Yeah, I just genned an expert world and got the giant tree too. Created a small town in the upper branches named Arborton.
If/when you reach hard mode, you'll probably regret that :V

Wyverns are a complete bastard in expert, and seem to spawn more often if you're at the right height.

It's nice to have stuff like that to build off of, though. Just... expert is nasty, heh.

I love how the aide clarified the comment was directed towards part-time workers and the underemployed, as if they're not often working over forty hours a week anyway. Apparently being part of the GOP establishment makes you physically incapable of grasping the concept of working two (or more) jobs, or what "local job market" means. It's always vaguely amazing how someone can make a statement that completely divorced from reality. Bonus points for calling someone else out of touch in the same breath :V

In other news, Jeb is a piece of crap, news at 11, florida has been telling all you folks that for years. We have a fairly clear example of what that bastard does in power, and the answer is "Shit on what he's governing."

That's th'housing bubble, poh, not the dot-com one. Dot-com came earlier, caused by different things, iirc.

S'definitely going to make forming decent bulwarks against the AI significantly more difficult on a lot of maps, at the least. Being able to set up defenses on a whim (and, more importantly, before the AI breaks out and starts edging towards out of control) around the big circle things or choke points that otherwise didn't have control points nearby was one of the better ways to keep them under control, and the change is going to make that fairly significantly more difficult.

... huh. It looks like SCOTUS struck down part (though just part) of the three-strikes bullshit that's been fucking with our legal system for a while now. Maybe more details later (it's about a quarter past 1 AM, here, and am sleepy), or maybe not (since I'm pretty much entirely unqualified to interpret legal information), but it seems like something that folks might be interested in hearing about. Court summation is here, as a .pdf, for anyone interested in it. There's news thingies floating around, too, but a(n incredibly) cursory look-around seems to be showing some of them are what could be charitably called wildly inaccurate, so...

... you want to know how many people in my high school played tennis to stay in shape? Insofar as I'm aware, zero. The local inner-city park-like thing had a tennis court, once. When I was young. The netting rotted out and was never replaced. The next city over had racketball courts, at one point. Had. The list kinda' goes on. If it's an odd pastime for the area, it's an odd pastime for the area, and that can most defiiiinitely lead to ostracization.

S'kinda' like, hell. You think you could get away with playing golf in high school in most places in the US and have it be seen as "incredibly normal"? No. No, you could not. In might not lead to outright social rejection, but it's not normal. Tennis is roughly in the same place. It's not the most normal of sport choices in a lot of places.

Not even remotely :V

It was pretty up there, uh. At least before 1.2? Few versions back, anyway. Now... no. I'd be fairly surprised if anyone could survive any of the new end-game content using the piranha gun, heh. Poor thing's got fairly consistent damage once you latch on to something, but the damage is just too low, after a point.

*shrugs* If you can improve upon the OP or intend to moderate the thread after starting it up, sure? New one's maybe a good idea in that case, just link to the old one in the OP or somethin'.

If you don't intend to do either of those, probably just go ahead and necro. Same effect, less effort, and necroing's fine so long as you bring something new to the thread.

... they would pretty definitely get sued if they translated and distributed material they don't have the rights to translate and distribute, such as is apparently often the case with the song lyrics. There's a reason fansubs are generally illegal, even when they're separate from the media they're translating -- it's plain clothes copyright infringement just to translate and distribute, even if it's just a text file or something divorced from the material being translated. Yes, the right to broadcast and the right to translate are two different things, and only bundled if the developer/producer specifically does so. Which apparently they often don't.

The major reason very few people in the amateur field get in legal trouble for it is because it usually isn't particularly worth the hassle to go after them -- too few funds on their side, too small a market, etc., etc. Something like Funimation is a very much different story.

I feel bad for the sheep farmer who comes across his lamb instores and notices that it costs more than the imported stuff.
Markup much?
... as long as the lamb's still selling, why would you feel bad for the native farmer? Would mean they're getting more money than they possibly would be otherwise.

Pretty sure you're thinking of 4Kids for the notoriously bad translations.
Aahhh, yeah, that'd be it. My bad, heh.

Funimation and translate aren't words I recall being used together with any seriousness, Furt. Especially not with the word "good" involved :V

... unless it's something along the lines of "Good for a laugh", I guess?

Think it was funimation, anyway. May be thinking of another company... there's at least one that's fairly notorious for the (lack of) quality of their english dubs, though, and I'm half-way sure it's them.

... probably the other way around, unless she actually happens to be younger than whenever you coined that nom de guerre. On the bright side, now you have a reason to both change your username and the vocabulary of an entire field of mathematics. Have fun ^_^

Fishron on expert is a friggin' nightmare. I think I'd rather fight the spires. Definitely would rather fight the golem or plantera. Not Eyedong Dentatahand, though. The less I have to fight that thing, the better.

Also for some reason the fooron things are kinda' terrifying to me. Something about the shape is just kinda' offputting, I think. Especially the pigrons when they show up underground. Bacon's nice, but it comes on this freaky-shaped ball of fangs and glowing eyes that comes out of goddamn nowhere and moves fast enough you can't really get a good look at it (at least when your FPS is lingering where mine likes to :P). Nasty buggers, even if they're not really that dangerous.

Sometimes the biggest problem with asking a question, OW, is that it gets answered :V
