... have you considered life advice? That's... probably the better place for these sorts of questions.

... y'know, I've changed my mind on the god of highschool being shoddy. It's not just shoddy, it's a good shoddy. All over the gorram place in a lot of ways, but somewhere around half way through it became more engaging. Don't ask me to pinpoint exactly why (Maybe it's the stand knockoffs?), but it actually gets kinda' nice as things go along.

I... still probably wouldn't recommend it. But as second-string stuff goes, it's pretty alright, and the style's pretty nice, if somewhat inconsistently so.

Also, after a point the eyes start becoming amusing. Like, half the cast has funky eyes. Still not sure what the hell's going on with the MC's.

Conditions evidentially bad enough that food, sentence reduction, and more (/any) walkabout is worth risking injury, serious injury, and (not yet, which is at least something) death, is one of those things I question as being actually volunteer. Maybe with some air quotes around the word, I'unno. The incentive at all makes it questionable. Considering the likelihood of internal pressures as well... good program is not what I'd call something like what's being discussed. Maybe superficially so, but not much beyond that.

The (barely existent, notably undercutting non-criminal paid firefighters) pay and bad joke* that is suggesting the skills they're learning is something that's going to help them afterwards is just icing on the cake.

Mild frustration vented, as per SG, yeah, getting people out and helping is a good thing, so long as it's actually being helpful and not just being as bloody exploitative and counterproductive as much of our penal system is.

*The numbers involved should make it incredibly clear that the experience is getting the participants jack-all after release. If they were, nearly half the cali firefighting force wouldn't be coming out of prison programs -- they'd be ex-cons with training, doing the job they already did.

Technically firefighter organizations in the states don't automatically disqualify people with a criminal record for actual employment, but it's the next best thing -- same with most other fields the skills they're learning would be applicable. Last I checked it can even get you barred from a bloody volunteer position.

... innit mpc media player classic? Use that for most of my video playing needs, m'self. I guess it can do music to, but... don't recall it really being a dedicated music player, ala winamp (which is my music player of choice, probably mostly just due to inertia -- been using the same one for years) or whatev'.

Looks like it does play .oggs, though. I never even noticed the thing played music :V

Yeah, pretty much. Bit over 1/3rd (~3.8 thousand) of the 10k populace in the first bit died, and a lot of that was to explicit suicide or suicidal insanity. Lotta' people went bugnuts, though from what I understand it didn't get too terribly much screen time.

Hell if I know the details involved, but it's mostly just another music format. Winamp runs it fine. So does my kindle (.ogg's actually the only thing compatible with the bundled alarm program :P). Pretty sure most music players these days should.

Yeah, when twitch plays, it's significantly less capable than a four year old. NJ, what's happening is the character's inputs are being read from the chat. It's not one person playing, it's many dozens pressing individual buttons. You can watch the stream for a little bit to get an idea of what happens :V

For me, it's mostly because you can't run away from them once they acquire you, and I'd rather not stop mountain hopping to murder the goddamn screechboxes (which gets particularly bad when you are mountain hopping, and you get six+ doing their little screech stutterstep chase bullshit attached to you). They're terribly irritating, noisy as hell, and add very little to the game except annoyance. Better to just get rid of the ruddy things.

Things learned: The download will apparently finish even if the free play period ends. Also, BE's music is cheerfully available in .ogg format.

This observation has nothing to do with the comment regarding the game's soundtrack. Nothing at all.

To be fair to SAO, the incest thing is much more prevalent in the supplementary materials (games, etc., where there's paths available where K&S just straight up have sex), than the mainline stuff. Same's mostly true with the harem bits, iirc. Definitely more muted in the actual TV/manga stuff.

Also, IIRC, they're stuck right before the first enemy in tutorial, so it's nothing amazing about them getting that far.
... it's twitch chat playing dark souls. It's amazing they got out of the first room.

... doesn't look like they've gotten very far in the two days it's been running >_>

I guess it's fairly amazing they've gone as far as they have, though...

... though mod wise, even for someone starting off, I probably would recommend one of the seamless leveling mods. There's a couple that deals with the kinda' clunky progression system that's the default, and imo using them makes the game significantly more... fluid? Smoother, less fiddly (in a bad way). To play.

Maybe a magicka regen mod, too, though it does make things marginally easier (only marginally, because it's a complete non-issue to abuse alchemy to get more or less infinite everything mana). Is another quality of life thing that significantly streamlines a portion of the gameplay.

and probably whatever that cliff runner deletion mod is. That goddamn screeching may be part of the experience, but you're better off without it :V

... cookie clicker doesn't have classes and skill point allocation, no, but many of the other hundreds of clicking/idle games do, yes.

Either works, really.

And yeah, we use prisoners as functional slave labor. Dime'll get you dollar any experience they get doing that will mean jack shit insofar as finding work goes once they get out of jail, too :V
