Other Games / Re: Gearhead RPG questions thread!

... how would the game tell, though? Unless content was added as well, there's all of four gender-specified armor items in the game, and I can't recall if anything not the specified gender can even wear them. Though maybe the mentioned change changed that, I'unno.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure if the things are even properly in the game, or if the decade old version of GH1 I've been sitting on had modded stuff added to it or not. I don't remember ever seeing jester armor in the game back when I played...

E: Though honestly, in a post-apoc world with laser beam bras, I'm not sure how well culturally normative gender specific clothing will have managed to hold up. When complaining about someone's clothing choice can get your house leveled, people probably stop complaining and start assuming everyone is wearing a multi-missile corset.

Maybe the actual suggested feature would be to add a feature that assigns gender norms to armor items at random, in addition to that suggested change? I could get behind that. Nothing like having your optimal armor choices end up with you crossdressing.

... I mean, is it any good? That'd be the question I'd be asking. Still communicate that it makes you uncomfortable if it does, but quality excuses a lot.

E: Also, libel/slander depends substantially on distribution and impact, so far as I know. If they're keeping it to themselves and only sharing with, say, CS alone (and/or the ex), then it likely wouldn't count (and may net you pissed off judge for wasting their time). Similarly, if there's no impact on reputation and whatnot, it again probably wouldn't qualify. You can't actually stop someone from writing stuff like that, just sharing it. And sometimes not even that, really.

Not even Irritable Bowel Syndrome?
Are you sure you actually want that question answered?

If they're not showing up on your account, probably?

Good ol' alabama. Like georgia, except without any upsides.

Together, they fight crime communists? The buddy cop film no one actually wanted and is clear proof of the existence of an antagonistic god. Coming this November to a theater hopefully far away from you.

Eehhh... it's reason if something comes of it, but yeah, just investigation and whatnot is... not compelling. Especially in US politics, where "Manufactured Scandal" is another way of saying "Tuesday". The republican/right-wing political groups in particular have spent like the last... decade, or more, basically flailing around everywhere claiming people (Obama, hillary, whatever) have been doing something that's illegal/unconstitutional/etc. with... nothing to show for it. Which is why that bullshit gets brushed off so easily: The last few decades it's been shown to be bullshit time and time and time again. Almost a boy who cried wolf scenario, except the wolf never seems to show up.

Though yeah, it does work on a good chunk of the polity, no question there. It's just not exactly what I'd call a reason, heh. Excuse, maybe, but...

Hey, with the typo in there's it's actually accurate. No one's able to not deny that statement.

Also fun is the bait launcher. Especially when you've got that (one of the?) item that makes your bullets larger.

I was definitely somewhat startled the first time a giant tiger jumped onto the screen and mauled something to death.

It's... looking a lot like the fan on this computer has burnt out. Either that or whatever part tells it to turn on.

... fairly literally, I was smelling burnt plastic/electronics last night. Welp.

I'll put two nonexistent internet quid on Vermin Supreme being the VP pick for both candidates.

I rather imagine the notably more obvious conclusion is that the stormtrooper depictions available are generally as factual as my mother's left testicle :V

Y'do have to consider most of the available texts were written from a very one sided perspective. Fact bending here and there to make the enemy look incompetent is fairly standard as that goes...

Though SL's note on the 501st makes a lot of sense, hrm.

Lies and slander. Clearly the best blue skinned thing to come out of a sci-fi franchise in the last thirty years exists.

Didn't the Empire manage to lose cloning technology?
They actually managed to further develop cloning tech (see: Palpatine and force-capable clones, and how palpatine didn't die when he was killed, repeatedly.), they just toned back the usage fairly significantly. From what I recall they were still using cloning to a degree to supplement stormtrooper numbers, among other things, just not on nearly the same scale the Old Republic did during the separatist wars, and greatly preferred non-clone troops/officials/etc.

Which is fairly understandable -- the two biggest movers and shakers of the Empire were both veterans to varying degrees of the clone wars, and very much familiar with the repercussions and complications of wide scale clone usage, which were fairly significant. So they cut back, developed a effective standing army using many of the remaining clones as a backbone (Vader's primary military/elite group -- the 501st Legion, colloquially known as Vader's Fist -- actually had a fairly substantial amount of clones vader had commanded during the wars remaining in it.), and worked from there.

He ran a dictatorship for 20 years and had no accomplishments to show for it except for "defeating" the separatists.
Well, defeating the separatists, massive scientific and economic development (even in the face of what you're calling mismanagement!), great strides in controlling crime in core worlds (if admittedly because he basically ran the major criminal organizations through patsies, but still :P), maintaining overall peace for a long period despite regular terrorist attacks and insurgencies, tremendous (though definitely mishandled on the PR front) strides towards core and rim world security against outside threats... there's just a sundry list. Guy managed to direct that "autopilot" towards getting a helluva lot of work done.

As for vader... he had his problems, and definitely some of the extent propaganda tried to paint him as incompetent, but I think the results show more than the screentime. He still managed to organize and maintain coherency for massive amounts of military force, and was by and large able to keep them incredibly effective, to the point that even after the successful terrorist coup that killed the emperor (well, the first time, anyway), those "rubber stamps" were able to direct, organize, and maintain splinter governments for substantial chunks of the existent galaxy. He was a lot better at what he did than you're giving him credit for, yeah.
