That'd be an interesting experiment, though. "I will pay you this much to refuse an equivalent amount of donations." Or an ebay alternative that let you pay them an amount relative (or equal) to someone else's bid to cancel said bid. I'd be terribly surprised if either system could stay fiscally viable, but it might be neat to check...

Oh, neat. Finally got around to trying out the bomb fish. Didn't know they were naturally sticky! Now I do. Feels nice to suddenly find out you have a 99 stack of sticky bombs sitting in your fishing chest.

Also so many bass. 257 bass. Goddamn bass, go away! Trying to get the corruption fishing weapon. Got sixty bass instead (and some other stuff, trio of ebonkoi, handful of chests, etc.).

E: Also, any of you know a better way to get rainbow bricks than waiting for a snowstorm and killing rainbow slimes?

It's been entirely stable on my side of things. Performance seems to degrade after a while (though reloading the world seems to help, for a bit), but I haven't had any crashes yet, despite leaving the game open for, like. 24 hours straight and stuff like that. Haven't actually noticed any major memory leaks, either. Seems to be staying in the 600-800 megs of ram usage area, from what I can recall noticing so far.

... so are the other hard mode fishing weapons as good as the seedler? There's something terribly amusing about being able to skip off to the jungle and nab a (pretty damn good!) plantera drop right after the WoF drops, and I'm wondering if the other few ones are as good...

Grandfather has somehow managed to get an entire rug stick in the lawnmower blades.

Now I get to pull it out. At least it's only 85 out there...

Finally offed the twins in expert. Wasn't that bad with buffs going and a nice asphalt runway to charge up and down.

... there's also now a railway from the starting spawn point (where I built all the NPC housing) and the western ocean. Took... something like 1400 track, I think? Full stack, plus about 4-500. Super minecart maxes out 102 mph according to the speedometer. About to test and see if swiftness potions effect it :V

Also yeah, going through that many chunks that quickly makes my FPS plummet. It's kinda' hilarious. You can feel the game going, "SHiiiiit what are you doing stahp"

Fakeedit: Swiftness potion does not, in fact, effect the minecart. Sadness. Also it takes about 22 seconds by rail to get from far west end of the map to the middle of it ^_^

... less, to get from the middle to the west. Booster tracks <3

Actual edit: Oh hey, I didn't know you could get multiple flying dutchmen in a single pirate invasion! That's neat. Also the minecart laser thing kinda' shreds -- hella' damage on the thing, if you can keep it pointed in the right direction. Just blew up pretty much all of a pirate invasion by chucking possessed axes at pirates from my railway, occasionally burning one to bits with cartlaser, which managed to cut off something like a quarter to a half of a dutchman's health off in one pass. It was interesting!

Eehh... the raw damage will probably last you longer, for what that's worth, I think. Personally, I'd say go with whichever you can most consistently hit with :V

... 22 fish fished before one bait gave out.* Including 5 (wood) crates! Still don't have angler's pants (or whatever they are) and wasn't using fishing potion. This... this is getting silly. Golden bug net's amusing, though.

In news beyond that, my jungle can just go jump of a gorram bridge. Freaking thing's high enough up it gets wyverns. Regularly. Harpies come down to play just walking across the damn thing. Viciously irritating, had to terraform the "underground" (i.e. several dozen blocks below the jungle's top, but still in the surface layer :-\) just so I could bloody fish.

... anyone know if the sundial is a per-item or per-world effect? Wondering if you could collect like 7-14 of the things and just indefinitely spin the world like a top.

Hehe. Skellie prime was actually the first one I solo'd, though admittedly with better equipment than you could have had at that point, sticking to those limitations. Critter's a cinch if you can take out the limbs, ha. Fairly brutal until that point, but definitely the easiest of the three after. Twins keep killing me, though :V

... though that's mostly because the bastards keep autospawning, usually when I'm off doing something and don't really have time to get back to town for buffs and whatnot. Jerks.

There we go. Actually remember the medicare and clear skies things a lil', now that you mention it. That's a bit more clear cut, so thanks.

Not quite sure that makes 'im as close to center as Obama is, but that better explains where some of the fuss was coming from.

No kid left behind, extend funding for aid against AIDS, expending the size of government.
No kid left behind was... not what I'd call leftist. It basically fucked much of the country's education system, and in many ways did pretty much the exact opposite of what left-leaning/progressive educators would have told someone to do. The second, okay. Had forgotten about that. The third is... debatable. The right-wing in the US doesn't exactly shirk expanding the government, so long as it's expanding in the direction they want. Talk a lot against it these days, but their ass cashes not the check their mouth writes.

... is there anything else? I mean, okay, he got some detractors calling him a RINO (I... don't recall any of that in the conservative-as-hell area I'm in, but okay -- I wasn't paying much too terribly much attention to anything he was doing that wasn't the wars or contributing to screwing over my state's education system, at the time), but what'd he do to deserve it?

And ironically, both are much closer to the other side than they're ever given credit for.
... what did GWB do that was crypto-leftist, again?
