Yeah, I mean the Harry Potter books must be several thousand pages combined, for example, so the length isn't a reason not to read it for even fairly slow and casual readers.
The entire HP series is a titch over a million words combined, yeah. Bit under twice the size of War & Peace.

There's individual harry potter fanfics bigger than that :V

But yeah, style and whatnot does have its influence. I can't read W&P nearly as fast as I can most similarly sized fanfics, or even several other classical texts (This is largely because war and peace bores me to goddamn tears.). Still, some people can breeze through that sort of thing without much trouble. More power to 'em, ha.
Besides, do you know what kind of work it'd be to move the whole darn thing over? That, alone, is deterrent enough!
Well, that, at least, wouldn't be much of an issue. It's apparently not too much trouble to scribble up a script (or use something that's already around and online) that auto-moves that sort of thing.

E: There's also probably something on toady's end that would make transferring the stuff to another forum pretty trivial. Backup feature or whatev'. The logistics of moving isn't really a substantial obstacle, is what I'm saying.

Apparently some non-player is reading all of ER (Einsteinian roulette), all the missions, posts and on ship stuff. How does one do that?
Sometimes, some people, want to read large, largely contiguous, bits of writing. I've personally read through more than one work that's larger than War and Peace (which isn't even that big of a deal, really -- one of the major translations is only a bit under 590k words). Sometimes you just want to not finish reading something in a few days. Or a week or two. It's a different sort of experience from chewing through a novel(/written work in general) in a day or less.

Probably going to be three different kinds of lava or some crap come tuesday's update. You'll be covered.

... also, I totally just noticed the announced date is actually on a tuesday. Finally, I can say it's due tuesday without having to add transparent text questioning which tuesday! +1 meta enjoyment.

Then we get this shit where people say that Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush are exactly the same and Bernie Sanders offers the only real choice.  Bullshit.
Just to clarify, if that's what you read out of what I posted a bit earlier, you got me entirely wrong. Point I was making was that jeb doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of winning a campaign against hillary, and so you could vote whoever without risking Mr. Fucked-Florida-Sideways becoming POTUS. Definitely don't think hillary and jeb run terribly similar platforms, at least in the particulars.

Honestly zero creativity but zero XLs can still be entertaining.

Power settings make that pretty trivial, at least if yours has at least the functionality vista does. Change when the computer sleeps, there's an option to set that to never and screen off to... less than never.

Skype, HL. Or something similar. There's places online where you can find native speakers willing to practice with you, iirc, or at least there were a decade or so ago. Know a couple folks that were in my french classes back in high school went that route, and used it later on to pursue actual fluency (after boatloads and boatloads of practice). Useful stuff if there's no one local available. Incidentally, consider asking whoever's teaching you for resources of that nature.

Barring that, maybe youtube or something -- look for stuff from native french speaking countries, listen in, try to parrot it until you're more comfortable.

Well, the bright side of hillary vs. jeb would be you could probably vote for someone else comfortable in the knowledge you're not actually running the risk of changing the results.

The down side is that jeb would actually be on the ticket. Hillary's got her problems, but there's not much else I've noticed that quite embodies "lukewarm conservative incompetence" like jeb does, ruinous public policy and all. Lived through years of that guy as a state governor. Those were not good years.

Still. H v J come 2016, burn down the local polling stations, vote third party. Or sanders or somethin'. It's a plan.

Nah, I'm pretty sure there's at least a few that would be willing to give it a go gratis. There's the occasional fellow that gets jollies from that sort of thing. Hell, there's probably some straight critters that'd give a roll at it, just to mess with Santorum. Only money needed would be to set up a proper meeting, really.

'Course, Trump being one of those rich folks, there's good odds it wouldn't even occur to him to try that venue. Something something no price tag no worth something.

Possibly winter, too. Maybe even spring and fall. Things seem to be settling into a cycle of two fairly large sale seasons (summer, winter), and two somewhat smaller ones (spring, fall), with occasional off-season stuff in between. Now you just have to exert the willpower needed to not overspend. And maybe get into the habit of hosting or contributing to the occasional giveaway, when you buy a bundle that has stuff in it you're not interested in (and you will, because that's still the path to greatest discount quite often).

... isn't this one of the least mobile characters we've seen in a while? It has a(n apparently less effective) TF ult someone can buddy up with, but other than that the most it has is some situational MS buffs. No serious gap closer, no vault-type thing, no meaningful escape... fishcritter actually seems to be pretty lacking in the mobility department, overall. Just has a fairly slow teleport included.

... wish I could offer better words of support or somethin'. I've had that happen a couple times in my life, splitting with folks that were pretty damn close for a long time, suddenly. It hurts for a long while, and to an extent there's always going to be that kind of person-shaped hole in you. It gets smaller, usually, but it never really goes away...

Just... sympathy offered, for want of something better? If it helps any. Maybe if it doesn't, too.

... except not giving some freaking fast food would not have been treating them badly. It would have been treating them like everyone else, at the least. Instead someone who's going to be hit with multiple counts of racially motivated homicide got special treatment. Thus people are pissed.

This is a case of a heinous criminal getting accommodation above and beyond what even petty criminals get. It does not paint a pretty picture, especially given the circumstances. Now, if it turns out luxury food is normal for criminals in that precinct, okay. That would explain things, and people would probably be less incensed. If we've gotten confirmation of something like that, it'd be nice to know.

I really don't understand why people are mad at the police for giving the guy food. They can't just let him starve.
... because it's a case of the police treating a murderer better than they treat non-violent protesters. Of giving someone that just killed nine people more expensive food than parts of the country allow people on bloody food stamps, that have done nothing except being poor.

Folks are pissed because it's a possible sign of fairly disgusting bias. They can't let him starve -- though there are precincts in this country perfectly willing to let protesters who have been stuck in a cell without even being charged go without food for dozens of hours -- but that doesn't mean he deserves special treatment. Which is what this is seen as.

Though maybe they had some kind of good reason for doing so. It's not impossible. Just damned unlikely.

The Dalai Lamas might be closer to it than most.
