an internal takeover and rule from the shadows.

And Clinton picks Tim Kaine... I guess not surprising since both Trump and Clinton basically broadcasted which one they were likely to pick before the actual announcement, and possibly because they both went for predictable choices.
I was kinda' hoping for that after hearing about the guy. Now comes the Nod references, ahahaha! This election just became significantly more pleasing to my sensibilities.

Clinton/Kaine 2016

PEACE THROUGH POWER

and yes, I know there's no i. Do you really think kane wouldn't use kaine as a pseudonym just to troll people?

He does not. Or at least if he does, he's shortly going be captured and burnt at the meme by the greentext inquisition.

... gary who? *checks link*

I... don't think I've ever heard of the guy. Looking at the list of works, I don't think I've seen a single thing he's in. ~150 roles over nearly half a century and not one I've watched.

...probably not.
Unlikely to happen this election, or unlikely to unite the party?
Both? The dem party isn't really split at the moment, for all that some folks are particularly vocal about things, and he doesn't exactly bring much to the table for clinton on... pretty much any front. Their policy positions are close to identical on most issues, and most of the folks that were voting for him in the primaries appear to be content enough voting clinton. Add on his political history and general rhetoric style and he's just... not a good match for VP, basically at all. It could theoretically happen but it's pretty doubtful, and would probably be a fairly bad move it it did.

That boiling frog effect. You do the day by day, not really noticing the incremental degradation, and without really being able to point at when something's functionally ruined, or very close to it.

Just cleaned out the shower head, took a needle to the little holes and knocked out the stuff that had encrusted in it over the half year to a year since it was last cleaned out. Thing went from rapidly approaching outright broken* to bloody close to friggin' perfect. Still leaks a little, but it's dripping instead of shooting, and the water output has gone from functional but kinda' eh to borderline bliss. I actually feel kinda' bad coming out because it felt so much better I stayed in too long, with water a bit too hot. Even the heating aspect is less finicky, damnit ;_;

I've done this before (though, to be fair, before I did the last time the thing hadn't been cleaned out for... probably three or four years, at a minimum) and had it happen before, but it's really stark when the difference is so... clearly displayed. Friggin' maintenance, how does it even work :-\

*Forcibly leaking from areas to the point it was dousing the wall outside the shower regardless of which direction you pointed it, half way barely putting out water on most of it, and in points putting out streams strong enough it kinda' hurt, etc., etc.

Man, if that happened the sheer outpouring of salt from the more conservative portions of this country would be gorram amazing. Heads would explode, hopefully not literally.

You... wouldn't seem me making anything alcoholic intentionally, pretty much ever. That said, I have been thinking of giving a go at canning or drying some of the next batch they haul in to rot. Maybe puzzle out how to make tomato sauce out of 'em... it'd be nice to have decent tasting spaghetti sauce that didn't have onions in it, and it's next to impossible to find that commercially in this area. We've got the appropriate tools for it, just haven't gotten around try seeing how you go about it, yet.
