One more year and mine'll be legal to drink :V

... could use some work at the moment, but it's holding up pretty well for a '95 model.

Ah. Then it's for those masochistic nutjobs (and truckers, I guess) that don't drive automatics. Gotcha'. Explains why I don't really know what it is :V

... at least for most of the vehicles I've driven, the left foot just isn't used. I guess it's more of a stick shift thing?

E: Honestly, at this point, I'm remembering I don't actually know what the hell the clutch is. I know it has to do with cars, but if I've seen one I didn't recognize it, and as near as I can recall I've never had need of it. Probably for the best, really. The less distractions/moving parts to manage while driving, the better.

Ask your teacher. Unless one of us happen to have taken the exact same course, under the exact same teacher, in the exact same school, recently, we would be entirely incapable of being able to answer your question with even the most remote degree of certainty.

As a general thing, no, new editions usually don't really add that much in regards to raw knowledge, but they do often change a lot of the associated coursework around, to the point even if the text itself is roughly equivalent to older editions, you couldn't pass the course with it anyway. About your best bet insofar as that goes would be to buddy up with someone in the class that does have the newer edition (possibly chip in to help them defray the cost involved, or offer some cash or coursework aid as incentive), to be able to have access to the changed material in question.

... and to your PS, the authors involved usually don't actually make that much money off the texts. Sometimes barely any. The prices you're seeing is largely due to the horrific price gouging being inflicted on everyone by the publishers, who reap the vast majority of the profit involved.

Bush did issue a ban in '06, but apparently it was still enough of an issue that barack felt the need to issue another one in '09, that also included other torture methods. Make of that what you will.

... as per usual, if you can't improve on the OP and/or don't intend to maintain the thread, and you actually have something to contribute (new information, maybe trying to drum up interest or share some nice experiences), it's usually better to just necro. No need to make another thread when there's already one there that's as serviceable as the one you'd make.

If it's intensifying enough for caps, you might want to turn the dial back down, OW. Maybe remove the vibrator altogether, I'unno. Chaffing is a serious issue with serious consequences.

And any reasonably realistic racing game will have uses for the brake.
While that is true, near as I've been able to tell over the years the majority of racing games aren't reasonably realistic. Probably for the better, really.

As to the cycle lanes, I see 'em often enough, but I damn sure wouldn't want to use them as a cyclist. There's this thing where, y'know, cars like to use them as car lanes. Not somewhere someone on a bicycle really wants to be. Anywhere near that bloody road is not somewhere someone on a bicycle wants to be :-\

Every once in a long while I'll see one where it's actually off the road, with some kind of physical barrier (or at least the sidewalk or somethin') between it and where they death boxes are. Those are alright. I've seen like two in my lifetime.

If you don't already have one, USB controller. Think you can nab one for 10-15, including shipping? Something along those lines. Then use the rest on cheap but good stuff. Don't fall into the trap of thinking you have to buy one thing, or that only stuff over X dollars in price is a good buy. Possibly save the money for the winter game sales or somethin', if games are your primary interest.

Other Games / Re: How do you handle games that piss you off to no end?

... that would be the answer, yes. If you don't like it, especially to that extent, don't play it. There's not really a way to improve the experience of playing something you detest.

... mind you, only ten or so is still basically nothing, especially compared to the empornening* monolith that is touhou. I've seen less, but quite rarely.

*This is now a word. All who disagree can shut up.

... not in any racing game. Hell, most of the ones I've actually played don't have gear shifting, and the proper time to break is "never" in practically every racing game I've experienced. Pretty sure I've played some at some point that just flat out don't have breaks, period.

The graphics for dungeonmans are indeed kinda' so-so (and was indeed a turn off, initially), but the game itself is actually pretty solid. I'd probably recommend giving it a try -- there's an old kickstarter build floating around, looking at it, insofar as legal options go (though it's a fair bit behind the current version insofar as content goes, apparently). Think if I was trying to summarize it, I'd call it something roughly in between ToME4 and Dungeons of Dreadmor, with a bit of a succession mechanic added in (sorta' like rogue legacy, actually). It is commercial, though, which may or may not be an issue. Forget what the price point is.

Also, it had some sort of music album released over on OC Remix at some point that might be worth checking out. Some alright bits of song.

That silly image I made some time ago is going to live forever at this rate. And you chucklefucks don't even know who Suguri is.
didn't*

had been wondering about that for a while, was too lazy to ask...

and yeah p, google seems to suggest that's accurate. Definitely not touhou, there's, like, almost no suguri porn.

Also that was good picture. Think I saved it somewhere.

The thing is, yes she is medicating for depression.
Hrg, sorry. Should have clarified with an "and sometimes even if they are." Mi madre, for example, has been on antidepressants for... something like fifteen, twenty years, I think, probably more by now, and if she goes off them the symptoms still come back, despite pretty much everything having improved since then, tremendously on many levels. And even on them it's not terribly difficult for her to fall back in to a depressive cycle. It's sometimes not really the most rational of afflictions, unfortunately.

... but yeah, seeing ways that would help to improve the situation, at least, and not being able to attain them is incredibly frustrating. As a person in a family with an almost ubiquitous history of depression, all I can say is I sympathize pretty sincerely. It's also, unfortunately, something that's pretty much guaranteed to happen if you're working with someone with long-term depression... probably repeatedly.

It's a vaguely damning (because gods fuck if it weren't so) thing to have repeated, but it's a mantra you just kinda' have to have when you're dealing with someone living with depression -- you're going to have things like this happen, and a lot of the time all you can really do is... be there, at best. And it's hard to emphasize how much being there helps, even if it doesn't seem like it in the short run. Be there, help how you can, wait for the next opportunity to help, even if this one is unobtainable. It can be a hard path, and a long one. Sometimes one without an end. But... your loved ones are worth it, yeah? Seems to be the thing you have to keep in mind, especially during the bad patches.
