If memory serves he was unwilling, and was doing it to save the damsel in distress.  ....or....master martial artist in distress... ...minus the distress... because his new girlfriend thought it would be the best way... who may have secretly been thinking it would be hawt...

something like that.
It's been a long, long time since I last played through that scene, but I vaguely remember deadling's shtick there being less eroero and more schadenfreude. She may have thought it was hot to some degree, but it was mostly just screwing with people.

Though yeah, nimbus wasn't exactly enthused, and not in the doth protest too much sense.

Bloody hell that site caused twilight (tablet f.lux equivalent) to crash. It's not unknown t'me for that to happen, but it's gotta' be a horrendously badly designed webpage, generally.

... unsurprisingly, I've been finding news sites break things on this kindle more than a... lot of other stuff. I still have to trouble quite understanding how they can be so consistently terrible.

Apropos of nothing, I guess, but it seems equitable to shit upon that which shits upon my computer :-\

Closer to two. FFT came out in '97.

Pretty sure there's earlier stuff even more egregious, particularly among box art, though.

Y'all are crazy. The Japanese would just give everyone breasts. Probably whichever set of genitalia is missing, too. Asking them to remove secondary sexual characteristics is like asking an alligator to turn vegan. Give them the ability to manipulate that sort of thing and it'd be tits and tentacles everywhere. I don't think you two actually want sprong dong sprouting from your heels.

In other news, was reminded today of Berlin. Berlin, Pennsylvania, home of the Synders of Berlin potato chip brand.

In smogon?  Nope, you barely even see the attack happening before it's next turn and you need to go back in the log to find out wtf actually happened.
I, uh. I'm not sure many folks here were talking about smogon, or anything like smogon. I wouldn't really consider it a emulator at all, really... I mean, maybe if you squint at it and run with a very technical definition of emulation, but it's no No$. Even calls itself a simulator instead. Guess you could say those are roughly synonyms (and I'd sorta' agree vis a vis general usage), but in regards to the nomenclature surrounding console emulation and computer based emulation in general it's not a usage you'd see often, if at all.

Most developed emulators can even slow things down, too, if for some mad reason you want to do that. Not so much fast forward as general speed control, for all most users will never use anything except fast forward, heh. And regardless it's not something that just... happens, unless there's some kind of bug going on. You have to press buttons or toggle options to get the speed rollin'.

That's... good? Sorta'. I mean, someone died, so that's not good, and it's taken about a bloody year to actually get a trial up in this, but... still. Cop seeing actual trial at all and any repercussions beyond paid leave (if that) is unusual, in a good way.

'Course, the question now is if anything'll come of it besides the court fees :-\

Find out in another few years, I guess.

Would you happen to have a ballpark for what year you first ran into them? That might help a titch.

It's been easier to finish them on emulators than the actual consoles, for me :P

The latter did have that thing were limited library meant you'd be more likely to focus on particular games more, but the former has save states and fast forward, and good bloody gods does that make every ounce of difference in the world. The second even more than the first, really.

... also being able to selectively disable layers makes a number of old console RPGs' design significantly less irritating. Screw your dark rooms, double screw your hidden corridors, and stuff your bloody fog layer bullshit right in there with the cacti. I've got a strong independent piece of gaming software and it don't need none o' that shit.

Huh. All the major ones (e, fin, a third one I'm forgetting the name of, probably others, there's more than one that's pretty on point at this point) I've used have been about on par with the actual machine on a TV for... like a decade, now, barring the occasional outright bug (of which there's very, very few these days) and whatever difficulty the machines I ran them on had hardware wise. Far as I could tell, anyway.

I mean. That's not the most difficult bar in the world to pass, seeing as how CRTs were CRTs and PSX era 3D et al is PSX era 3D et al (which is to say mostly shit :P), but still. Graphics wise hasn't seemed to be much of an issue for a good number of years now...

It... doesn't. Maybe there could be something done with a state of emergency or something, but, uh, it's been a lot worse in the past without that sort of thing happening, and it'd be regional at most anyway. Like, that's cities literally burning down level stuff, not pretty minor rioting at its worst (so far, anyway). Regardless, no, there's not going to be much more buggering of the constitution over the current police issues than there already is, and it's fairly unlikely the dems'll be the ones pushing for it anyway.

Also has she even seen Obama lately? Like most two term presidents, I can pretty much guarantee you he's counting the days until he can stuff this shit in a box and go home.

And that, I guess. Color me doubtful it's going to be invoked over stuff that's largely causing less property damage than your average sports riot.

Yeeaaaah bfel that's not B12. Cache clear would be a good start, probably check to see if any weird processes are running, maybe run anti-virus/malware. See if it's doing it on a different browser, too. Usual stuff.

Oh, not even an intentional one. Didn't quite mean it that way. S'just one of the ways negative ideation can wrap itself around itself. Probably a better word for it, but it's two in the morning and yeah.

Never?

... though I can't help but see the possibility of a trap in that. If your opinion is that your opinions are being considered worthless, disagreement could be interpreted as considering your opinions worthless, even if that's not what's actually going on. When both agreement and disagreement reinforces the point, it's bad juju :-\

Eeagh that's vague as hell, couldn't she have provided some transparency there?  It's something, but it doesn't give me any idea what is going to actually happen with those funds.
... that's... more transparent that the vast majority of policy statements I've seen come out of politics, ever. Certainly about the best I've seen come out of a current cycle politician on the subject. I mean, that's not saying too much considering who's been in the lineup, but still. There was some pretty specific stuff in there. Bit more if you actually follow the bit at the bottom of it, too.

Could you actually point to someone running that does any better? Or was running, whatever.

But maybe it could be more overt, I'unno. Maybe not, too. A lot of the specifics you're talking about would only come once the stuff started getting ground through government implementation, and particularly not until you've actually got access to all the information the POTUS position would entail. Can't exactly say how much money's going to state X or region Y or project Z until you actually know how much you've got to work with and where it needs to go, and while a fair amount of that's publicly available, and a fair bit more's probably accessible to upper level politicians (i.e. folks that are actually able to make a serious run for president), m'pretty sure quite a lot just... isn't. I've seen the same problem on local level stuff, and the wider the area and more feet gets stepped on in the process the worse that particular issue gets.

And no, you wouldn't need total control of congress for a fair bit of that. Good chunk's just regulation change and whatnot, and that's pretty much entirely executive. Certainly it's likely much of it is goals that won't be reached, either in full or at all, but that's... normal. For any kind of policy position. Reality and desired goals often don't meet very well, and realistic ones are usually both kinda' boring (i.e. it's not going to attract voters, even if not stating 'em turns off the silly small niche of ones that would prefer to see 'em) and make for terrible negotiation points besides.

Another really fun one I've seen a (very) few times is having various status effects (or specific spells/damage types; breath of fire actually did that a bit for a few of its games) cause bosses to go through a state change. They still have full effectiveness, but it may turn a relatively docile boss into something of a nightmare, or just switch it up so it takes very different tactics to deal with or whatev'. Always liked that one, and you can even bundle instakill effects into it, turn some bosses into specifically triggered matryoshka monsters or somethin'. Don't think I've seen that, but it'd be neat to see it. Break the zone eater and it turns into a stone zone eater, ready for revenge :3

... then break that, and it splits a buncha' angry pebble zone eaters. Stuff like that. Folks should do that more.
