Grayson is certainly real: D-Florida, heh. You might be able to find a transcript somewhere in this mess or a nearby related page. Still looking, myself. Last wednesday being spoken of the blog will probably be either the 11th or the 4th.

And on that day was born the theory of "micropollution", to the dismay of anyone with a working neurological system.

Can illegitimatize. Not necessarily. It's not exactly difficult to have the conflict and the drama hinge on other things.

Certainly I wouldn't call what you're talking about to be a significant point vis a vis the anime in question -- near as I can recall those were only disabilities and sacrifices occasionally, and were mostly just somewhat edgy excuses for superpowers :V

Which should be okay. You can still have a nice story with all the bells and whistles with barely acknowledged edgy superpowers. Sometimes it's fine if parts of the backstory et al are just kinda' there.

... doing it the other way is also be about the quickest way to get me to stop watching something, though, heh. For me, hammering the nail that the world is terrible and success only comes through suffering for the Nth hundredth time cheapens any emotion they were trying to draw out, just as well. When I want shitty messages of that sort alongside the rest of the narrative I go watch the news or read the classics.* It's nice to see folks shucking those influences, to whatever degree, y'know? Doesn't cheapen the emotions involved, it just emphasizes other ones. Which is often quite nice. I like those emotions better, and human brains being what they are we really do need more of them in our lives to offset the inclination towards negative one, imo.

*I rarely watch the news and you would probably have to shoot me to get me to go back to reading classical literature, and probably shortly thereafter have to stop me from shooting myself.

Thanks, yeah.

And would if we could, neutering wise. Still looking for low/no cost opportunities (and kiiiiinda' have been for years... tbh, people in general in this area don't care too much about cats save as pest control and target practice), but there's rarely any in this area and the family can't really afford to drop 2-3k (there's a fair number of cats roaming the area we could get to a vet for it, but the quoted price per cat is usually in excess of a hundred USD on the low end, which... not happening, unfortunately) on fixing cats. Though they're more the rural equivalent of street cats, and born and living around the house more than anywhere. Still the same sentiment, and we've been trying for a while to find something that helps with that even remotely close, but... yeah. About the best we can usually manage is to get 'em comfortable around humans and then find homes for 'em, which we definitely try pretty hard t'do. More because they otherwise tend to end up dead than to keep the population down, but still.

Alley cats will break your heart like that =/  If it isn't afraid to come inside, giving it food and a clean dry place to rest can help a lot.
No alleys for it to cat in, but yeah, it's been an outside cat. Feed it (and... like, over a dozen other cats, if you count the kittens out there right now) regularly, so that's not an issue, but I'll think about setting things up so he's got access to a clean(er, anyway) spot somewhere or another. S'not a bad idea. Inside is a bigger question, since the other house people don't particularly want cats inside, and the other care bits besides food would be money we can't much afford at the mo', but... yeah.

Also: is the swelling/infection localized? Cats, especially strays, are prone to abscesses. They look ugly but they're not often dangerous; draining it and keeping the area clean would help.
Yeah, so far localized, so it's definitely possible... haven't seen many things like it before with the cats in this area, though, which was the worrying bit. Biggest personal concern really is that it's a snakebite that's just taking a while to finish him off, which I've seen happen before, or some kind of internal issue (though it starting to ooze reduces that likelihood). Any recommendations for draining and cleaning? Despite all the years I've had cats I've never actually done or seen done something of that nature :-\

And... best of luck, other folks. Iti, I totally feel you on the voice thing in particular... went through a few periods of that myself. If it means anything to you, I found talking to myself helped with that a lot, particularly with a fair bit of ham. There's was a period I was quoting plays and speeches and whatnot to myself fairly regularly, heh, so I'd be having fun with the human voice (/at all) instead of it (and the people using it) just inflicting misery upon me. Made the overall experience more bearable, if not necessarily better.

If it helps any, that's at least partially just due to how human brains are wired. The seeming part, anyway -- we notice and remember negative events notably more easily than we do positive ones. Just another one of those ways our neurochemistry maladapted to modern issues, really. Also one of the reasons news reporting is mostly like it is.

... not saying you don't have people fucking you over, mind. Just that it may be harder to remember, notice, or particularly value the ones that aren't.

Finally got around to calling vets in the area. Attainable options end up being spending ~half my liquid monetary resources* for a checkup (and, let's be realistic, probably more than I've got for actual treatment), or hoping the cat gets better on its own. Considering the worrying area now appears to be oozing pus/miscellaneous other fluids and is thus probably infected... well. I guess it's better than it just continuing to swell up? We have had a few other cats survive at least superficially similar issues, so maybe in a month or two the friendly black cat will still be alive :-\

*Which, to be fair, is... not much at the moment. Best price was about 4/5ths what I was changed for a human doctor checkup, so it's reasonable, I guess.

