Heh. If you don't know what you want to do with your NPC dwelling/house, just go with the land. Either hollow out a mountain/hill, or dig down a bit and find a fairly hole-y cave system. Maybe mix that with a staunch refusal to have any strictly rectangular rooms.* It's a pretty easy way to make neat looking/entirely-too-complicated-to-navigate domiciles. Then you just randomly clutter it up with whatever furniture and whatnot you end up pulling out of chests or whatev'. S'what I do when I'm not just making boxes, anyway :V

*An easy way to do this if you're hollowing out stuff underground, is just turn on smart-select or whatever it is, start mining, and then close your eyes and run around moving your mouse randomly for a bit. Make due with whatever affront to sensible architecture pops out :P

I was thinking children's book character, myself. It's an obvious diminutive for "Terrycloth Fox", a perky little stuffed woodland creature going on lighthearted adventures.

And fights a giant forest hamster

Ohh so this IS dungeons and dragons.

Giant Space Hamster
No, no. Not giant space hamster.
I think about the best part of the giant hamster is that absolutely no one besides the MC actually sees it as what a mounts to an upsized hamster. Everyone else considers it a majestic beast of great wisdom and ferocity. Also it can talk. And cast spells! Fur like steel. Would fit well in one of those gorrilion fold meme mutations.

I don't yet know how much of a role the giant hamster is going to play in the rest of the series, but I can deeply appreciate that the writer willingly used a giant talking doom hamster as a notable character for, at least, part of a volume.

E: Things I was not expecting when reading the overlord LN: An illustration of four of the battle-maids recreating the Ginyu Force combined pose (minus the frog dude). I'd link it or something, but it's somewhat NSFW due to the burter equivalent. Volume 3, chapter 5 :V

Only 80 health and thirty damage? Pah. Slimes are a bigger danger than that :V

... in expert, after the scaling kicks in. Been seeing blues with ~150 hp, able to damage me through 60ish defense. 'Course, those skeletons are probably significantly more damaging, too, but still.

... welp. Expert mode fishron pushed my shit in :V

Gonna' need better armor for that. Chlorophyte's nice for general spelunking, but it ain't really cuttin' it for this stuff. Maybe more potions, too. Possibly an upgrade over the possessed axe, but I'm least sure about that one... not having to particularly aim is a pretty big deal when your FPS starts tanking, ha.

... that's because the medusas aren't bosses.
They are in the early game. :'(
(:P)
I'll admit, I haven't actually fought them yet with a character that can't just step on them, but do remember that their biggest trick is fairly easy to avoid, if you're paying attention.

And no tiru, still no built in means to avoid the spiders. They've also added scorpions! It would still be possible to mod them away, but that would take a fairly irritating amount of work, from what I understand. Possible, though. And as EP ninja'd, apparently there was already a mod for it, heh.

He spent maybe fifteen minutes in this world and decided "Huh, I guess I wanna conquer it, just 'cause," fer crying out loud.
Naaaaah... the LN actually expands on that bit, and it's almost kinda' poignant. Not quite tear jerking, but it approaches it.

I can't confirm this, but I am fairly certain I've found both sets of ore in my world. Granted, I think one set is more common then the other, but I thinks its both now. I could be wrong though.
You're both right and wrong, insofar as I've noticed :P

Near as I can tell, you still only get one set that you can mine. The difference is, there's several other sources of ores/ingots now, and those aren't world-locked. It's an utter nightmare to get any substantial amount of the off-world metals from those methods, but over time you do/can accumulate some.

In vaguely related news, my sudden and entirely arbitrary desire to test out my newly enlarged pond by fishing up five iron crates also netted me two golden crates (seven wooden ones, few dozen bomb fish, twenty something frost minnows, couple hundred of those throwing knife fish, who knows how many bass, set of frog legs, etc.), and from those

You could give pictures *eyebrow waggle*

New camera mode thing makes it pretty painless, too. Even pretty big compounds are quite easy to take pictures of now... though they do seem to get a bit sizable, file-size wise.

FOR EXAMPLE, AHAHAHAHA! Link instead of spoiler'd pic because it's a half meg .png :V

It's what happen when frumple builds with zero regard to aesthetics and only slightly more regard to functionality. The mighty irregular underground box compound!

"We need to secretly go out amongst the living. Here, you must dress in this clothing and pretend to be my date".
Nah, dude's actually pretty blatantly going out amongst the living. There is an illusion form that's basically a black knight, but the MC's already demonstrated he's pretty willing to waltz up to folks in his full calcified splendor. Got the firepower and minion support he's honestly not too worried about external reactions, heh.

If it's any reassurance, the manga to date (of translated stuff, anyway) only has mild pseudo-harem shenanigans, iirc. As mentioned, there's not much of it, and its existence as a light novel is... honestly somewhat of a warning sign*... but at least the initial impression is that it's not going to significantly lean on that particular theme. It's there, but not terribly substantially. Yet.

I mean. Dude's a skeleton. Outside of one character that I can remember, it's (mostly) not so much bone-jumping as great respect, and the MC is somewhat aware of it. Still, there's plenty of time for it to nosedive :V

E:* To clarify this, I'm not exactly knocking on LNs -- so far, I kinda' love 'em. But, out of the few dozen series I've at least tried to start up, every single one of them has ended up either outright harem-shenanigans or at least a love triangle. So it seems like it's something of a trend for the medium, and people who have issue with such may stand to be advised.

Taking it the extra mile by corrupting the spelling, too. I can respect that.

Generally because they were fairly small and/or fractious, compared to what we consider "proper" religions, iirc. That, mixed with some modern (and competing religious, of course) bias denigrating ancient beliefs. Substantially mixed >_>

... okay, really, it's mostly because of the latter. Some of it's because of the former. Most of it is just later people being jackasses towards someone that can't respond ('cause they're dead :V).
