Alright, well... llamaserver says turn received and .2h looks fine, so... we'll see! Someone sacrifice a goat to the blasphemous and nonexistent gods of IT for our team.

Smj, if they're hitting race, too, I don't think even the divided scotus will avoid kicking it in the face.

Auto insurance companies provide certainty in an uncertain world at a very low price.
... usually not a very low price. Maybe lower than health, but sometimes friggin' rent is lower than health. But yeah, auto's relatively useful considering how bloody dangerous vehicles are and the whole way it very directly involves other people much of the time.

And hadn't heard yet, will. Dunno how else to express it besides "sucks". Though it'll probably get knocked down in the scotus, but... ugh.

I thought Obamacare was done because the market wasn't (bbcode is a PITA to do on mobile) fixing itself?
Eh, sorta'. One of the goals involved was making the situation re: accurate market forces somewhat less freakishly warped, yeah. Lotta' other stuff going on, though, not just that... the ACA was, to a large extent, just kinda' throwing every conceivable thing the folks involved could get through at the wall and seeing what stuck.

I got a little screwed by it, myself, but that's mostly because florida's legislature is a piece of shit, not so much the act itself. Near as I've heard anything regarding the national level, the ACA has... really kinda' improved things. Substantially. Folks are still falling through cracks, but there's less of them and they tend to be not quite as deep.

I'm not sure that's entirely speaking in its favor, as you probably could have just literally taken an axe to the medical fields' upper managements and improved things as well, but... still. It's less shit than it was. Not a high bar, that, but it's now a higher one.

Speaking of VotD, is there any way to find those unit stats on mod inspector? Wasn't linked anywhere there and it's been a while since I had seen it in action.
It's these guys. Dead ones. Not much to 'em, really, you generally don't expect vengeance to actually directly kill anything particularly powerful (though it can wreck flimsier damaging battlefield casters pretty easily and does alright if the target doesn't have magic weapons), you expect it to outnumber them so badly the turn limit shows up and everyone dies. Or fatigue 'em out by sheer weight of bodies, if by some odd coincidence something worthing of targeting with VotD isn't fatigue neutral.

And yeah, as per AlStar re: transformation. Just remember most of the time it's going to give you a notably worse spellcaster if the one casting the ritual relies on boosters to any extent. There are some full or almost full slot transformation results, but not very many. Still, if that's not an issue, it's usually pretty good stuff. Animals tend to be beefier than humanform casters (so better battlecasters), and that's not getting into the sexy forms that are available if you get really lucky.

Haven't had PM contact, unless it was just to iwi, so... yeah. Possible mini still doesn't have internet access.

Could step in for a turn or three, I guess? Feeling somewhat less lazy >_>

Is decent infrastructure an impossibility?
In a technical sense, no? There's plenty of places where it's mostly fine, there's just... also a lot of places where it isn't. And the US is effing huge, so keeping it all in good shape is somewhat expensive.

... also a lot of the industries supporting it are corrupt as fuck (road construction is just holy shit what the hell in a lot of places in the US, ferex), which doesn't help with the expense aspect.

Also doesn't help that spending has been fairly steady (relative to GDP, anyway), but we've been expanding our road system at the same time, which... should be an obvious problem. Can't really do sufficient maintenance when huge chunks of the budget are going into expansion (which further increases the maintenance costs and, well. Tantrum spiral.).

And other issues. It's a friggin' gigantic and hella' complex issue.

And yeah, multi-billion is almost understating it. 2014 spending was ~416 billion just for public spending on water and transportation. To frame it to better contextualize things for you, OW, the US infrastructure costs in 2014 was around 2-3x New Zealand's total GDP. And it's still kinda' shitty in a lot of places. Basically it's not impossible, but it takes the concentrated effort of what's equivalent to multiples of entire countries, just to fail slower.

I'm not sure why that's relevant, but okay.
Bad infrastructure makes basically everything worse, OW. Harder to get out of situations that would drive you to violence (e.g. what baff mentioned), easier to get sick (bad water, electricity issues in areas with dangerous temperatures, various building issues that cause problems, etc., etc.). It's a pretty fair statement to make that a notable amount of the problems the poverty stricken parts of the US (in particular, if not exclusively) have are due to lack in basic amenities, including shelter, transportation, and water. Those are infrastructure issues, y'know?

Can you do something useful with nature trolls?
Basically no, tbh. The nature summon one is 1D1N 100% EDN with nothing going for it except being a troll, whereas the kings are both 3 in their respective paths and gem generators. Their coterie also significantly better than the forest troll one, too -- the forest trolls are basically the worst trolls. There's a reason the forest troll tribe is 37N compared to the courts' 55X, heh.

