There's something grimly hilarious about this when the states have major politicians calling for a complete ban of muslims entering the nation, and have a history of fairly complete travel sanctions regarding other countries *coughcubacough*. I guess it's only a problem when other nations do it :V

For what it's worth, I found the timing to be pretty hilarious. Good for a chuckle. Any idea if whoever made it made the thing before or after the debate?

Apparently her closing words were, "May the Force be with you."

I'unno, I'd be okay with a sith president. Palpatine did pretty good for humans, and we don't have anything except humans for Darth... Calamity? That'd probably be a good one for clinton. To mess with. I, for one, welcome the aggressive advance of cloning technologies.

Potato has a pretty distinct flavor, and this stuff just had that same aggressive lack that rice cakes embody. I've gotten more taste out of munching on dried potato flakes.

Also I've had flavored ones, too. They're arguably even worse, because you have the taste, and then you have this undercurrent of non-taste making everything worse -- you'd literally be better off just mixing together some salt and vinegar or whatev' and eating it raw. Even when the flavored ones are fresh, the cakes themselves make it taste like they're a month stale or somethin'. Horrible stuff.

Maybe he just hates dolphins or somethin'?

The ones I tried didn't have the neutral inoffensive taste of rice cakes - they actually tasted like lentils. Of course, I hate lentils.  :P
I think you mean offensively neutral taste of rice cakes. I swear, rice cakes are the snack food of people who hate themselves, their lives, and everything involved in the sensation of taste. Or at least the ones they sell around here are. They're like cardboard's even more bland cousin. And I mean that very literally, as I have tasted cardboard. Least flavorful anything I've ever tasted, rice cakes are, and the texture is faintly horrific.

These things tasted pretty much dead on for 'em, just in a different shape and somewhat different texture. How the hell they managed that with something made mostly with potato starch and lentil powder I have no goddamn clue.

I kinda' want to find out, so I can strangle everyone that has knowledge of the black magics involved and ensure the stuff stops being sold.

It... it's a nipple slip. When someone has a wardrobe malfunction and things go on display. Why you'd want that, I don't know, but on the other hand I can't help but admit I'd be somewhat amused if every candidate walked on stage topless.

And oiled up. Can't forget the oil. If you're going to do something like that on national television, you should glisten.

Update: Oh god, they taste like those horrible fluffy round rice cake monstrosities. The ones primarily produced by Quaker Oats, in this region, I think. If you've ever experienced the taste sensation of dry salty cardboard, you know of what I speak.

I have tried one. I will eat no more. Blegh.

So other house person has apparently bought a bag of lentil chips. Crisps, for you weird speaking folks. Pea chips are wtf enough on their own, imo, but that's not really the odd thing about them.

Their two most substantial ingredients are lentil powder and potato starch. These... these aren't lentil chips. They're pea impregnated potato chips. I, just. I don't understand.

I mean, I do understand -- it's very much like gluten free potato chips (no shit, sherlock!) and being marketed to a similar demographic -- but...

Yeah, same flight and mile high club initiation comes to immediate thought. Also communication and whatnot's really easy these days, and there's not terrible odds that someone at the same stopover is either from near where you came from or are going, so... it's not the worst venue to pursue a relationship of varying lengthiness. Far from the best, but people can get really goddamn bored waiting for a flight.

Cheers meph, persus! I will perform an imaginary celebratory backflip in recognition of y'alls generosity :V

I'd do a real one, but my spine couldn't handle it, so... thanks :3

Government also has a fair amount of data it could pursue as thought crime, and does, though, as we've seen from persistent accounts of harassment and infiltration and whatnot of various activist (and in more recent years, religious as well) groups. It's fair to be leery about giving them more official powers to, well, do just that.

Erm... that's probably more to do with illegal gambling and suchlike.
Can't say for sure, though, but I doubt they have a specialist unit dedicated to combating all those troublesome videogame nerds.
Online gaming in general is actually fairly well known as an avenue for communication between various criminal groups, last I checked. Not the largest one, but one nonetheless. And there's quite a few fraud/ID theft/etc. schemes ran via gaming of various sorts. There's definitely enough crime invested in "those videogame nerds" and a unique enough environment involved to warrant a specialist or two (hundred).

... well, if you're intent on going through that much effort, what are your complaints about it?

I think I finally came upon a title for one of the song-like things that have been ruminating in my head for the last... half decade or so. "Intercontinental Geophilic Disaster." It is a combination of words and sorta' words that makes me happy :3
