... y'know, I think out of all of that, what got me the most was that they named one of their information gathering (or something along those lines, anyway) systems TRED. It's, like. Seriously? You named it a barely changed tread? Bloody farcical. Jackboot says hi! It's decided to stop even freaking trying.

I appreciate absurdity in my fiction, not my high level legal news, goddamnit.

No, no... transparent is probably better for spoilers. Or better yet, transparent text inside spoilers. There's a lot of people that are apparently completely incapable of stopping themselves from looking inside spoiler boxes. People with cruddy browsers can suffer as they deserve :V

Eh, it would be if you didn't have the same reaction to non-homosexuals flirting with you after you said you weren't interested, if quite mild as the phenomena goes. Otherwise it's just being fairly normal.

The question was pointed more at kk than you, AI, though it does explain how it makes sense. There's a fair number of homophobic homosexuals out there. Critter in question was probably just slinging insults at random, but it's still a thing that exists.

... is it, though? It's posited that a certain amount of homophobia comes from repressed homosexuals. Self-hatred and self-delusion are things.

... whatever the point-of-view character is for the more disturbing dreams I end up having does, indeed, tend to not particularly react with fear or disturbance or whatev'. Me on the other hand, often gets riled up enough to wake myself up from inside the dream.

I'll only have like three or four of that sort of thing I can remember/wake me up per year, though, and that's with pretty regularly (as in, usually at least a few times a week, sometimes a few times a day) having dreams I remember (for at least a little while) after waking up. Most of the time, when it comes to dreaming, I can only assume my subconscious freaking loves me or somethin'. Lotta' real nice stuff. High adventure, delightful lasciviousness, wonderful conversations, oft times pretty amazing set-pieces or ideas (dream brain kinda' loves to invent or improve on games ♥), the list just sorta' goes on. Sometimes the ruddy things will even compose music for me, to the point I kinda' wish I was worth a damn when it comes to writing down musical notation. If I could dream indefinitely, I probably wouldn't bother waking up.

Yeah. Funny enough. Imgur and... steam seem to be the 2 best places to host your images.
Use upl.co, m'self. Has so far been the least painful image hosting service I've found. Does other things, too.

Is true. Still kinda' terrible design to have it so your website is completely nonfuctional without it, though...

E: Though the more irritating thing is it doesn't work, say, here on B12, even with javascript on. Or on hosting site itself.

Rub is some folks don't find that sort of conflict to be interesting. I know I'm kinda' iffy about it, m'self -- those bits of NGE never really peaked my interest, when I watched it.

So they replace it with different conflicts, making it more interesting through that method. It's not like the setting doesn't have a dozen other venues for interesting barriers to story progression besides malicious incompetence, after all.

Furry porn only gets weirder the deeper you delve, yeah.
Nah, that's true of pretty much all of that sort of thing, not just furry stuff. 'Fraid to say that just making (some of) the participants anthromorphic or act like animals or whatever isn't even remotely enough to win the weirdness race, or even give it a notable competitive advantage. It's just a thing, and a quite minor one as things go.

... in other news, I'm starting to wonder exactly what photobucket did that makes anything hosted on their site completely invisible to me. Maybe it's an opera thing, I'unno. Have noticed the few times I've went to the site itself to try to view something the layout and whatnot has turned absolutely miserable. Can't even seen the gorram picture without javascript running, and sometimes not even then :-\

Yeah, maybe. Mid/late 90s was kinda' the point that bit started solidifying. Still, like I said, at least the broad strokes you described shares a fair amount with just plain ol' sci-fi silliness, which at least that early is where I'd personally lay the metaphorical blame. Things got (well, still get) pretty weird when aliens get involved.

No, no, P, I can confirm that untrue. Pretty sure it was either '95 or '96 that I first found porn online, and I've seen archived stuff from earlier than that -- there's a few collections floating around of old BBC licentious an' lewd material. Think I ran into Anthony's Firefly before that, which was pretty much my first encounter with sexually explicit media, period.* Also the first time I saw the word necrophilia :Vand yes i know that was a joke

Also nah, at the conversation in general, that thing isn't really what I'd call furry media, exactly. I mean, maybe retroactively? But it's more relatively-standard early-ish sci-fi/alien smut than anything related to the more modern furry-labeled material. Proto-furry softcore, maybe? Kinda' interesting to contemplate what the proper categorization would be...

*E: Well, that I recognized as such. I read some of the adept series before that, but at the time wasn't really cognizant of what I was reading. Some things can be ignored, giant bug proboscis up the bum, not so much. Especially considering what was happening before that.

E2: Incidentally, I recommend to no one that they read firefly. Just. Putting that out there.

I don't know how to tell you this, sonli, but there's a lot of published porn, especially of the softcore variety. There's a ruddy reason so much of your average non-bookstore book section is mostly romance novels. Great swaths of that stuff is either barely veiled or outright explicit smut.

Also yeah, stuff like that was being written back in the 90s. Back in the 80s, too. Even earlier, really. Heavy metal magazine had its first issue in '77, just as an example. Non-human involved erotica-style stuff has been around for a loooong time.

... I didn't eat crab anyway, but that's definitely a "Note to self: In near baltic sea, avoid crabs" kinda' thing.

... a fair few things, really. Last I checked bestiality and necrophilia aren't explicitly illegal in a lot of places in the US. Folks that get in legal trouble because of either get hit for things like animal cruelty and desecration of the dead and whatnot. Lot like how the article notes people would get in trouble for actually using a flamethrower in a lot of places, heh.

... probably? Pretty sure you can potty train the smarter birds, anyway.

E: And now I'm wondering if you could train a pet crow to crap on your neighbor's car. Damnit, brain.