You could do a little bit with it, maybe -- about as much as you could do with any 2D or 2N caster, if you get lucky and get those instead of ending up with a more or less junk (barring trinket casting and site searching, anyway) 1E1D1N -- but you can't squeeze them for nearly as much as you can the kings.

E: Well, thinking on that a little, a nature nation could use them to break into death, if they've absolutely got no better access. And a bucketload of conjuration research; the easiest 3D summon that could top a 2D one seems to be mound fiends at conj 7, heh. Maybe a lamia queen, which a 2N shaman in a nature nation might be able to boost up to...

Course, if you've got enough death gems laying around that burning that much N to be able to start spending them is a good idea, you've probably already got death access. So... yeah. Forest troll tribe isn't the best of unit summoning spells, heh.

That... last bit actually isn't entirely true. The character vault's only roguelike ghoul rogue winner* did... basically what you're talking about. Staff build, max shadowstrike, max stealth. Can't recall if they used illuminate much** (if I'm remembering right, they leaned on gravity traps in the end, or something along those lines), but they basically leveraged the build you're talking about into a ghoul win with no deaths and a class with exactly one built-in tie in to the magic stat (via mystical cunning). A shadowblade would probably have an even easier time of it, they've got a significantly better kit for those kind of shenanigans... don't have the gravity trap, but have much better options for pushing the magic part around.

*This one. Several versions back, but I don't think anything in particular has changed to make it less viable (or more, because it was viable in roughly the same way melee summoners are). Being fair, tiger eye is/was probably one of the best T4 players I'm aware of, but... still.
**E: Actually, I just looked at their generics, heh. They didn't even have illuminate :P

Sorta'. Embers adds a steampunk inscription system, that works for the undead (and everyone else, including anti-magic users; the medical injectors/steam engines are the least restricted inscriptions in the game) and provides most of the important things infusions do (Healing, debuff stripping -- in the particular, it's a hell of a lot better at that than wild infusions are -- and die_at and whatnot. Plus there's other stuff that can double for movement infusions, heh.). That and lacking the ability to use equilibrium talents are about the only downsides an undead has (and the equilibrium stuff is pretty ignorable, ha), and medical injectors/salves pretty comfortably replaces infusions for most things. It's pretty good stuff, yeah.

Downside is it's a bit rough getting schematics in the maj'eyal campaign, but eh.

E: Well, that and it takes a cat point and saving an escort (plus some generic point investment) to unlock the things in the main campaign. Helluva' lot cheaper in the embers campaign if you're rolling with a rogue there.

Vision runes (or just plain vision, if you get a seer escort), track, playing very very slowly. Don't forget stealth (stealth is freaking amazing), probably skim through the weapon shops to see if you can nab up a steel dagger or two early on. Maybe play skeleton or somethin' -- built in tankiness helps a lot with the early game deaths (and if you're running embers and can spare the cat point and some generics, you can offset pretty much all the normal undead issues). Rogues do freakish amounts of damage once they get rolling, and have native track -- you should be the one doing the one-shotting in the early east, heh. Definitely play adventure difficulty if you're trying for unlocks. Also don't forget thick skin and resistances -- +HP's very nice, but after a point resistance is probably going to be getting you more bang for your buck. Map control and awareness will be getting you more than either, but still.

... though with rogue, you should be able to unlock marauder well before the East if you're building for it, unless something's changed that I wasn't noticing. Iirc you can usually hit for 600 around level 20, 22 -- standard build for it is stack up some poisons, hit 'em with a 5/5 venomous strike with maxed shadowstrike (hide in plain sight, to get the stealth back, probably). Maybe use a 2-hander (and stick points into weapon instead of dagger mastery) for the v.strike attack. You'll hit like a truck, and with the damage all rolled into one source like the cheevo needs.

Vegetables are delicious.
Gods, but I wish. I've yet to find a non-grain, non-tuber (potatoes, etc.), non-fruit vegetable that didn't taste absolutely vile to me. Bloody annoying, since I'd really like to eat healthier, but there's not much you can do when "healthier" tastes so bad it literally causes you to vomit :-\

Medical science needs to hurry up and let us edit junk like that at whim. I'd like to be able to eat a salad without worshiping the porcelain god after a few bites...

Giant/high hp full slot prophet in the middle of a GoH dominion, major N bless and whatever kit you need to keep from getting instakilled from soul slay or whatev'? Properly equipped prophet golem, maybe.
