Why not? You climb the mountain because it's there, not because you should.

... good for them? Last I checked most of the major satanist movements in the US are... well, they're healthier belief systems than a lot of the christian ones. There's worse groups to see making inroads of a sort, really. Could be prosperity gospel :V

They've been trying to get that statue up for a while, though, haven't they? Could have sworn I heard about that, like, years ago.

Amounts to the same thing, but yeah. Sometimes part of pimping your nethers is pimping other people's nethers.

... duh? I mean, it does a lot of other things, but... that's pretty much the primary use for everything's thinky bits, not just mankind's. What made our bits what they are was driven by reproductive increases. Whatever got us to breed the most stuck around (along with stuff that didn't get in the way, or didn't get in the way enough). Every bit of us is essentially our genitalia's pimps.

We've got threads for both over in OG, for what that's worth. I've got both, but it's been a while since I've played starbound -- it's still sorta' in development, and I've been holding off until it's, well, done. Whenever that happens. Biggest problem with asking over OG is there's been a fair amount of negative opinion build up (mostly for fairly trivial reasons, really) against starbound over the last year or so, and asking there is likely to get folks being jackasses instead of constructive. S'a lot of dross to parse through in regards to more recent stuff on the SB thread, too.

If I had to choose between the two, right here and now, though, I'd probably say Terraria. It's a bit more mature, so to speak, with the primary downside to it being that many of the folks that have it are pretty played out at this point, so multiplayer may be somewhat difficult to get in to. Starbound's a bit more thematically coherent (Terraria's ostensibly fantasy, but functionally all over the goddamn place, while SB's more-or-less sci-fi), but it's also still fairly in flux regarding a fair amount of its design and whatnot (which may or may not be an upside, really). Bonus point to SB, it's a lot more mod friendly than terraria, so if that's an issue for you, you may want to keep that in consideration.

Still, you can't really go wrong with either, imo. Neither's really bad, exactly. One's just in development and the other's, well. Not.

Who(m?) did I miss?
Origamiscienceguy, iirc, and I'm pretty sure someone further back with a name starting with g? Think there was at least one more professed christian that chimed in stating they were a biblical literalist, too. It's not been entirely unrepresented in the thread, anyway.

Bernie couldn't split a pea, never mind the vote :V

Sorta' crossposting from the music thread, but don't care. This made me happy tonight. Fun little pieces like that are entirely too pleasing :3

... and now that I've listened to it about seven times in a row, time to go on to something else >_>

... every once in a while, I run into a bit of rap that's entirely too amusing. Link includes mortal kombat gameplay footage, so... yeah. Can find a download here, as well, along with the rest of an album it's on.

And for an entirely different sort of vocal work... a short an' silly a capella number whose name translates as "The Cricket". There's actually a cleaner version in Civ IV's music folder, if anyone has the game and is interested in the song :V

General Discussion / Re: Are there GOOD Mobile games?

It's funny you should mention all those other handhelds when there's almost certainly emulators for whatever tablet you have. Can be somewhat difficult to play the more active games available to such, but pretty much anything turn based is pretty solid. All those ports you mention are also possibilities -- even if the PC plays 'em better, it's a lot harder to lug the PC on a road trip or somethin'. Mobility has its uses.

There's also a lot more than just games you can do on a tablet. Reading is a big one -- it's actually the major reason I don't really have anything to suggest beyond emulation, since I use the kindle I have to, well, read. And occasionally play ogre battle :V

... also, thread probably should be in OG, and maybe just a request for recommendations instead of what approaches flamebait? Might get better results from that.

... you can just say the bloody name. Please just say the bloody name. Some people haven't seen whatever the hell you're describing, and that would probably help give them context.

Probably just stupid marketers. Though why they're still around after 5+ years if they don't work?
They lose points for subtlety.
They haven't even begun to subtle. Ads are starting to implement HTML 5 videos. And let me just say, html 5 not being recognized as a plug-in or javascript offshoot is one of the most irritating things I've encountered lately. I don't bother with no-script or something, just disable JS and plug-ins when I'm browsing, and those bastard ads get through that. Really need to figure out how to turn html 5 off one of these days. I don't even use the damn stuff, and it's thoroughly annoying at this point.

... also one of the more amusing things about those ads is they often have outright porn versions floating around the frisky bits of the internet. Every once in a while I almost get tempted to try the things out, just to see if they're actually explicit...
