It's... basically nothing like overwatch, save that they're both FPS games with characters that have abilities. There's plenty of gameplay vids out now if you're interested in seeing how the game looks and plays.

Something like that. You generally don't see more local stuff used for very long after leaving the position unless the person in question held it for a long time. One time sheriff or whatev' probably won't be called the title afterwards, one that had held the position for thirty or forty years is fairly likely to, if only among the people of the area they presided over, as an example.

Far as I'm aware, though, there's just not a consistent rule for (most of) it. Mostly just a function of notability, if anything, and quite possibly setting (region, venue, etc., etc.) to some extent.

Basically, if you're actually looking for something particularly coherent and regular, you're looking at the wrong country.

Ah. For... for what it's worth, I'm relatively certain you can run steam off a flash drive, and entirely certain you can run Dom 4 off one (and dom 3, since I had both on one I took to school :P), if the machine is otherwise capable of running it. Probably not worth the effort if the lappie's almost there, but it may be an option if you get desperate and/or worried about one of the other players hunting you down.

That feeling when you finally get around looking up what a rather nice song was about and are enlightened to the fact that "cocaine" is the answer.

Had figured a while back it was something about drugs, but... still. Yet another part of the playlist confirmed as something I probably should turn the sound down for when driving through school zones.

E: Though in retrospect, it's at least more subtle than the one with the four whores having a conversation about which of them is the loosest. That one got a hell of an expression out of my parent when I played it for 'em. Surprisingly excellent song, hell of a subject :V

E2: Gavin Friday's rendition of Baltimore Whores, if anyone was curious, by the by. Won't link due to content, but it's quite possibly one of the best constructed pieces of music of its type that I've ever heard. The singer's about as close to perfect as I could imagine, the instrumental accompaniment is spot on, the lyrics themselves are disturbingly well put together. A+ material, it's just about gratuitously promiscuous prostitution.

No fast travel, that I can recall.* You can up your viewing range (one of the stats, though I'm blanking on which one at the moment), iirc, for what it's worth.**

As for the H/K, iirc that's just a critter that's on that particular map. I do believe it's part of a small plot line, but not something you enable elsewhere. That's something that's part of a few maps in the game, so far as I can recall.

*E: Well, except the bus (and I want to say one ferry?) lines. Had forgot about those. They don't move to buildings, though, just towns. Also kinda' useless if you've got a mech, since iirc they don't bring your machine with you. Plus the overworld map in GH1 is kinda' small anyway, so it's not like it's terribly hard to get around, heh. So long as you're not on foot, anyway.

**E2: Ah, though yeah, that would presumably not be of much use to a blind player. It's mildly better in GH2 as far as that goes (most important areas/shops/etc. have their own maps, instead of just being buildings you wander into), but GH1, not so much.

... I have to ask, though, out of morbid curiosity. What kind of junker are you on that can't run Dom 4? Or is it access or whathaveyou instead of specs?

You don't miss anything, really; everything you can do in the menu system has a button in the roguelike system. It's just easier to fatfinger the roguelike system and miskey at an inopportune time, as blaze notes, to the extent that that matters.

Personally, I pretty much immediately stopped using the menu system because the ruddy thing is so ridiculously much more time consuming, heh. I guess it could be useful on a machine that doesn't have a numpad, though...

E: Actually, no, the turning keys are [ and ] and you can still use the arrow keys for the rest of it. You'd be a little slower making diagonals and such without a numpad, but it'd still be substantially faster and significantly less keypresses than trying to play with the menu system. It's mostly there for aesthetics/immersion, honestly -- let the player play more like they're actually in a cockpit or somethin' like that. Gameplay wise it's kinda' miserable, ha.

It could be, or it could be comrade's take on it. Or something else entirely. The biggest mistake you can make in regards to evolutionary biology is to assume something came about for a reason, or that it came about because of the reason(s) that make(s) sense. this is also why most of the field, along with its friend evolutionary psychology, is complete and utter just-so bullshit

Though I guess the actual explanation is that our predecessors with larger jaws managed to breed more. Whether that's because of the jaws themselves or because the jaws were piggybacking on something else or because the jaws were just not meaningfully selected against and got lucky or about a half dozen other things or some combination of any and/or all of the above is something it would take a time machine and another fifty to a hundred years or more of genetics research to actually figure out with any degree of notable accuracy.

I don't know; if not for the Feebleminding/if you can fix the Feebleminding, both 456 and 530 are actually pretty nice.
488 is also pretty beast; technically not a foulspawn, but it's totally a crossbreed results, which counts well enough for me. Can also hit chimeras, which if not the most amazing slot wise are still plenty tanky and somewhat air attuned.

For non-transformation foulspawn, basilisks are sexy, if not as a commander chassis. So are grotesques, if not the most amazing of things slot wise, with draco-lions roughly in the same place. Plenty of foulspawn/crossbreed results that are solid units.

... though checking those, how exactly does attunement work from the mod angle? Pretty sure airattune 50 doesn't give you 50 levels of air, so, uh. Yeah. Percentile chance, base boost? Something else? Could probably check the modding resources but it's mildly easier to just ask :P

College classes would hammer that point in even harder, if they're a class worth taking, since something like half the point of the things are teaching you how to communicate in the field you're dealing with, be it work, academia, or general use. Which means using letters and whatnot other people will understand, heh.

And they're equally unacceptable, is most of the point :P

Still, yeah, if it can get a chuckle and the teachers are okay with using it occasionally, it'd probably be alright to use to that extent. Just... don't internalize it as something you normally do. You really, really shouldn't.

11471
And... no, if they're decent teachers, they would expect you to stop using it (at least if you try to for anything besides one-off stuff or jokes and whatnot), because it's bad practice for general use writing, which is largely what they should be teaching. Once or twice, or occasionally when it's appropriate and makes for a possible chuckle, it would be okay if you've got a decent relationship with the teacher, but actually trying to use it regularly would (or should, anyway) be looked on... poorly.

Also, if you're looking for ways to shorten, consider shorthand! It's useful stuff, supposedly, and something of a dying art. Basically no one knows it, but that puts it right in line with thorn, so :V

11472
... well, you're welcome to try, but don't expect anyone to know what it is, and expect to be marked points off for spelling if you use it in anything graded :V

11473
... usually, yes. There's very rare occasions when it's appropriate, but it should pretty much never be used in anything even resembling normal writing.

The vast, vast majority of english readers will have no idea what that is, or that a "letter Thorne" even exists. E: Tellingly, autocorrect set it to "Throne" and doesn't even recognize it as a word.

Though checking google shows that's because you misspelled thorn, heh. Still, no, it should pretty much never be used in modern english.

Cooee. Shame it looks like there's not very many adept crossbreeders in the game. Half are pretender chassis, heh.

E: Note to self: When wanting to play around with crossbreeding on a small map, don't claim the throne of the pantokrator. The poor AI's dominion can't take that.

... say, speaking of luck, is it scales or just... luck on the caster, that benefits crossbreeding?
