What if we... nuke the sun??????????????????

Then, it'll be in tiny pieces, so it won't be as bright, and because of stellar mechanics, We'd have daytime all the time, so we can farm more food!
this was the "im joking" font, right?
Well, the reason why we wouldn't do that is if because if someone tried, I would personally hunt them down and kill them and their offspring unto the tenth generation. That's the sarcasm font, yes. Thank you. I abstained from it because if someone actually set out to make the world permanent day, I would in absolute seriousness be depopulating countries to stop it :V

Maybe you should consider cleaning out your computer of malware.
It is clean of malware, unless you're one of those sorts that considers windows to be malware (in which case all I can really do is make vulgar gestures imprecating your ancestors' sexual habits). Opera+firefox on their own take up about 2 gigs of ram (which, hey, is normal when you've got a couple hundred tabs open in the one, and running flash in the other), steam another 200 megs or so. That leaves ~600 megs dedicated to miscellaneous other stuff, most of it fairly vital windows junk.

Sorry, s'not malware bloat, it's just someone using their ruddy computer.

YES THERE'S A GODDAMN SUMMER
KosS lies. I just checked the weather forecast for toronto. The projected high today doesn't even breach 80F, and to all appearances that's basically the hottest place in the entire freaking country. That's barely goddamn spring.

Also yeah, you can get most major places in the country by bus. You'll probably even survive the trip!

*waggles hand* You can get your standard (and gold) chests and fish out of surface forest biome lakes, plus a few small other things (frog legs, zephyr fish, bomb fishes, double-jump fish). The really good stuff is found in other places, though. Either underground, or in ocean/jungle/corruption/hallow/sky/etc. Ocean's probably the easiest to immediately deal with/reach, and can give you some fairly improved (by which I mean just about the best pre-hardmode that exist) utility items (pickaxe, axe). If you're having trouble reaching the place, just mine up some iron/lead and wood, craft a few stacks of minecart track, and build yourself an easy route, heh. Or dig, I guess, but that's only a really viable choice for someone that already has late-game pickaxes, honestly.

As to your earlier question about how to take the sting out of exploration, saph, and making the enemies less scary... cheat. Would be my suggestion. Cheat engine trivially finds your current HP and freezes it, making pretty much everything at-most time consuming. It's also pretty easy to find your cash, specific ore stacks, the list just kind of goes on, and set them to whatever amount you please. Think there's already some inventory editing stuff available on the terraria forums, too. If the game's not exactly what you want to play, make it be that way :V

Plenty of newer games (and some older, when pushed particularly hard), trying to do anything more than one thing at a time, lots of video/photo editing software, recording just about anything, there's just sort of a list. My passive memory use tends to loiter around 3 gigs of ram, with just steam, opera and firefox open, nevermind actually playing a game or something, too. I've tapped out the 4 gigs on this computer more than once, pretty trivially. And that's not counting the occasional memory leak that just eats everything available.

Can it not be both?

... micky-Ds really isn't that cheap, generally. The dollar menu stuff is the closest you get to it, and that's still overpriced like most restaurant stuff is. Fast food in general is pretty rough on the price/ounce ratios, even though they also tend to be pretty good at making you think they aren't. Even then, MD usually isn't the cheapest. There's smaller fast food places that often manage to top even it re: the (comparatively) low price/low quality contest.

Don't really know what sort of joints arizona has, though. Think I rode through it once, but that was about it. Most of my familiarity with eating out is south-east, and woefully out of date since its been years since I've gone to a restaurant under my own initiative :V

Weeeellll... sorta? It doesn't have to be PBEM -- you can hotseat, and from what I understand there's some kind of server thing that may just be PBEM on a very short timer or somethin'.

It's just that due to the scale of the games almost no one has the actual time to sit down and play through a game in one go, and even massively accelerated, multi-turn/day games still can last over a week. Sometimes the games can be over quick if people are playing hyper-aggressive, but that can be pretty difficult against humans.

and ninja'd while typing, but whatever posting away!

Looking at the weather map, I'd probably say he should hope it's the extreme continental north west (or just, y'know, alaska). Much of the country is basically hell right now, and should probably be avoided.

Not on this forum, no. Anything approaching details would probably violate the ToS, and going on the oneupmanship of internet oddities ride never ends well. Especially when you consider some of us have been internet goers since before a fair number of you lot were born.

Hey, Vegeta's a fairly modern man. I'm sure with his sugar mama's support he could hold two jobs. She'd even be a client for that first one.