Huh, and apparently its only $20, which is a bit cheaper than I expected.  I'll be interested to see the reviews.  :)
For what it's worth, there's already a number of gameplay videos online. Will say that, above and beyond the fact my computer probably couldn't run it, I'm personally not quite as interested after seeing the combat/progression... I appreciate the emphasis on procedural generation, but I also rather liked how SPAZ handled progression (particularly leveling and ship wise) before, or at least significantly more than I do what I've seen thus far, and the way it handles ship-building makes combat... less appealing, t'me. Seems much harder to tell at a glance what enemies are doing, especially in the first/third person view. Game's prettier overall and certainly more procedural, but that... kinda' detracts from things, at least for me, at least with SPAZ2's implementation.

Also wow, T. Before your post I probably would have assumed a company that has HR workers that would do something like that didn't actually exist, heh. Quite possibly the first time in the entirety of my life I've actually seen someone report something like that :P Hope you get the job (or whatever it is, if my memory's failing me and that's not in relation to a job application), their HR department at least sounds like a keeper.

All you need is love sarcasm sarlacc

Incidentally, the strikethrough code is why there is a sarcasm font. Less potential for confusion.

I assumed people would realise what was going on when the anti-America guy started sounding American
Borderline (or entirely) suicidal lack of self-awareness on particular subjects is something that exists. Like turn signals on a car, it's good to display not only what you're doing (which may indeed be obvious!), but also that you realize what you're doing. Don't assume the person behind you is aware you know you're in a turn lane, unless your light is blinking.

At least a year or two ago. Maybe more, I don't quite remember.

Remember the sarcasm font, OW. Remember the sarcasm font.

Eeehhh, I'm not that sure bernie wants favoritism, for what it's worth. Dude does seem to be pretty chill about that sort of thing, all things considered, even if he's cheerfully pounding the populist drum. I haven't seen* very many complaints of that nature coming out of the guy himself, and last I checked he is on record that support for hillary or whathaveyou is pretty alright, too. Don't think he's really tried to mitigate the supporters fervor either, though, heh.

*As always caveated by the fact I'm not really paying that much attention at this point, of course. It's entirely possible I've been missing things!

The Hill was actually where the reddit thread linked to, sm :P

Can't speak for its general respectability, but I can say that particular article (and the other one they've got) is kinda' shit, especially from a news reporting angle. Did a pretty poor job of actually explaining anything that was going on with even the most remote of clarity. Fairness where it's due, most other articles I checked (probably seven or eight before I hit the one I linked above and stopped looking, which at least tried to sorta' give a timeline of what was happening even if it was still fairly one-sided reporting) were also about as bad, but... yeah.

Oh hey, reddit thread. *salt generators activated* Pretty crappy news article as the primary source, haha! *salt generation increases*

Does look like other news sources sorta' corroborate parts of it, though. Near as I can parse, it seems like sanders supporters got a bit pissed off a voice vote didn't go their way, fairly early in the convention, and were a bit rowdy. Apparently calls of things being fixed and whatnot, but near as I can tell digging through invariably shitty news reports sanders near matched clinton in delegate counts so that claim is... somewhat dubious? Somewhat moreso considering clinton actually did beat sanders on the popular vote, near as I can tell.*

Actually this looks like it might be a fairly decent breakdown as to what happened, if still seeming somewhat slanted. Tbh, without looking at the video and from what I've read in the last few minutes, it... sounds a lot like much of the so-called questionable behavior was due to sanders supporters basically being disruptive jackasses, and some of it perhaps overblown as an issue (i.e. the not waiting for nay votes near the end; the pretty obvious reason for that that most of these articles like to ignore would be an obvious majority without needing the rest to chime in).

In any case, if for some mad reason one of you out there actually want to watch a livestream of the entire event, you can find one here.

The delegate admittance thing seems kinda' interesting, though. Wouldn't mind hearing how that turns out. Also wouldn't be entirely surprised if much of the refusals were legitimate based on the stated reasons... a number of bernie supporters were, y'know, not democrats shortly previous.

*Though I will admit that's potentially dubious. It's something of a sumbitch to find actual vote count numbers for nevada instead of just the initial delegate split. Still, if it's as accurate as it seems on the face of it, it puts the actions reported on in a significantly different light, imo.

E: Honestly, what boggles my mind more than anything in those reports is that the convention used a voice vote with apparently multiple-thousands of people involved. About the only way you could make that more clumsy and imprecise is if it were votes cast by interpretive dance.

E2: That said, I now have the amazing image of the coordinator or whatever they are for a convention like that saying with a straight face, "Ayes do the Funky Chicken, Nays the Worm! All others must Time Warp or be escorted out of the building!"
