@ space: ... huh. Yeah, the change hasn't occurred on my end, then. Does look like there's no change except the transparency, though... which it already more or less was, just. Less. Also not really an issue since the bar goes away after a second or two so *shrugs*

The other girls are what I like to call "Alternate reality pairing" so to speak.
... it's funny you should use that wording in reference to the series in question... *coughs*

... huh. Pretty sure it's been that way for... months? Definitely multiple weeks. Either that or the previous effect was too subtle for me to have noticed the change *shrugs*

I can't even remember a time when the volume control in player had discrete intervals...

Youtube updated their player. OH GOD IT'S HIDEOUS MAKE IT STOP
*checks again*

... still no change on this end. Seriously, what exactly have they done?

... which is fine, but it has me thinking of cat eyelid tea. Or dog, I guess. Something that can't run away fast enough. I guess the closest that's easily commercially available would be non-fried chicken skin? Something to think about, anyway.

Thinking beyond the immediate thought, though, I'm now pretty sure it'd just be broth. Which is okay. Broth is nice. Then again, they do make tea infused chicken, iirc, so I guess the next logical step would be brew tea in broth? Think you'd have to be pretty careful about what sort of tea you used. Doesn't sound like a taste combination that would be easy to achieve.

... gods, now I'm wondering what exactly would happen if you tried to make meat tea. Thin slivers of flesh -- "leaves" -- boiled until they lose cohesion and infuse the water. Sounds like it would taste absolutely horrible and probably have a consistency and texture that could only be termed "abomination", but...

Then again, that's not too far off from broth, is it? Hrm.

Or horribly right, depending on how much you dislike harem endings :V

Well, there you go. Mamzelle vampy hasn't really had a chance to do anything particularly unusual, y'know? Give it time. Some stuff comes up later on, I'm fairly sure. Not much, but... some.

Ah. Yeah, my memory's kinda' shoddy at the moment -- it's been a few months since I read any of the manga, iirc -- but yeah, at the very least young vampires in that setting are... not very impressive. Do think I recall wossname doing some more impressive stuff later on, but by and large she's mostly just human with a couple quirks and a marvelous décolletage. And yeah, her troubles dealing with vampy stuff is part of what's played with for humor.

Big thing to remember about that one is that while there's some actiony bits, and there does exist some combat monsters, it's... not really an action series. It's pretty much a romcom, with some extra bits. So don't really expect anything terribly impressive power wise from... anyone, really.

You know... I am just waiting for them to fix the problem just by giving her sunscreen.

But I am starting to get it. The fact that she is such a weaksauce vampire is actually... part of the joke.
... what show are you even talking about?

Frumple, if you do not ally yourself with the Tea nations then you're putting yourself at great risk. Coffee drinkers know no mercy.
Mate, I can't really drink caffeine anymore, and decaffeinated anything is heresy. The tea nations get no support, either. Water uber alles! Or something along those lines, anyway.

Though yeah, taste wise tea wins out. You can do a lot more with it, too, for what it's worth to someone that can't afford to drink it.

If being able to stomach that foulness is a mark of humanity, I will happily throw off the chains of mankind and stride forth under a new, less horrific, banner.

Maybe water, I'unno. Water is good.

But if we're not supposed to drink coffee at 8 PM, why does it taste so good when curled up with a good book?
Pretty sure that's caffeine induced stockholm syndrome warping your interpretation of taste, since coffee tastes worse than ass :V

... seriously though, it's something like... six hours? Either that or three. To abstain from caffeine before you try to sleep. If you're trying for good sleep, anyway. Which isn't to say you can't sleep while under the effects of caffeine, it's just a lot easier and a lot better for you if you're not. Stuff's nasty for your sleeping health.

Incidentally, a lot of bed-time marketed teas are doing the exact wrong thing, heh.

... that title I don't really recognize is danmachi, innit? It's played pretty straight, at least as far into the manga as I read. All things considered, I give them pretty substantial props for the loli loki -- mentioned that somewhere upthread a ways. Also there's this one scene in the manga where one of the catgirl maids goes all shotacon on the main character that's pretty hilarious. Justifies the manga's existence to me, in any case.

Is also a faintly interesting setting, imo. I could see a pretty neat game or somethin' based off of it, providing all the writers were thrown out and replaced with people less interested in selling T&A, or at least willing to just write the damn porn and get it over with.

What changed?
