Just watched the first episode of Comet Lucifer, and I think I have the same question/protest as 90% of the people who saw it: How the hell did they survive that fall, never mind coming out of it completely uninjured?!
They didn't.

Saying they're going to arrow the big papa (commander) giants 'cause they've got all of abeig's male population trapped in the capital, presumably under siege.

... incompetence of that degree is indistinguishable from malice, and should probably be treated the same way.

But nah, last I heard no one can seem to puzzle out what the hell happened there. Stories were changing rapidly and cheerfully contradicting each other.

There were plenty of chapter-based games that didn't do the first free, though, or had the shareware give only limited access to the first chapter (basically a demo). Would say there was a bit of a drought for the things for a while, and that they've now apparently switched genres -- about the most likely ones to work like that were platformers, followed by FPS games, iirc, then other stuff. It actually wasn't common at all for point & click et al, from what I can recall -- but yeah, the whole episodic thing isn't exactly new.

... to be fair, typing competency can do quite a bit to help out someone unfamiliar with computers be more comfortable with them. One of the more common frustrations I see with folks that aren't used to the machines is a difficulty with input -- working the keyboard, working the mouse. Being able to type even somewhat smoothly, consistently remembering which mouse button to click and where, etc. It helps them a fair bit if they can at least manage that much before getting into more complicated stuff. Mitigates a level of frustration.

Presumably for similar reasons that floridians haven't burnt this entire fucking swamp straight to the bedrock and started over in a notably less hellish area, maybe on top of the subsequent ashen wasteland. Too much effort, too much inertia saying not to. Cali's big, and there's a lot of folks in it. Getting them all to do something is less like herding cats and more like herding sentient cat tidal waves.

Doesn't really seem to be, going by the LP stuff? Pretty appropriate for a dark fantasy bit based on slavic folklore. It's just not so drab and monochrome as to be hard to see what the hell is going on. The art direction that I've seen is fairly spot on for what the scenario is supposed to be, imo.

Eh, you can check footage of the combat. It's... not really a card game -- there's no randomness, drawing, etc., so far as I could tell -- it's just using cards to represent characters. Presumably to give a simple visual representation of turn order and whatnot, without having to bother with fancy graphics.

... which is probably the reason why card-based stuff is common nowadays. It's generally a lot easier to make art assets for 'em. Plus you've got built in expectations (booster packs, etc., which thea at least seems to mercifully lack) you can pattern (some of) your monetization options off of. They do tend to be lazily implemented, but that's kinda' true for... whatever, card based or not.

Nah, jeb fucked other things up, too. Personally just tend to pipe up about the guy re: his education buggery 'cause that's his screwup that hit closest to home.

... looking at that LP, it looks pretty neat, if a little clumsy UI wise. Price is more than I can rationalize splashing at th'mo, though.

12687
Less than the other republicans, though! Somewhat. It's a plus.

Eh, I wouldn't call that a very accurate evaluation. Gate does have that going on, but no more than just about any piece of milwank fiction for <insert respective military> -- it's pretty genre normative as that goes. Folks calling it like that are ones I'd say have never actually read any other military-themed fiction in their life :V

... it's actually a bit of a sumbitch to get on welfare in the states, and pretty close to impossible, so far as I'm aware, if you don't have a valid SSN. US is pretty backward in a number of ways, but it also has a pretty good hate-on for the poor. Most of it (and I'm only saying most because I haven't actually been in all the states -- there might be one that isn't a jackass about it) doesn't make welfare easy.

... know spellcheck gotcha, but just a minor heads up before it tweaks someone's braincells: Milgram has no repeat letters in it 'cept the ms.
