man, the agrarian revolution comes along and I'll be going deeper into the swamp, not out of it

it'd be safer where they can't don't want to find you.

11717
It might even be fine until the swamp boys catch it >_>

... was that the one from months (weeks? I know there was a relatively recent spat of stuff along those lines, but frankly it's starting to blur together) ago, or have they started saying that again for the Nth time?

Also good gods is that title stupid, at least insofar as the address goes. The FBI literally can't indict anyone. It's not one of their powers. All they can do is collect evidence and recommend a course of action to the judiciary, or something along those lines.

It... would be kinda' interesting, thinking on it, to have something like that. Basically wreck a province in exchange for a magic site of some sort. I could totally see a death ritual that ate 50+% of the population and set up one of those disease wells, ferex (ermor would friggin' love that :P), or one of the squiddies getting the ability to drop one of those illithid sites on a province for a similar cost. Bonus points if you could require a certain amount of population for the ritual to work, so you couldn't just turn your low value provinces into something more useful. Maybe something that eats all of a province's income/resources to drastically increase its resources/income. All sorts of stuff.

Custom sites would bring a lot more to that table so far as balance goes, too. I could see some really interesting stuff done with that... it'd be hella' neat to trade a province's population (or permanently damage its income and/or resources or whatev') for a PD granting site or somethin'.

E: What would be incredible would be to give one (or more) of the underwater nations a ritual spell that just straight up sinks the (coastal) province it's cast in. Kills the population outright and makes the province UW... maybe give it a new bit of seed pop to represent UW sentients moving in afterwards. I'd friggin' love something like that, it'd give an UW nation something rather incredibly annoying :V

... someone should make, like. A scenario or somethin'. That starts off with basically every omni-hostile roaming entity in the game (maybe some of them with multiples) already up and roaming. Maybe several really nasty global enchantments, too. Basically make the thing a hellworld full of wandering horrors, and see who can survive to conquer it. That sounds like it'd be good for a laugh :V

Almost everything they do triggers a melee attack... at range. Their basic thing is that when they land a shot, if they're wearing a mindstar in the offhand (and have psiblades turned off, which I didn't notice before), they take a swing with the mindstar at whatever they hit. It's fairly similar to that one TW talent that makes one-attack melee clones when you hit something with an arrow (except I think that's on a % chance now... this is just always).

They've also got mechanical hands, a sustain which can trigger two melee attacks per turn, at short range. Admittedly their melee hits are all one mindstar swings, but, well. You get a fair amount of them, and even if the raw damage isn't mindblowing they still proc everything that normally procs from a melee hit. And it can do it ten squares out.

The really fun one is I've got one talent that both triggers the melee hit at range, and counts as a mind talent. And I picked up meteor crash. Between that, the hands, and an incendiary groove... I'm doing a fair amount of fire damage.

Also most of the screen tends to always be on fire :V

E: Oh yeah, did the distorted time thing today. Re: the question of canon gender, the text there appears to be randomized -- class/gender is probably going to change with playthrough.

... though I did just realize I can, y'know, just go look at the code. /data/lore/pocket-time.lua. The text does indeed change... seems to be based off your last winner? Or a winner. Something like that. There's basically no actual canon scourge, apparently :P

... oh my, hands of creation on a psyshot is just mean. I like it, ahaha!

I actually had those three in mind off the top of my head :P

Zoro was nice-ish but got ganked pretty hard and is now more or less very dead, Zen was pretty strongly correlated with the whole samurai thing (which came with nasty, nasty associations) -- it's branched out a lot since, but considering the starting point and initial run it definitely had/has a lot of things very, very wrong -- zionism's basically the conspiracy world's boogieman... I think the observation stands pretty well. They're either very badly flawed, dead, or have a rather rough reputation. I'm having trouble thinking of a Z* that doesn't have a fair amount of trouble, heh.

11724
No ideology with a noun starting with Z or a Z equivalent got it right.

...

Though thinking on it somewhat, that may be a startlingly accurate statement. Z* movements seem to either do somewhat poorly or catch a pretty bad rep...

You can get meditation, yes, but I'm relatively sure it doesn't come automatically. Same escort that can get you earth eyes. An archmage can't, though -- it's only for characters that dump one of the escorts (I've forgotten the exact one) onto the zigs. Plenty of other ways to regen equilibrium, though -- there's regen on hit on all sorts of equipment, and self-flagellation is still an option, iirc. Plus I think some other ways I'm forgetting.

For an archmage, yeah, harmony's pretty intensely iffy. About the best thing you can offer for it is you've probably got easy ways to proc the fire aspect of the sustain (which'd stack somewhat with essence of speed, iirc). The actives are... there. But not terribly useful, most of the time (imo), and the sexier parts of them are stuff an AM's kit doesn't really need/already has rough equivalents for.

To be fair, the corruption option isn't really amazing, either, but that passive heal on crit/kill is pretty hefty, and you're probably already building crit to some extent, so you'd get good use out of it. Maybe not the best place to put your generics, but it wouldn't be a bad place to put your generics by any means.

I am a fairly liberal person living in conservativeland. And while i do tend to avoid talking politics, ive never had hate for it or repercussions attached to expressing a view.
Hey, I'm a fairly liberal person living in conservativeland, too. I've seen limbs broken over not toeing the conservative line. I've specifically had people tell me they would think I'd be incapable of understanding morality if I admitted to being anything but christian. The list kinda' rolls on. If it's overblown for your area, all I can do is express the most genuine of congratulations it is, because no one should have to live through this shit.

11728
Friends, no, but lying to the coworkers and claiming to be intent to may be a survival tactic in places like the one I live in.

To be fair, I wouldn't feel comfortable talking politics with just about anyone in the general area on basically any subject. Too much of a chance of getting attacked, and almost a certainty of it damaging future job prospects et al. Lot less live and let live on the conservative side of the political spectrum :-\

I have riven no administrations to the best of my memory
Hint: This is why they kept telling you to stay away from the moonshine.

I mean, you don't remember that either, but...

Lotta' folks down here in the lower boards don't play much DF, meph :P

... you'll also note DF actually has a save and quit function, heh. Imagine if you could only save DF at season change.
