Other Games / Re: The "Recommend me a game" thread

Any game on the pc with ridiculous amounts of customization similar to recent Etrian games?

I like me some customiz.
You... might consider checking out the touhou labyrinth games?

And yeah, pretty much all the TA and TA derived games (Save PA, I guess) have the potential to build walls (of dragons teeth, if nothing else) and a pretty solid campaign. Mind you, the walls are usually of pretty questionable usefulness, but they're there.

There was nothing subtle about hotline miami :P

11508
Party Hard?

"can't sleep murder game" sans quotes was what found it in google, if it is and you're curious.

11509
Don't forget the scorpion tails :P

11510
*fist shake* You reverted to girl in the fourth sentence! :P

Though yeah, that's also why I added the etc., aheh.

11511
How many times have I seen a woman with an A cup in anything? Like... zero? Lina Inverse doesn't count. I know what a flat girl looks like and that is not it >_>
I'unno vec, flat is a pretty common character body archetype these days, anime/manga wise. It's usually played pretty crudely (pettanko, etc.), but it's fairly common. One for every harem anime!

... and other places, but that's probably the genre you're going to find the most ubiquitous appearances. For better or worse. Plenty of other places too, though. Generally for younger characters, but not always.

In own happies, watching through an LP of Wonderful 101. Goddamn, that game is apparently amazing, particularly from the lighthearted action standpoint. Almost makes me want to see about getting the system it's on, just to play it...

Ha, yeah, I thought of saying it before noticing the edit, but a foulspawn nation definitely seems like something the NG randomization ethos would seriously benefit. Should be interesting to see when it gets finished, heh. Maybe even start up a FS only game :V

They should totally get an artifact that has improved crossbreeding on it, though. Maybe an (extremely) expensive const 6 item that has the lower version, too. Maybe give 'em population eater if an item can do that, or the BVC thingy... would possibly be best if it didn't work without pop in the province, but eh. Something to represent basically converting the people en-masse to foulspawn. Would be neat.

11513
Yeah, grandpappy or mammy or whatever can whitewash and distort at least as easily.

Seriously though, you don't exactly need to talk to someone that bombed civilians or shelled cities to know that shit's wack. I've ran into both, one in family, and I heard them talk about it a long time after I realized that, yeah, that's bad juju.

11514
... I won't lie, now I'm thinking of a nation that consists of literally nothing but freespawn foulspawn, from the troops to the commanders. Temples, labs, and forts all change what shows up in the province.

Though the easiest way to do that, iirc, would probably be a single commander that has a very broad list of what summon ally can pull up, or themselves freespawn specific stuff. Or a handful with different specifications. Is mostly how that one amazing fungus mod did it in Dom 3. Really freaking wish someone would port that over to D4. Would do it myself, but I don't even know where to start :-\

11515
That'd be easy, at least. Kinda' like a cataclysm game, really...

Ah... unfortunate, heh. Those are actually two of my higher up combos. Bake a potato, cut it in half, crosshatch and drizzle a bit of teriyaki sauce, wait a few seconds for it to set in. Chop it up, add to the other dish, possibly with a bit of cheese (particularly for the rice -- cheese and rice go together amazingly, in my experience) and/or meat, season as desired with spices and whatnot. Also have found mashed potatoes make an excellent thickener for noodles and suchlike. Can make it easier to eat (less splatter) or add stuff that doesn't mix well with hot water (like cheese :V), heh.

Also occasionally mix noodles and rice, heh. The teriyaki beef bowls y'buy where'er go together wonderfully with rice, t'me. Tend to do that more for leftovers (say I'll have a bit of rice left from last meal, but not really enough for a full meal -- throw a bowl o'noodles in it!), but still. Also absolutely love the taste of mac & cheese and mashed potatoes, makes the meal a lot more heavy/fulfilling, yeah. Or rice instead*. Buncha' other stuff like that, really. My default low effort cooking is "Cook two things, put them in a bowl, stir."

Still, taste is taste, and if it doesn't work for yeh it doesn't work. Tis nothin' wrong with that.

*I actually have a breakfast rice mixture that's built around that. Take eggy rice (rice with an egg or two put in it in the last 3-5 minutes of cooking; easily the simplest way to add egg to rice and is friggin' glorious.) and mac & cheese, cook 'em up, stick 'em in a bowl with bacon or whatev', stir well. I likes it, and most of the family has given positive review. Can also leave out the M&C, but at that point it's really just eggy rice with breakfast meats. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as it's delicious, of course.

Oh... yeah, if you're not doing moderation it's a problem. When I use bullion it's usually even less amounts than the dish calls for salt -- the intent is to add flavor, not add food to the bullion. Also yeah, I cook without it plenty, especially when I'm cooking for someone else, heh. And it is a big difference! Try it some time, and you'll find eating 4-7 different things over the course of a week repeatedly is a goddamn hell of a lot of a difference compared to eating the same thing every day of the week for a while, ahaha. A little bit of variation really does help a lot with that sort of thing.

Though yeah, Rol, you can do that. Cooking with alcohol to varying degrees is fairly common -- it usually burns away most of the poison and just leaves the taste. I prefer to just use whatever the alcohol was made from without the brainkillers, m'self (it usually tastes better that way :P), but it's a thing. Beer bread (you can also use sodas and stuff for that, which can be pretty amazing), wine's common for marinades, beer battered whatever, etc., and so forth.

Also would totally recommend mixing grains occasionally -- you can start with something simple, like adding croutons (or ghetto croutons, which is just chopped up toast :V) to rice or somethin', and then see what else works for you. I throw rice into a bunch of other stuff, and a bunch of other stuff into rice, heh, just as an example. Simply throwing together two things you like to eat is one of the easiest ways to start experimenting with what you cook, ha!

General Discussion / Re: Whassup with all these bans?

Nah, T1 did. The captain one nearest the bottom. Boss toad usually puts them up unless they've only been around for a few days or whatev'.

Though @IO, the bigoted remarks tend to be multiple offenses, too, especially if they're oblique instead of direct -- burningpet, ferex, was spewing hatred against muslims for quite a while before they got squished. I'd say the difference in whether repeated or not is used in the log is more a writing quirk than anything.

That said, yeah, there is a bit more leniency in regards to heated tempers compared to bigotry, especially if there's not a pattern of the former. Toady's fairly understanding of the occasional bad day making you feisty so long as it's not a substantial pattern or common occurrence. Not so much deciding to start throwing racial slurs and whatnot around.

11519
It doesn't, actually! Mostly because you vary bullion. I've got like four different kinds in the cupboards, heh. And sometimes you don't use it, of course, because you don't want to add any salt to the dish.

Also no, no onions. Onions taste horrific :V

... to me, anyway. You might have some idea how freakishly irritating that is if you have any cognizance regarding how much onion is used in cooking. Shit is everywhere and it takes very little to inundate an entire plate with the goddamn taste :-\

Really not difficult. Avoid stereotyping of demographics, especially offensively, don't use slurs, and that's about it. Most of those bigoted remarks bans are because people... didn't. It's really easy to prove when someone's basically acting like it's /pol/ or some crap.

You can believe it, I guess, but the problem boss toad has is opening your mouth about it. You'd think it wouldn't be difficult to not do that, but, well. The log est.
